I enjoyed this very much it was just my cup of tea. The main character's were likeable the side character's were oddbaIl to say the least. It was fast paced with a few quirky turns I didn't see coming and while I did spoke the culprit very early on due to the name clue it didn't spoil my enjoyment of the story as a whole. I do love my romance with a mystery or murder and this didn't disappoint can't wait for more. I was up till 1am finishing this as I didn't want to put it down. received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Marie is hosting a houseparty to find brides for her son Claude and nephew Richard. Things definitely don't as planned. Items end up missing, Claude falls for the wrong woman and Richard doesn't want to fall for anyone. A murder is solved, and love is found. This was a very eventful book.

I wanted to love this, but I just never could fully get into it. It seemed like the author was trying to cram way too many troupes into one book. I don’t mind your standard unbelievable romance troupe, but not all at once. I also never really felt that they had enough of a connection to justify the sudden intensity of feeling for one another. We were TOLD they had this connection, but never really saw it. It was a sweet start and had potential, but needed to be fleshed out a bit more. Regardless, thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read for free!

Richard the Earl has no intention of getting married when his Aunt invites a cluster of women to a house party for her son and him. Amelia is a wallflower and considers herself a spinster. Both Richard and Amelia overhear conversations that are derogatory to each other, and they allow it to color their feelings for each other. Amelia sustains an injury aggravating old wounds and Richard becomes upset.
Many plot twists kept me involved in their story and I enjoyed the resolutions.
I received an ARC but the honest opinion is my own.

If you like Lisa Kleypas - Again the Magic, you will love Persuading the Earl by Audrey Harrison - Amelia Beckett and Aline (Again the Magic - by Lisa Kelypas) has such powerful strength for women that are scorned by their accidents, but they overcome their fear with strength by love. It's an excellent book and I absolutely love it, I'm going to grab this book when it's released!
I just reviewed Persuading the Earl by Audrey Harrison. #PersuadingtheEarl #NetGalley

"Persuading the Earl" is a quick, fairly enjoyable read with a splash of mystery amongst a romance. I will admit to moments of confusion - the title, for one. I am not sure who is supposed to be persuading the Earl, and what the persuader wants the Earl to do. I also don't fully understand how Amelia's injuries happened in only the places they happened, but that could just be my own unfamiliarity with horses. Finally, why would Enid be friends with the Earl's aunt when the Earl's aunt is essentially a terrible person?
All of the above said, I did still like this book. Amelia and her friends are the antithesis of wallflowers in the truest sense - smart, strong women unwilling to bow to the demands of society or particular members thereof. Liking Amelia as much as I did made it harder to like Richard, who was largely a doormat for his former paramour for too much of this book. I did like how the mystery was resolved, I must say. Very tidy.
3 stars. Thank you to the publisher and to NetGalley for a complementary ARC of this book. The opinions herein are my own.

Richard and Amelia had an interesting story with a few mysteries throughout . It was a great introduction to a new series. The main and side characters were likable. I am excited about future books. This book did not have detailed sex scenes, but was passionate.
I received this book from NetGalley and Dragonblade Publishing for an honest review.

Armed with his quizzing glass, a disapproving look and a dark reputation Richard Fox, Earl Douglas, keeps the world at arm’s length. Abandoned by his parents and his fiancée he fears he will never be enough. Only his sassy aunt Marie knows him through and through.
So when aunt Marie plans a house party to marry off her wasteful tool of a son Claude, Richard begrudgingly agrees to attend. Not that he will ever love again, no ma’am. And that fanciful spinster who just made fun of him, is in for the set down of her life!
Spirited Amelia Beckett bears the scars of her own youthful foolishness. A horse attack stole her first three seasons, and now she finds herself discarded on the wallflower benches. Once upon a time she dreamed of love and a big family, but what man would want her hideous body?
What’s the worst that could happen at a house party? Right, being set-up to marry the host’s son! And then there’s his odious cousin.
Claude’s brutish ways force Amelia to rest, and a strange but intriguing friendship grows between her and Richard. Items go missing, a couple is found kissing, Claude and a guest disappear, lost girls, a jealous ex-fiancée, pride, prejudice and a murder mystery…
📚 Their own personal inner struggles, prejudice and some miscommunication makes the lovebirds road to HEA interesting and somehow very beautiful. Colourful characters and well-written side stories intertwine and meander into an unexpected climax.
This story builds and builds, and every time you think “that’s it!” there’s another twist and definitely not what you expected! Intriguing, enthralling and thoroughly entertaining!
This is the first book in a new series and I’m very much looking forward to what’s coming!
📚 Brooding cinnamon roll hero, scarred spinster heroine, compromised, fade to black, frenemies to lovers
Thank you to Audrey Harrison, Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley for this eARC. All opinions expressed are my own.

I enjoyed this book. In the past I have noted that other books by this author have been very detailed and a bit complicated but this was quite straightforward. It was lovely that I wasn't able to find out the 'villain'. The romance was very natural and built slowly. Richard wasn't really keen to find a wife. He'd been obsessed by Bea but she'd married someone else but was still clinging onto him. His aunt. Marie thought this was unhealthy. Marie's friend Enid had a grandaughter and her firends that Marie invited to a house party. They were wallflowers and Marie assumed they would be desperate to marry. She also invited some very young debutantes. Marie was hoping to find a wife for her indolent son, Claude and her nephew Richard, Marie wanted Amelia, a blue stocking to marry Claude and keen him under control.
I think you will enjoy this romance between Amelia and Richard. As it's the start of a series I assume we will also meet Amelia's friend. I'm keen to find out.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is the first book from Audrey Harrison that I have read so I had no idea what might be in store for me - and I was not disappointed. I loved the interactions between Amelia and Richard - it was so clear they were perfect for one another. It's probably a good thing that Claude forced the situation otherwise these two may have never been brave enough to take a chance on a real relationship. On the topic of Claude, what a tool. His behavior towards Amelia is unforgivable no matter what his motivations. Bea is also a pretty awful person. I absolutely loved the scene with Amelia going off on her - so deserved and so masterfully done. That moment also served to moved Ameilia and Richard closer to get him to finally be ready to move on from the past. I did go back and forth on what I thought of Marie - sometimes I thought her meddling was amusing and other times I just thought she was a big bully. I liked that Enid stood up to her and pointed out how awful she was behaving - it's always good to have a friend who will tell it like it is. As for the mystery, I thought it was just going to be the thefts and was a little disappointed when it was solved so quickly. But then the murder happened which came as a complete surprise. When the killer is revealed it was a real 'no duh' moment for me because I totally missed the hints. It was a real situational blindness moment for me. I can't wait to read more from this author and this series!

I absolutely loved this book and was honored to have been able to read and review. It was such a phenomenal read and had amazing characters as well as an amazing story line. I just could not get enough of it and once I started reading it, I could not put it down.
