As a Agatha Christie fan I'm always interested in reading crime novels from a similar time. This is the first in the Lord Peter Whimsey series, and whilst it does have an undeniable elegance, charm and wit I'd still rather pick up a Poirot.

I have since read further books in the series and I will admit they do rather grow on you.

I have been wanting to read a Sayers for quite some time now and I am glad that I finally took the plunge. Lord Peter and his valet, Bunter, make quite the dynamic duo in solving this crime. It was also nice to see the reciprocal relationship between Wimsey and Parker. An amateur sleuth who also loves collecting old Books-- count me in. I will definitely be reading more in this series.
