This is beautifully written with a story that will touch your heart. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Set in the modern day and war time Italy both of which are described in eloquent detail.

A beautiful, moving book, with lots of emotion in it. With a beautiful setting of the stunning Italy. It involved lots if history, lots of drama, secrets, family, love and finding yourself and who you really are.

I do love reading stories placed in Italy, and this one kept me until late in the night because I just had to read further. The story is touching, and emotional with well-developed characters that I felt them as realistic. I liked that the setting is a real place that does exist in Italy, all that history, great descriptions that helped me imagine vivid pictures about places, food, and tradition, and as the author wrote, it is well-researched with a lot of material used on that subject.

A wonderful told story of family secrets set both in Italy and Scotland. From two time periods (WWII and the present), two women are reconnected through their familiy histories. The descriptions of the Italian country side, the food, and the people are well written and will keep the reader engrossed until the ending. For lovers of historical women's fiction, this is a must read.

I really enjoyed this book, the characters and story were so engaging and I was totally wrapped up in it. The setting was really evocatively described and I loved the intertwining of the two stories and how it all came together at the end. Would recommend. Many thanks.

Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book. This beautifully written book combines two of my favorite genres, historical fiction and women’s fiction. The story’s dual timeline intertwining World War II and current day , tells the story of Giovanna and Emma, but it is also a love story involving the Italian landscape. The author’s vivid descriptions of the Italian mountains and surrounding towns made me feel like I was there, I truly enjoyed her writing style. I really enjoyed this story and I would highly recommend this book for anyone who enjoys historical fiction and family sagas.

This is a beautifully told fictional story of famiiy, love and Italy. The charcters are richly defined and all captivate the reader. The sweeping atmospheric telling of the culture , food and the people of Italy by the author draws the reader into Italy and leaves you with insight into all it has to offer the reader. The story is told through different timelines with rich history and charcters. I highly recommend this book for your reading enjoyment.

Thank you to the publisher and to Net Galley for the opportunity.
