A powerful story about a chapter in history that must be told. There are many twists throughout the plot which makes it a page turner.
Many thanks to Wild Rose Press and to Netgalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.

This was a great start to a great historical elements in this book. Jan Lloyd does a great job in creating a good story and the characters were what I was looking for. It left me wanting to read more in this universe.

Frances, a celebrated violinist flees France with her Jewish husband aboard a small ship that capsized. As the only survivor she struggles to save herself. When a German U boat rescues her, France finds herself falling for the captain. Upon reaching shore though Frances is arrested. This story is a story of survival and endurance. Interesting, but was hard to follow at times. The back and forth between reality and dreams was confusing.
