I love this author's books. They are always about one or more families and their every day life. You are invited to watch them going through the motions and laugh and cry with them. The stories are often interwoven with heartbreak and sadness, but also with happy moments and they always hold some suspense that keeps you guessing until the end.

The 3 POV form the structure of a great and easy to read book.

It was very easy to loathe Damon. It's true that a handsome face can get you anywhere, but there are limits to your behaviour, aren't there?

And then there is Marla, Damon's wife. On the one hand I don't know why she puts up with all his shenanigans and on the other hand I do understand why she does.

I love it when a plan comes together, but sometimes a plan starts living it's own life...

Once you know the truth about the accident, the author has another trump card up her sleeve. 5 stars

Thank you

I have read some of Nicole Trope’s books before and loved them but this one just didn’t do it for me.
There wasn’t really any twists and this was definitely not a thriller and at times I was bored, however the very end was very shocking.

Thank you NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest opinion.

Damon Kennedy has just been involved in a hit and run accident and is hanging by a thread. He is at the hospital with who appears to be his loving wife, but all is not what it seems. No one is able to tell who hit him, it was raining so hard and the street cameras caught nothing, so what is the truth?

I really enjoyed this family drama thriller. The story is told through 4 different POV with 3 of them being people we know and 1 being a secret till the end. The author does a great job at keeping you hooked through the whole build up of the story then taking you on a rollercoaster ride the last few chapters and culminating in a surprising epilogue.

Things I liked:
1) The 4 POV and past/present timelines were not confusing at all and very well written.
2) The secret character had me guessing, i truly was surprised at who it was in the end.
3) The revenge plot, and getting to see who Mr Kennedy truly is.

Things I didn't like:
1) there is nothing I didn't like really. It would have been nice to have an insight into what the detectives actually thought but she did a great job at giving us hints into their thoughts.

One day it is raining so hard that street cameras are unable to see clearly. A man is the victim of a hit and run.
But no one can identify who hit him or what actually happened.
Damon Kennedy is near death in a hospital bed. He is a wealthy man who is married to his trophy wife who loves her life. With two kids ready to fly the nest Damon also has many lovers. But his life is not what it seems and more than one person wants him dead.
The story is told from different points of view which gives a good in sight into the unfolding story. Once again Nicola Trope has delivered a gripping book.
Many thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for an opportunity to see an ARC

Another great book by Nicole Trope. An accident , one man and 3 women or is it 4? Who caused the accident, was it actually an accident or deliberate and if it was why?
Lots of drama and a good ending.
Highly recommended

Thank you net galley and publisher for this ARC. Thank you Nicole Trope for writing another amazing book! I couldn't put the book down once I started reading. The story moved quickly and left me wanting to know what had really happened in the accident and what was going to happen next. I will be recommending this book!

"The Truth About The Accident" is a book about 4 women who are being played by 1 man.
It is a little confusing in the beginning as each chapter alternates between the women but you get used to it after a few chapters as it starts to make sense and works with the style of the story. That being said the book is a little on the predictable side for me but it has a good ending.
I have read a few books by the author (Nicole Trope) and I wouldn't say this is one of her best.

Thank you to Netgally, Bookature, and Nicole Trope for allowing me to read this advanced copy. All opinions are my own.

Nicole Trope ALWAYS writes these mind-bending, twisted novels that I can't read fast enough to find out what happens. I love her books, and this one is no different . I devoured it within hours!

This is a story of revenge on a wealthy married man who has many lovers

Damon Kennedy is in the hospital hanging on by a thread with what appears to be his loving wife by his side. He's the victim of a hit and run accident on a day it rained so hard that the cameras were unable to see who hit him.
Who fled the scene? Who wanted him dead?

But not everything is as it seems .

The story has multiple points of view, from the past and present, which are very easy to follow.

Characters so well developed that you will definitely end up hating a couple of them, and feeling sorry for the rest.
There is also a secret character who is not revealed until the end.
You will love the twists!

For fans of Frieda McFadden, Kiersten Modglin, etc you will enjoy Nicole Trope's books.

This is my second book by this author and I enjoyed it very much! Without spoiling the plot - "the accident" brings together the lives of three women done wrong by the same
man, who ultimately pays the price. The trader doesn't find out the truth in it's entirely until the very last pages which is always what keeps a good book going! Thank you again for the advance copy, I will continue to look for more titles from
This author and recommend to friends!

What a book!! Super fast paced and interesting story line

As Damon lies in the hospital, a victim of a road accident, the lives of three women seems to come to a standoff. Each if them has a grudge against Damon and atleast two wished him harm. In the shadows lurks another victim. Overall a great read. Loved the narration.

Thank you Bookouture and Netgalley for the ARC

The Truth about the Accident by Nicole Trope is more of a drama than a thriller. I have read books by this author and always liked them. Marla and Damon have been married for 21 years. They live a plush life which Marla loves. She's doing her best to fight aging, getting frequent Botox, constantly dieting, buying the best designer clothes, and exercising. They have 2 children who are almost grown so Marla soon will be facing an empty next. Damon is a serial cheater. He's been caught by Marla multiple times and she always forgives him. He claims they are one night stands and mean nothing to him. Now, Marla has had enough. This book introduces Athena, his current girlfriend who has lasted uch longer than his usual pick ups. We also have Sonya who is Damon's therapist.

The book begins with Damon getting run over is a very busy intersection on a day where it is pouring rain. He ends up in a coma with multiple bruises. As the book continues, we hear from Marla, Sonya, and Athena as multiple point of views.. We also hear from another woman, who is not identified.

I will say, I don't like books that start with the main event of the story. This book did that, and the rest was the 4 women telling their tales. We try to determine who ran over Damon that day, as all 3 women were at that intersection at the time of the accident. We hear about their relationships with Damon..... who is so good looking, it hurts. OK then. The end wasn't very shocking and really didn't make a lot of sense to me.

It was a well written book and interesting, but it was just not for me. Others will love this. I am more a thriller rreader than a drama reader. I had so many eye rolls, I actually got a headache. How beautiful Damon was, how he is constantly excused for his need to cheat because his job is stressful, how Marla can't eat a carb. Besides all of that, the book did draw me in and I kept reading. Thank you to Bookouture and Netgalley for the ARC. I truly appreciate it and do recommend this book although I do not think it should be labeled a thriller.

I have been walking on cloud nine since I received the approval for The Truth About the Accident .

I was first introduced to Nicole Trope, by the Bookstagram group. Everyone was obsessing over The Stay At Home Mother. There was no way I was going to miss out on what everyone else was swooning about so I hit request. That day began my love affair with Trope’s writing style .

Since then I make sure to stalk NetGalley for any new Trope releases.

When “The Truth About the Accident”, graced the screen, I once again, hit request.

The book gods were working in my favor and my request was granted.

My eyes got big and I devoured the book in just a few hours.

HOLY SMOKE! Trope has done it again, this book was absolutely fantastic!

The Truth About the Accident, was narrated with perfection, the plot was executed without being boring or dragged out and the characters were multi-dimensional and came alive before your eyes. The twist? Oh, well I cant tell you that without giving away the book!

Teaser:

I gaze at my husband’s once-handsome face, so still and pale in the hospital bed. The doctors say I should keep talking. He might be able to hear me even after the terrible accident that left him fighting for his life. But all I have to whisper to my husband is this: I know what you did.

Every day I wave my husband Damon off with a kiss and a smile, drive our precious children to school, and make sure our house is pristine before preparing a delicious meal. I pretend I’m not filled with fury that he once nearly destroyed our perfect life. It’s important to carry on as normal.

That is, until the accident.

My husband was hit by a car. It was pouring with rain. Nobody saw what happened. But the police are asking questions…

Do they know about the terrible argument we had that day?

Do they know about the text message I sent, telling someone to Delete everything?

And do they know that no-one is happier that my husband is in a hospital bed, than me?

Thank you netgalley and publishers for giving me an ARC!! I LOVED the first few pages and now each caller had different perspectives of seeing the same thing. It felt as if I was watching a show ( great job ) I love a book that has each chapter changing a characters perspective over time and It keeps me interested in the book. The characters were not very likable to me, especially Damon. The women in the book are not much better with the way they throw themselves at him, and accept what he is doing to them. The desperation of the women makes reading not as enjoyable for me at times. I didn’t like the twist at the end as much and felt it was sorta predictable.

This was the first book I’ve read from Nicole Trope and I definitely enjoyed the read. I liked how we were given the different POVs and especially the intrigue that the mystery POV provided. Damon was a very well written character in the sense that I absolutely hated him. Each woman in his life was also well written because I couldn’t decide who I felt worse for.
I do think is became very redundant- it is very obvious Damon is cheating on his wife with multiple women, it’s part of the entire plot, but it was mentioned so many times that it just felt unnecessary.
Overall I think it was a good book and an entertaining read.

This one was a page turner. The story is told from 4 POVs: Marla, Sonya, Athena, and a mystery person. I kept trying to figure out who the mystery person was, but couldn't figure it out until the reveal. That added a nice twist to the story. This book is full of revenge, affairs, and secrets. This one kept me guessing all the way until the end and the ending was great! Another 5 star read for me!

Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for a digital ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this book. The author did a wonderful job using four different points of view to create a singular storyline that keeps you guessing up until the very end. I will admit that I had an idea of where this was going, but the author took that basic concept and raised it to another level that I didn't see coming. The book is fast-paced and I didn't want to put it down until it was finished.

I'm giving this book 3 stars since the publisher reached out while I was reading it and changed it to "women's fiction" rather than a "thriller" I enjoy Nicole Trope's books and although it wasn't my favorite, it was still a good read. There aren't any surprises or twists but the different POVs worked well. I enjoyed the "unknown" POV and I really did want to know what happened, The conclusion was ok- again- I went into it thinking it was something else. But overall, I'd recommend it in this new genre.
