i loved this!! grumpy x sunshine is one of my very favorite romance tropes and this book really delivered! highly recommend!

A very interesting read. Thank you to the publisher for allowing me to read this book. It wasn't really for me, but I am sure that it will be loved by the right audience.

Sadly this book just didn't do it for me. It felt like I was reading the same sentence over and over again. I DNFed it after 60% which sucked but it couldn't hold my attention.

Finally got to this one and I felt like overall it was an okay book. Like sometimes, actually most of the time, I was bored. It's not bad, just there. I did enjoy it.

Instantly pulled in with the cover. I love me some plus size protagonist! I will say overall this was such a fun comedy read. Although I ended up feeling like the story kinda dragged at the end. Like maybe if it had ended a bit sooner it would have been perfect. Since I felt like it dragged I ended up losing track of what was happening. It didn't keep my attention.

This cover and title drew me in right away. The story was super fun and I definitely enjoyed my time reading it. I'll be seeking out more from the author!

Opposites attract? Grumpy sunshine? A book about writing a book? Yes, yes and yes! Charlotte Stein has another winner with this one. The witty banter and steamy chemistry made for a fantastic romance and I loved the character growth along the way.
Thanks to St. Martin's for the copy to review.

So so cute!!!!! The characters were well fleshed out and the writing style was very easy to get through. Charlotte Stein writes the sweetest romances ever, I’m so happy I was able to read this

It was cute, but not the best romcom I've read. It was entertaining. I don't think I would be picking it up in physical formate as it wasn't that great in my option.

I read a lot of romance and I need something special to blow me away and I just sadly couldn't get into this. I liked the representation of curvy main characters. This book was cute but nothing I'll be thinking about again.

Unfortunately, this one was a miss and I did DNF at about 60%.
I will be giving When Grumpy Met Sunshine 2 stars as I made through over 50%, but it wasn't without some struggle.
I did not find myself reaching for or enjoying this one. I didn't care for the characters and the banter felt forced and immature. That being said, the cover is beautiful and is what caught my eye to begin with - which is was it's supposed to do after all!
Thank you St. Martins Press and NetGalley for the arc, I am sorry this one just wasn't for me.

I dnf'd this at 13% because i couldn't stand to go on anymore. I hated the characters. They were super annoy and I really hate when someone automatically thinks what someone is saying is a dig on them being plus sized. I also do not enjoy the writing. Super wordy.

This was a fun rom-com. I loved the plus-size representation. I enjoyed both main characters, Alfie was shy and reserved while Mabel was the total opposite. I did find the book slow at the beginning, but once Alfie and Mabel connected, it started to pick up. I loved their banter.

this was alright. i did enjoy reading it but it wasn't amazing. was a cute romantic comedy and i liked the fmc especially since she was a curvy girl. not much else to say about the book though :/

This book has been on my Netgalley for a bit and I haven’t picked it up. I haven’t been into romance in a minute, so I’m not the right person to review it anymore.

A very cute, fun rom-com for me as an obsessive Premier League soccer fan! The relationship was realistic and mature, and I loved that the characters communicated like real adults rather than let too many misunderstandings go unaddressed. I really enjoyed this one and look forward to more from this author.

This book is bloody hilarious. I found myself laughing out loud repeatedly. I could exactly picture the footballer, of course, and his gruff mannerisms. I was sad that they missed out on a year of one another, but it seemed liek perhaps they both needed that time to find themselves. I'm always a fan of the happy ending!

This story is packed with witty banter, heartfelt moments, and an electric slow-burn chemistry, this novel is the epitome of feel-good romance with an irresistibly steamy twist. The fake-dating trope is a delightful addition to the narrative, providing both hilarious and heart-melting moments as Alfie and Mabel navigate their pretend relationship. Perfect for readers who love a grumpy-sunshine dynamic, fake dating, and romance that will leave you grinning from ear to ear.

Unfortunately, this book wasn’t for me. I had a hard time getting into the story, and the characters didn’t quite click with me the way I’d hoped. While I can see the charm some might find in the grumpy-sunshine dynamic, it just didn’t resonate with me personally.

I almost DNFed several times, but then something would happen that would bring me back in. Sadly, those moments weren’t enough to save the book.
This was a kind of grumpy sunshine with fake dating. I liked the general premise of the book, but I felt like the execution was lacking.
I liked the details we got about the background of our main characters. I felt like it gave them depth and added to the story. I also felt like they truly cared for each other, and their relationship grew throughout the book.
Sadly, the dialogue (both spoken and inner) was really weird and times. There were a few places where it felt awkward and/ or incomplete. Maybe it is supposed to be that way and I am just unfamiliar with that speech pattern, or perhaps some of that has been smoothed out in the final version of the book, but it did not work for me.
There was spice towards the end, but it felt kind of disconnected from the rest of the book.
I really wanted to like this one more, but it missed the mark for me.
