I loved this book! The main characters are so cute and the chemistry is perfect. I am in love with Maverick! I can't wait to read the rest of the books in the series.

I received this book as an arc and I’m sad to say that I did not like it really at all. Could be because I listened to the audiobook, and it was narrated terribly. But I didn’t really enjoy any aspect of this book either.

This was instalove, and it was crazy. This takes place in a span of less than a week and I’m baffled by that timeline. The characters are unlikeable. I also hate the miscommunication trope. Literally all of the problems in the book could have been solved if the characters talked to each other. Our FMC is a pick me, “nerdy” girl and is honestly insufferable.

The main characters CONSTANTLY talked about the size difference and age gap between each other and I also think that was incredibly annoying. I think I would have liked this one more if they dove into the subplot about Bridget’s ex-professor. Also the main plot had to do with a sex quiz, referencing 16 Candles, and I feel like we don’t hear much about it throughout the story.

This one was just a no from me, but if you enjoy instalove then this one is for you!

Thank you to Valentine PR for the arc of Man Hunt in exchange for my honest opinion! Available now.

Unfortunately this one just wasn't for me. I didn't feel a connection with either of the characters and wasn't invested in the storyline so found that I started skim reading. I'm sure there will be plenty of people that love this book but I'm just not one of them

Man Hunt is the first book in the On a Manhunt series. This book is told from dual points of view from Maverick and Bridgett.

Bridgett and Maverick meet at a coffee house when she spills coffee on him. When she shows up to work she's embarrassed, but even more embarrassed when she realizes he is her boss.

Her friends have her fill out this form for their girl's night and she accidentally emails it to Maverick. When she goes to trash it he has already seen it. This is where the book really begins.

Maverick sees the email and immediately wants to teach Bridgett things. I wasn't sure how I felt about some things that happened in this book which is why I gave it 4 stars. I did enjoy it, and getting to know both Maverick and Bridgett.

"Manhunt" by Vanessa Vale is a steamy and suspenseful romance that will keep you on the edge of your seat. A thrilling adventure with a deliciously passionate love story.

He's Prince charming with the patience of a Saint. She is skittish from her present and past circumstances. They had a sweet meet cute and I love that he embraced the pink. Trouble always brews when secrets are kept and you shut someone out without listening. It was a quick read and I enjoyed the story. It is an age gap that's about 15 years. The family and friends really rounded out the story and we can't forget the sweet loyal dog. This is setting it up to be a great series.

This was a really fun, sexy book full of great characters. It was also a really great start to this series. While I loved the main characters in this book, the author did an awesome job introducing the friends and family who will be shown more in the next few books.

I have no issues with age gaps in books, but what I didn’t love was all of the references to it. She’s a 22 year old woman with experience in life, not a fresh out of high school teenager, but that’s how it felt sometimes. I think I expected the work dynamic to be more of the ‘issue’ but that honestly didn’t seem mentioned a ton overall.

Okay so this was hot. It seemed to be more steam than plot for a good chunk of the book. The praise was so good. “I respect you but I’m going to fuck yup like I don’t” I mean… sir. I’m all kinds of flustered.

I would definitely recommend this. I like Vanessa Vale’s writing, and I think this would be a fun story to continue. I listened to the audiobook while reading the eBook and personally didn’t love the audiobook, but that’s okay! That’s totally a personal opinion, that others may not agree with.

Thank you to the publisher & NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review a copy of this book! I voluntarily read this book, and all thoughts and opinions are my own.

3.5 stars. So this take on one of my fav movies, 16 Candles, had parts that I loved but also parts I didn't care for. Like the movie it's based off of, it has some funny parts, which were enjoyable. Unfortunately, like the movie, it had instalove. I didn't mind the characters, and the supporting cast were entertaining. I really would have liked to have known what "karma" brought to the professor, while hinted at, it felt like a thread dropped. Last, and this was a big one, the big end of story conflict had me doubting our MMC, and his sincerity of feelings and overall intelligence. Overall, an entertaining read that puts a nice modern theme on an 80's comedy. *I received an ARC of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review.

Cute premise harking back to the 1980s ‘Sixteen Candles’ movie. Lots of adult scenes. Likable characters with personality. The ending was also very cute and a great lead in to the next book.

Hot and steamy workplace romance!

Bridget spills iced coffee all over this super hot lumberjack of a man who ends up being her billionaire boss at the company she works at. Things get even more awkward when she accidentally emails him a sex quiz that was meant to be sent to her bestie for their girls night out. Maverick James, 37 and a billionaire can’t hide his attraction to his 22 year old employee who he finds to be smart, beautiful and very guarded. He’s determined to make all of her wildest fantasies come true — and in the process, make her his.

If you want to read a quick and steamy romance, read this book!

For me, I’m more interested in a plot and the build up to the romance but I found this to be an enjoyable read with lots of great spice.

Tropes:
Age-gap
Nerdy FMC
Possessive MMC
Size difference
Insta-lust

Manhunt, by Vanessa Vale, was a freakin' trip. It has a ton of tropes, and the spice was pretty good! I feel like the spice was teetering on the edge of great, because there was talk of certain actions, but no follow-through.

The plot was fair, and all in all, this was about as enjoyable as watching an episode of reality TV with some good-bad takeout (you know, the kind you crave but it makes your stomach hurt but you still order it anyways).

I don't believe this book underwent sensitivity reading, though, and it would have benefited from that. The way the female character talk to each other is, at times, frankly awful. There's no respect. There's put-downs for both being "girly" and not being girly enough, there's body shaming, there's some pretty unpleasant conversations around food ("Just eat this donut!" "No, I gained three pounds!"), suggesting a woman needs makeup and fancy clothes to be attractive, there's also both critique and praise for being smart (as we are reminded nearly every page our FMC went to MIT and has hypercalculia... she's a savant). There's also some rather cringey comments towards men, their masculinity, their bodies, and multiple comments about the MMC being attractive "despite" wearing a pink shirt.

In truth, this is a 2.5 for me. It was enjoyable enough to where I wolfed it down in three days, but it was problematic at times and clumsy in others. That being said, if the others are free on KindleUnlimited or something... I'd probably read 'em. With my bad takeout food, just like I watch Real Housewives.

This is the first of a new series by Vanessa Vale. The James brothers are taking Hunter Valley by storm. Bridget is at a crossroads in her life, and Maverick finds every alpha fiber in his body ignited when he meets Bridget. Their story is unexpected and fun to read

The beginning of Vanessa Vale’s new series captured me from page one and didn’t let go until the final page. Man Hunt is a fun, laugh out loud read about a common denominator, a woman and her boss. Vanessa has taken her characters, Bridget and Maverick and tells their story of an office romance that starts with a sex quiz, how great is that! With references to one of my favorite 80’s movies, Bridget is just about to catch her own Jake Ryan.

This book wasn’t for me, there were just so many things that I didn’t like. The book started out as a solid 3-star read but over time it got bad and honestly I don’t even know where to start.

First of all, this book is the epitome of insta-love, which is something I don’t tend to enjoy and it wasn’t any different with this book. The two main characters meet in a coffee shop for the first time and talk for about 5 minutes, and in these 5 minutes they nearly come in their pants just from looking at each other. He also starts calling her Baby at this time, which I didn’t find sexy at all, it only had my eyes rolling. Hard. There are so many moments where I think the relationship is progressing way way way too fast, that I can’t talk about all of them here. It wasn’t good.

Then there are the main characters. Maverick is obsessed with Bridget after he reads her answers to the sex quiz, which in all honesty was such a vanilla quiz for women in their 20s. He is overprotective and very focused on the fact that he will be the first (and only) man to give her orgasms. Bridget itself was at first an okay MC, but after a while it got so bad with her. She is super insecure, nearly every thought of her is that she’s not good enough, that she has to be sorry for absolutely normal things, like saying hello, it was way too much. All I wanted to do was slap her.

By the time we got to the third act drama, I was so over it that I thought about quitting. I was mad at everything and I really didn’t care if they would have a HEA. The drama itself would have been dissolved in 5 minutes, but of course there had to be miscommunication. Why let the characters talk about something, when you can easily drag this story for a few more chapters?

I won’t be reading anything more in this series. We get a small glimpse of the next couple, Mavericks brother and Bridget’s sister. He looked at her one time and knows he will marry her now, of course. It’s just not something I’ll enjoy.

Man Hunt is the first in a new series by Vanessa Vale this is an insta- lust/love, boss/employee, and big age gap tropes all in one book. This was a quick read with some parts that I enjoyed and others parts that made me cringe. I liked that that heroine is owning her intelligence and that the MMC loves that about her and doesn't try to tear her down but is impressed by her brain. This is very open door so be ready for major spice level. I also want to know what happens to the other brothers of the MMC so I'm on board with this series but this one is just okay for me.

I've never read anything from Vanessa Vale before, but I really enjoyed MANHUNT. The storyline was interesting and I felt that I was easily able to connect with the characters. I am a huge fan of small-town romance so I like that element too. Maverick and Bridget's story was a fairly quick read and I think I would have liked it even more had it been longer and their relationship was allowed to develop more rather than being "insta-love"

I really enjoyed this book.

I thought that it had a well developed and good storyline and some excellent characters.

It was a sexy and steamy read right from the very beginning.

It is 4 stars from me for this one - highly recommended!

Oh my goodness! This is my new favorite series! I'm so excited that I was able to read this and find the others on Amazon!

This book was a quick, spicy and fun read so if you’re looking for that, this is a book you’d enjoy. Just bear in mind there’s a lack of plot. The story was a little over the top, and too fast for me, as insta love isn’t my type of thing.

This was the first book I've picked up by Vanessa Vale but I'm definitely interested in the rest of the books in this series...which I will be going to grab once I write this review!

This installment introduces us to Bridget and Mav. Both are solid characters and I loved how they met. It was definitely lust at first sight for these two and while Mav has the alpha tendencies, he doesn't push them in a negative way. I loved the whole sex quiz thing and how that led to more between these two. The fact that Mav has 3 other brothers just as alpha and good looking has me motivated to grab those up.

If you're looking for a sexy romance that will keep you turning the pages, consider picking this one up.
