Sometimes I really like reading memoirs, and sometimes they just feel like a long narrative. This one felt that way. There was a story here, but it was bogged down by lots of details and boating vocabulary. I think people who like long boat trips and dream of living on a sailboat will like this. I ended up skimming when I got to the 40% mark. The e-galley was hard to read, too, because the author is telling the story, as well as including his late wife's letters, but there was no way to tell which was his story and her letters until they used names or pronouns. I hope the finished copy has it clearly marked. I was interested in their story-who doesn't dream of leaving the rat race behind and living a slower life, but ultimately, this story wasn't for me.
