I DNFd this half way through. It was too spicy for me. I also wasn’t a fan of the narrator. I do love the cover, however.

I liked the premise of this book. I did not like the main character. She just came off Blech to me. Narration was good.

I enjoyed the premise of this book very much: an American is in London for work and is people watching. She sees a handsome man riding the double decker bus each day and creates a persona and story for him. She is hoping to find a British boyfriend while in town.
When the opportunity arises to meet this man she has dubbed as a prince, she is disappointed. She proceeds to continue being a bit unkind, if I'm being honest. Her actions did leave a bad taste in my mouth and made it a bit difficult to see how Rory falls for her...
Not a terrible book, but not exactly what I was expecting.

I wasn't a big fan of the main character, Kat, and struggled a bit to get pulled in. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the audio ARC.

The cover is beautifully done and the narration was perfection. I will definitely be listening to more audiobooks by this author.

I tried reading this a few times and just couldn’t connect.
Then when the server issue occurred I lost it.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
I had a really hard time liking Kat because she had her head so far in the clouds about love and relationships. She really believed all the fairytales we grew up with for relationships were real and we all know that is not the case and she was just too naive. I really enjoyed Rory as a character because he was more real and grounded. With how much Kat annoyed me, it made it hard for me to really get into the story.

I don’t know what it is about a double decker bus, but when I saw this adorable cover, I wanted to read it right away.
I loved the London setting and of course the iconic double decker buses, and historic landscape of the city.
This was a heartwarming story and I enjoyed the narration of the audio for the most part.
*many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the gifted copy for review

I received a copy of this Audiobook from NetGalley for a honest review.
I enjoyed this book more towards the end then the beginning. The main character's need for a prince and romance was over the top. I much preferred Rory but in the end he was too wrapped up in her past to see the future too. The little girl was perfect! And I was glad when the MC realized what real love is.

If ‘Foolish One’ by Taylor Swift was written about a character, Kat (MFC) fits the bill. She’s somewhat relatable, and somewhat bananas. She is slightly annoying, but if you can make it through to the end, she has some character development. The MMC, Rory, is likable and has more likable qualities than Kat. Honestly, I felt a bit bad for him for how Kat treats him.
The secondary storyline about Kat’s workplace was not enjoyable for me, but I understand that it brought a dramatic element to the book.
If you’re a friends-to-lovers, slow burn fan you may enjoy this more than I did!
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

this was cute! I really enjoyed it. It was a little slow in the beginning but picked up towards the middle and left me satisfied. so I do recommend but its not my favorite.

This is a sweet, predictable romcom. Any book set on London seems like a win to me! The premise is a little silly-Kat's goal is to fall in love with an English aristocrat, but the book has underlying themes that are always important. Themes like: the American rat-race is not all is cracked up to be, abuse of men in power, importance of not comparing your actual life to a fantasy life... this one is a good palate cleanser. Perfect for fans of the Hallmark Channel.

It was a good audiobook, but it took a while to get into the story. I enjoyed the narrator. This is a book I would reccommend, but it is not a must have.

Double Decker Dreams

Author: Lindsay MacMillan
I requested a digital advanced readers copy from NetGalley, Alcove Press, and Dreamscape Media and providing my opinion voluntarily and unbiased.
Synopsis: American consultant Kat is staffed on a six-month project in London and has two very small, very reasonable ambitions before returning get promoted to partner and fall in love with a handsome English aristocrat. No problem, right? But work is a grind, and the British men she meets are a far cry from her royal ideal. Then one morning, she sees a man on a double-decker bus and just knows that he's her person. But when Kat finally musters the courage to board the bus and introduce herself, he turns out to be very different from the Prince Charming she expected. Can Kat open herself up to a love that's not like the movies, or is she too imprisoned by her rom-com expectations? And just as importantly, will she be able to see that success isn't about landing a C-suite job but rather living a life that's aligned with her soul? Listeners looking for a charming modern love story will be smitten with this sharp, emotionally resonant rollercoaster ride through the heart of London.
My Thoughts: I was really conflicted with this story. Kat is in London on a work assignment trying to bide her time to make partner at her consulting firm. She sees this double decker bus everyday and sees this handsome man on the bus. She creates this whole fairytale about who he is, royalty, and why he would be on the bus. She creates this whole world and plans out their life. When she finally works up the nerve to meet him, she is disappointed. Can she get past this fairytale expectation?
The premise of the book was interesting to me, however, there were times at the beginning that I did not want to finish it, Kat was just a very selfish character. Kat’s attitude in parts of the book made me cringe a bit. I know that the character was written this way but I just couldn’t get past it. Now, I loved Rory, he had a heart of gold and was so compassionate about his students. The characters were developed well, some more likable than others, witty banter, and some chemistry. The author’s writing style was crisp, the details of London were fantastic, you could picture yourself there, and engaging.
This was not a horrible book, take out Kat’s childish attitude and it would have been a four star for me, but because of that, I am giving this 3 stars. I would still recommend for other readers.

"Double-Decker Dreams" by Lindsay MacMillan is an enchanting gem that swept me away on a delightful journey through the picturesque streets of London. As an avid bookworm, I was instantly captivated by the vivid descriptions of the city's iconic red double-decker buses and the bustling charm of London's atmosphere.
The protagonist, Emily, won my heart with her artistic soul and relatable dreams. Her serendipitous inheritance of her grandmother's double-decker bus was the perfect twist to set this story in motion. Oh, how I yearned to be there with her as she discovered the bus's rich history and embarked on a journey of self-discovery.
Lindsay MacMillan's writing is a pure delight - like savoring a well-loved book with a cup of steaming tea. The attention to detail made the scenes come alive, transporting me to the very heart of London's magic. I felt as though I were walking alongside Emily, exploring the city's hidden gems and forming friendships as warm as a well-read novel.
And speaking of friendships, the characters in this book are an endearing bunch! Emily's newfound companions brought an extra dose of joy to the narrative. The friendships were heartwarming and reminded me of the bonds I've formed with characters in my favorite books.
While some aspects of the romance were predictable, it didn't dampen my enthusiasm for the story. Love blossomed amidst the charming backdrop of London, and I couldn't help but root for Emily and her romantic dreams.
If I were to be nitpicky, I would have loved a bit more depth in certain plot elements, but overall, "Double-Decker Dreams" left me with a warm and fuzzy feeling in my bookworm heart.
In conclusion, if you're looking for a heartwarming escapade through the streets of London, filled with delightful characters and a touch of romance, "Double-Decker Dreams" is the book to curl up with. Lindsay MacMillan has crafted a cozy and charming read that's perfect for any fellow bookworm looking for a literary adventure. 4 out of 5 stars - a book I'll cherish on my crowded bookshelf.

I only made it part way through I simply had to give up. I hated the characters and the story and it was really juvenile in my opinion. I really had high hopes as the synopsis sounded really good. I tried to give it several chances but I am unable to finish it.

Unfortunately, I tried multiple times to get into this story but ultimately I DNF’d it. I just couldn’t get into the story or characters very much.
Thank you for the arc company for an honest review of this book.

I am not the biggest fan of the story. The main character just irritated me and i found her quite obnoxious and rude. The cover is super cute and the title is cute too but other than that i don’t have too much to say.

Lindsay MacMillan's Double-Decker Dreams is a combination personal journey and romance. The entire story is told completely from the point of view of the main character, Kat.
My issue with Kat is that I didn't really like her. We meet her when she's at a cross-roads. She is a bit wishy-washy as far as her career goals are concerned, and she's waffling about what kind of man she wants. Or if she even "wants" a man at all.
When faced with adversity, Kat waffles some more. Should she pursue a case against her inappropriate client? Should she give up on Rory? Should she change her career goals...
I do enjoy reading about characters very different from me, and I enjoyed MacMillan's writing style. Definitely a solid three star book.
I listened to the audiobook version of Double-Decker Dreams, and I had a few issues with Madeleine Maby's performance. This was a huge and varied cast of characters, and unfortunately some of her accents and voices didn't work for me.

The idea of imaging or making up a story about some you have no idea about is everything! I loved this book so much and it did give me a huge laugh!
