This book started off very well and I really liked the first few chapters. About half way through the story I found the characters were all very similar and it just didn’t have the fast paced twists and turns I was expecting. In saying that not s bad story and would make an ok holiday read.

This book follows Marla, Sonya, and Athena. All three women were involved with a man named Damon. He tells them each what they want to hear. Damon is in a terrible accident, and the story is woven around this until we come to a conclusion about what actually happened.

This was a quick read. It’s relatively short, and does have a good narrative to it. The characters were pretty one dimensional, but it worked for the novel. I loved the multiple POV and the fourth person who we didn’t find out fully about until the end. The epilogue was also good!

Overall, I’d recommend this as a quick, easy to read thriller with a good ending.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my copy of this book.

Damon is a cheat. His long suffering wife is aware of many affairs. Then something changes. Damon is hit by a car and left for dead on his hospital bed. The story then tells the tale of wife, pregnant mistress and two time lover/therapist. What do they know, but more importantly what did they do.

I enjoyed this book. Told from the point of view of each woman chapter by chapter. Switching from the current day to the past we slowly learn what has happened. A slow burner but very satisfying when we got the end. A tale of revenge where you can totally sympathise with the women!

Sadly this wasn‘t „mine“. Neither the non-stop-telling writing style nor the characters gripped me. Going with the amount of positive reviews I think I can end this review with the result that a book and a reader not always built the connection needed to go along well with each other.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for providing the copy!

Thank you Netgalley for this arc! This is my first book by Nicole Trope, and I was blown away. I love the writing style of the book and it kept me on the edge of my seat. I was back and forth between so many different scenarios, and I did not guess it at the end. 5 stars for me.

How did a man with a wife and multiple mistresses think it was going to end?

I loved this. While when I requested it, it was marketed as a thriller and now has changed out of that genre it is a very good read.

Confrontation and an accident, believeable responses and sterling narration make this a one sitting book.

Wooooh!!! This book just got better and better as it went on. Holy smokes did I dig myself into this book and not let go. Expertly written just enough wonder to make you second and even third quess yourself. Perfect chapter length and buildup on all characters. Brilliant.

Thanks to the author, the publisher and NetGalley for an early release of this book.

This is the second book I read by Nicole and I really enjoyed. Damon is a married man who has multiple lovers and ends up in a coma. There is just so much going on, you can’t put the book down! It was interesting to read multiple point of views of the wife and lovers. It was a very well written book. Thank you NetGalley, Nicole and Bookouture!

A wife discovers her husband has cheated on her. She decides to confront him alongside two of his mistresses. An accident happens. What really happened? Will her husband be okay? Does she want him to be okay? Delve into this thriller to learn more about Damon, the man in the accident. This book was a fast paced, intriguing thriller as I tried to piece together what really happened.

This was gold. I loved every word. We have a whole group of very different women and one man who is sleeping with all of them.
And then he gets hit by a car on a busy street around lunch time on a rainy day and no one knows how it happened.
It is very twisty but mostly I loved hating him, because I love to hate the husbands.
Thank you for this ARC.

I loved this book! Nicole Trope's writing style truly makes you feel like you're in the scene with the characters. I loved every character, I loved the suspense and the doubt I felt towards every person. Another 5 star read!

The Truth about the Accident by Nicole Trope is a domestic drama set in the aftermath of a hit and run.

Damon is struck by a car one morning while out walking, and the driver does not stop. There are several witnesses, however, and the emergency calls come in immediately. With Damon in a coma, it is up to the police to piece together what has transpired. Damon's wife Marla learns of the accident on the news, and knows instinctively that her husband is the unidentified man. But Marla is not the only woman who will receive life-altering information on this fateful day.

I did find the multiple POVs to be a little confusing at first, though it is an effective device for this particular narrative. While the story kept me enjoyably engaged, it is not my favourite from the author. That being said, I very much look forward to whatever comes next from the immensely talented Ms Trope.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for an ARC.

This did not really work for me sadly, I felt like all three women were a bit too similar and I didn't really feel the sense of suspense of thrill I expect from this genre. I think this would have worked better with a faster pace and maybe more twists but I guessed the ending too early on to make me fully enjoy this. However I do think this is well written and I will enjoy other books by this author, just sadly this one was not for me.

This was my second book by Nicole Trope and I'm looking forward to reading more. I really enjoyed the multiple POVs. I was a little confused at the beginning by who everyone was, but once I figured that out, the book kept me hooked. We hear from the wife, mistress, therapist and a mystery POV, with many twists throughout the book.

Love Triangle Whodunit With A Splash Of Revenge 🤵🏼‍♂️👰🏼‍♀️🚗 🧍🏻‍♀️🧍🏼‍♀️…🧍🏻‍♀️
I really love Nicole Trope’s books. Her signature multiple points of view that all intertwine with a good twist thrown in, make all her books page turners for me.
The wife
The mistress
The therapist
And, the man who was hit by a car in the pouring down rain.
Will he live? Who hit him? And, who ends up with him in the end?
Thanks so much to @Netgalley for this ARC.
Look for this one out June 30th!

This is my first of Nicola Trope's books, but I've had a read of some of the other blurbs and they all sound really interesting.

There are three main points of view: Marla, Sonia and Athena. At first, you do have to concentrate on who is who and how they're related to the story, but once you've sorted that, then you get the hang of it. Unfortunately, I have to say I didn't particularly like any of them, I had no sympathy for them being in the situation they were, they were too whiny and they all acted like the victim, and so I didn't really care about their stories, individually or as a collective.

There's many secondary characters: wives and husbands, lovers, siblings, friends, colleagues, children strangers - all going round this complicated rollercoaster, and I found myself forgetting who some of them were.

Like I say, I've not read her books before, but reading other reviews, I can see she's generally considered to be an excellent writer, but this felt off. It feels a bit basic, with no emotion, like she had been filling out a template of how to write a book.

It's not quite the whodunnit thriller I was expecting. Maybe I misjudged the genre. But it wasn't fast-paced, in fact it was quite slow and a bit...tepid.

It feels a bit repetitive at times. There's not much going on. I've always said I prefer character development over plot, which would be find as there's not much plot here, but for me there's wasn't any character development either. It didn't seem to go anywhere.

I also found the ending a bit off. The last 10-15% felt like a completely different book and it felt rushed, like the author didn't know how to finish it so just wrote anything to get it done. Sadly, overall, this wasn't the book for me.

On a dreary weekday morning in the pouring rain, Damon is struck by a hit-and-run driver and now lies in a coma, clinging to life. Damon appears to be a family man, married with two kids, but it turns out his wife Marissa isn’t the only woman in his life. The police are investigating and while there’s little evidence to go on, there’s no shortage of suspects who might have had it out for Damon.

Nicole Trope is an absolute queen of emotional and suspenseful multiple POV stories. We have the betrayed wife, the pregnant mistress, the therapist, and a mysterious fourth perspective. Each of them seems to have motive and opportunity, and Damon is such a snake that you can’t blame them. The characters were so well developed and I had no trouble keeping them straight. Although this one is more of a revenge drama than a thriller, the conclusion was still clever and shocking! Perfect for fans of Liane Moriarty and Sally Hepworth.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for providing me an advance copy of this book.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this book. Nicole Trope does it again! A quick paced thriller and I am glad I was along for the ride! A man who has a wife, a mistress and a lover gets hit by a car. Was it an accident? Each chapter kept me on the edge of my seat and I already can’t wait for her next book! Great twist at the end also.

Another great read by the amazing Nicole Trope. She is so creative and always keeps me turning pages way past my bedtime. Well told, with multiple POVs that had me hooked early on. And what a great cast of characters! Always a creative go to author for a tense and exciting read.
Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book

Quick, easy, suspenseful, and enjoyable read! The main characters were likable and I enjoyed reading from their 3 different perspectives. I think that the author did a great job of keeping the suspense up throughout the book, I was not bored once while reading this!

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC of this book :)
