Jesse really came through with this book, right from the start it immediately grabbed my attention. I love a messy, female character and this book isn't short of them!! The twists and turns were great and we'll thought through, I didn't expect them at all. Loved the settings throughout too, Oxford, New York and Montauk are great locations for a bit of psychological murder and obsession!!

I've really enjoyed Jesse Sutanto's other books and while I'm Not Done Yet isn't my favourite, it did hook me in.
Although the main character would call herself a sociopath, it didn't feel overly 'thrillery'. But I ended up quite liking the main character and I was intrigued as to where the story was going. I feel like this would be quite good on the big screen? Seeing the drama come to life and maybe more of a focus on the aftermath of events.

This book was interesting: part drama and part thriller. In fact, the thriller part doesn’t show up until near the end. This is the reason it lost a star, as I was wondering when the excitement would start. That being said, the writing is highly engaging, with dark humor sprinkled throughout, and I didn’t mind waiting until near the end for the explosions. Her writing is that good! Thank you to Berkley (miracle I got a Berkley book!) and NetGalley for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review. I enjoyed this!

I have heard good things about the authors previous novel Very Wong’s Unsolicited advice for murderers, so I was intrigued by her new novel I am not done with you yet.
Jane has an unhappy life. Born from a single mother who gave more attention to her boyfriends than her daughter. Now an adult she is s struggling as an author and her marriage to Ted.
So, she discovers a person from her past who only really cared about her that she met at Oxford nine years ago on a master’s degree Creative writing course now a New York Bestselling author Thalia Ashcroft with a book called ‘A Most Pleasant death’ which has some resembles of her university days. Jane’s obsession with Thalia resurfaces and decides that she must see her. By searching the internet Thalia so happens to be at a book convention in New York City. So, she takes out her credit card and books her flight. To her annoyance of her husband Ted who surprises her and tells her that he is coming with her. What will happen when Jane meets Thalia again. Will she be happy to see her or will its open old wounds of what happened all of them years ago?
Thank you, HQ, for a copy of Jesse Q, Sutanto latest offering. This is my first book from the author that I have read. I found this to have a slow start showing us the days of Jane’s and Thalia’s days at university and maybe a bit repetitive at times. I only really got fully invested in this story in part 3. Where we discovered the two characters abilities and what they really thought of each other. This is a cat and mouse story with lots of twists and turns, with a clever conclusion at the end 4 stars from me.

The best way I can describe this book is as a Yellowface and YOU crossover. I’m Not Done With You Yet gives us the main characters, plain Jane, who is a sociopath that meets Thalia in a Creative Writing masters programme. When Jane sees Thalia’s name years later on a best sellers list, Jane is determined to not let Thalia slip away from her again.

The themes explored include being Asian at Oxford, although definitely not to the extent Kuang explores it in Babel. Sutanto’s exploration is more basic, tying in with being a social outcast. Female friendship is also explored in this book but definitely not the kind of lighthearted dynamics with Chinese-Indonesian cultural overlays that Sutanto is known for, but instead the friendships are deeply dark and toxic, full of subterfuge, manipulation, and some light stalking.

To be honest, although the novel is mostly written from the perspective of a sociopath, I actually found the main character worrisomely relatable. Always the inadequate one in a crowd, I identified with Jane hard.

Full of twists, I actually feel that the ending was one twist too many
The plot twists and turns a lot. Every time I thought I was safe in my knowledge of what was happening, I’d get reading whiplash and would be catapulted in another direction whilst, just as the title of this book, the plot screams ”I’m not done with you yet”. I actually thought that the ending was one twist too many.

Despite this, I flew through the story. Whenever I see Sutanto’s name on a book, I get genuinely excited to read it. This is different to the other books I’ve read by her, but is still very entertaining. Vera Wong may give unsolicited advice to murderers, but I would visit the world of Im Not Done With You Yet to gain advice on how to carry out a murder.

I’m not done with you yet centres round Jane and Thalia, two friends who met whilst studying creative writing at Oxford. The book explores their toxic friendship and themes of obsession as well as personality disorders. The book includes two timelines: one present day and the other nine years in the past in Oxford.

I enjoyed the pacing of this book and found it very quick to get through. This book had all the potential to be amazing and had so many aspects that I usually love in a thriller including dual timelines and multiple points of view. However I felt that the different voices weren’t distinct enough and a lot of the plot twists were quite predictable.

Overall this was an okay read and I’m excited to read more of Sutanto’s work.

Jesse Sutanto has done it again. I just love her writing so much and this is no exception in my eyes. Even though it's a different genre to usual, it's filled with the same wit as always.

It's an amazing psychological thriller and it will keep you guessing until the end. I loved that the characters were sociopaths – I always find them so fascinating. So many twists and turns and just kept me guessing the whole way!

From the very first page, the tension is palpable, and the plot twists and turns in unexpected ways, making it difficult to put the book down. The characters are well-developed and the author does an excellent job of keeping the reader guessing as to who can be trusted and who is hiding something. The writing style is gripping and evocative, making it easy to visualise the scenes and feel the emotions of the characters. The author's attention to detail and ability to create a believable world adds to the overall experience of the book. Overall, this is an excellent example of the thriller genre. It's a page-turner that will keep readers guessing until the very end and is sure to satisfy fans of the genre. Highly recommended for anyone who loves a good suspenseful read.

The E-Book could be improved and more user-friendly, such as links to the chapters, no significant gaps between words and a cover for the book would be better. It is very document-like instead of a book. A star has been deducted because of this.

This is a first for me by the author and one I enjoyed and I would read more of their work. The book cover is eye-catching and appealing and would spark my interest if in a bookshop. Thank you to the author, publisher and Netgalley for this ARC.

This is my first Jesse Q. Sutanto read and even though I didn’t love it, I do really want to read more by this author as I really enjoyed their writing style.

Fans of You will really enjoy this book as the main character, jane’s, obsession with Thalia, who she hasn’t seen in nine years is very similar to that of Joe Goldberg.

I liked the twists in this book that began around 70% of the way through when the POV switched to Thalia. Before these twists started, the book was lagging as Jane’s life and opinions were extremely repetitive.

I absolutely loved this psychological thriller I could not put it down. There was lots of twists and turns which kept me hooked. The characters were well written i actually grew to like them all.

Jane is in a very unhappy marriage. As a writer she is struggling with paying the bills. Jane feels nobody really understands her she only ever had one person who understood her was her best friend Thalia. Jane and Thalia were friends while at Oxford. But their friendship ended one night never to be rekindled until now. Jane starts searching for her friend but does Thalia what Jane to find her or has she been looking for Jane.

Great story which I highly recommend.

I’ve read and loved all of Sutanto’s previous books, but this one was so different! Much more intense instead of humorous. It reminded me a lot of the You series by Caroline Kepnes in style but it still contained those spots of humour that I know and love in Sutanto’s work.

I think the main thing I took from this was how RELATABLE some of the feelings of these women were, especially for a woman who is also pretty fed up with inequality and so on. But adding the layer of mental illness/disorders on top of this was genius.

The twists and turns were unpredictable, I’ve never gasped audibly so much at a thriller. I’m truly in awe and would very much love to see a sequel…because i don’t think I’m Done With these characters Yet…(if you get me!)

People thinking being a writer is going to be such a glamorous job. With stories flowing easily from your mind in whirring colours as you produce hit after hit and the royalties come rolling in. But life is never really quite as it seems is it and things are never as easy as you want them to be. Jane is finding this out and she is caught in an unhappy place. The words aren't coming, she is trapped in an unhappy marriage, they barley have two coins between them to rub together and so they are struggling to pay the bills and their mortgage and life really isn't anything like she planned it would be. There was only ever one person who truly understood Jane and who she really is. That person is Thalia however after a fateful night at the formal at Oxford university they went their separate ways. Now Thalia is topping all the book charts, her books are every where and she is a bestseller. Life is a dream for Thalia. That is until Jane comes back into her life.

A well written book, with a creepy feeling throughout.

YIKES! This one caught me off guard but reminded me a lot of Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen’s writing. This is a true psychological thriller and the writer has done a great job of keeping the reader engrossed, and while it took a few chapters to speed up, I was trapped inside trying to look for any bread crumbs the author may have left in order to figure it out. But nope… had to wait until the end. The characters were well developed, flawed and some were even devious and unlikable.

Jane is in a very unhappy marriage. As a writer she is struggling with paying the bills in a life she never really wanted to start with. The only person she ever felt understood her was her best friend Thalia. Jane and Thalia were friends while they attended a masters of creating writing course at Oxford a decade ago. Jane had anger issues and considered herself a sociopath in her Oxford days had really become obsessed with her friend. But their friendship ended one night, a night that should have never happened, a night that saw Thalia stay away from Jane from that point on. However now, many years later, Jane is searching for her friend and see that she has written a book that has done very well. Jane must now find Thalia and at any expense. But will Thalia find her first?

This is one of the best psychological thrillers to date for me that actually does not give away too much and the ending is very explosive. This is one I will buy for my friends and family….

Anyone who enjoys psychological thrillers will love this book. Three very awful, crazy and twisted women that I just wanted to slap. An unbelievable plot with so many misdirections that I had to go back in the book and re-read sections, and a satisfying ending. Some parts of the book were quite slow paced and I can’t say I enjoyed it but it was a good read! Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the opportunity.

This book is full of really unlikeable but well portrayed characters. Some real twisted and devious characters, full of dark histories, secrets and revenge. It's a bit of a slow burner, but I highly recommend you keep going.

This novel definitely drags its heels at the start and makes me want to yell “get on with it“ and suggest the author should have paid attention in Jane and Thalia’s first class at Oxford. The message of Thalia’s magic and those that fall under her spell is repetitive and goes on way too much, as does Janes fish out of Oxford waters.

Then, thankfully, although we are quite a way in, it gets better and I mean way better as it goes along. There are some darkly good punchy plot twists which keep you guessing and it becomes entertaining cat/mouse, hunter/prey shenanigans. These are very unlikeable, deeply flawed
but well portrayed characters and the toxic friendships are done extremely well. Jane’s husband Ted is an irritating person but maybe isn’t as bad as he seems alongside this lot. The sudden switch at 60 or so percent to Thalia’s point of you takes me by surprise, but we learn something that almost gives me whiplash!

Overall, once it gets going it’s a good read and one that fits perfectly when reclining by a pool on holiday.

This book grew on me, initially I found it a bit bumpy to get into, but slowly but surely, I couldn't put it down by the half way point. The twists and turns of the relationship dynamic between Thalia, Ani and Jane was interesting example of predator vs prey flipping back and forth, leaving us the reader questioning just who Jane can trust, if at all anyone. The open ending was right up my street as it left me thinking I wonder what happens next...surely another book to be had in this world setting...
