This story starts with a tragedy and ends up with Annie falling in love with two men. Her grandfather wants her to come to spain and enjoy sailing. Annie decides to use the time to hunt for her missing father who is in the diplomatic service. An okay story that I finished but struggled .

This book was quite a ride. Long and full of stories means you definitely get your money’s worth. It has parts that are fantastical as the main character makes choices that are reckless and foolish. Additionally, it seemed like the author was just wanting to describe the places rather than tell the story at times. Overall an okay read.

This was truly a story about the restorative benefits of travel. The main character, Annie, is involved in a boating accident with her cousin. She becomes depressed and goes to visit her grandparents in Spain, Her grandfather arranges for her to tour using his yacht. From there, she travels to many exotic places. There is some intrigue as her father, a diplomat, has been missing for a couple of years, and this figures into her journey as well.

The descriptions of exotic places are very well done, What didn’t work for me was Annie’s story. . I found that yachts, friends, men, and experiences just fell into her lap. Her travel diary chalks this up to the universe leading her to her destiny,, but I just could not feel a connection with her character and skimmed the last half of the book.
