This book had me howling (pun intended). Kane is a wolf, just ask him, trapped in the body of a man after a human bit him. Searching for answers, with a keen sense of smell but an unfortunate driving and reading handicap, he enlists the help of the unlikely chauffeur, Emelda. Soon, the pair are off on quite an adventure -- saving one town at a time and explaining away Kane's strange behavior with "He's French-Canadian". I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this book, and am already itching to read the next in the series. Highly recommend!

This is book 1 of a series.
A "human" (we are not sure of this even to the end of the book) bites a wolf and essentially turns him into a WereHuman? What a funny twist on the usual! Kane's perspective is fascinating and funny to read. It was a nice change of pace for the main characters to be in a friendship with no romance involved.

This was such a great flip to what I was expecting, it was a great idea and I loved the idea of a wolf being bitten by a man and becoming a man. The story worked well overall and it had great horror elements going on in this. Dick Wybrow does a great job in creating this with the characters.

Dick Wybrow has yet again left his comfort zone and written yet another book in a totally new genre that's excellent.
From the start of the book the story and characters build into what I hope will become another new series for the author.
If you don't usually read books with Werebeasts in them don't be put off by the tagline it's actually a story of two people with unusual pasts becoming friends.
It starts as a slow burner but does keep building.
Worth picking up to read by the pool.

'Kane' was a completely different to my normal reads, but I thoroughly enjoyed it and the humour within.

Kane was once wolf, but ever since being bitten, he was transformed into a human - on a mission to find the man who bit him, with Emelda's help.

Kane's understanding of being human was hilarious, and the conversations between him and Emelda had me snorting in places!

Highly enjoyable read with humour, mystery, twists and turns with the 'pack of two'.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily - thank you to NetGalley and Dee Dub Publishing!

Kane by Dick Wybrow is another "can't put down" book from Mr Wybrow.
It seems that Kane was once a wolf but after being bitten by a strange human, he became a very tall French Canadian man - at least most of the time. He hires Emelda Thorne to be his driver and because he doesn't read well, to read for him as needed. Emelda takes the job to escape her current situation. She grew up "rough" and is stronger than she realizes.
Kane is searching for the guy that infected him with this thing that makes him human. All he really wants is to return to his pack. Kane knows that the guy was in a slightly unusual car with a bird on it. So they start visiting the classic car show circuit.
The search takes the reader on a wild ride with lots of twists and turns. Along they way, Kane and Emelda meet a variety of people, good and bad. Some of the good people help them along the way. But some of the bad people just seem to be pure evil incarnate.
Take this wild ride and enjoy the wild and very interesting ride that is a trademark of Wybrow's writing.

Thanks to Dick Wybrow, Dee Dub Publishing, and Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to review this book.
