I received an e-arc of this book through Netgalley, thank you for giving me a chance to review in exchange for an honest review with my own thoughts and opinions.

I first found this series as a deal on booking to get free book back in 2014 and it stuck with me so much that when I saw an Anniversary edition on Netgalley my finger clicked request before I even fully processed this.

What’s special about this anniversary edition is that there are beautiful pictures of places in the book and scenes that I can only imagine would be even more beautiful in print. I’m definitely going to have to get my hands on this set, for the artwork.

However regarding the book itself, the reason I love this series so much is that the premise is so unique. A girl that is part demon, part Angel (with a dragon’s tail) can move souls to Heaven or Hell, and has to fight evil alongside her hot, handsome, and incredibly handsome boyfriend who is the Prince of the part human part Angel race called Thrax. The heroine is a strong, clever women who can fight her own battles and whose moral compass is delightful in that although she always giving chances but isn’t afraid to make the decision. That is extremely evident in this book especially.

In this book specifically, we have Mya learning the ropes of being the Scala and all the challenges that come with being one of the most powerful beings, and those who would wish to take her place. I loved this series and will continue on, because there are some sequels I did not know about!!

Myla is the Great Scala but cannot do her job. Adair is hindering everything she tries to do. If she doesn't find the "Orb", the soul columns will explode. This is a fast paced adventure through Purgatory that kept me on the end of my seat. The characters are interesting and more of Myla's history is revealed. The intrigue and twists plus the varied characters keep your interest. I truly enjoyed this series and would love to see more of Myla and Lincoln.

It was great to read this anniversary edition of the Scala novel from Christina Bauer. I had enjoyed the first edition of the book and enjoyed the new epilogue going on. It was just as well written and the characters worked in the world that I was glad to read. It’s always a joy to read from Christina Bauer.

Fun!!
This is book 2 of the Angelbound Origins series and I loved seeing these characters have further adventures.
I listened to the audiobook and really enjoyed the narration by the author. She brings such life to the characters.
Only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is I figured out the "bad guy" and because the audio had some issues. Several parts repeated like it was missed in the editing process. Took me out of the story, so to speak.
The story itself tho, really good and I will definitely continue the series.
