I was unable to finish this book unfortunately. I appreciate NetGalley and the publisher for giving me the ARC but this book was just not for me.

this was okay, but read a little juvenile and i didn't feel connected to the characters or what happens to them at all. i can see other reader enjoying this a lot tho!

Following the main character in his journey from early ears to maturity feels like a journey of the self - filled with love, revenge, bitterness and inspiration. The book is an emotional beauty and I definitely recommend it!

I enjoyed the premise of the book however felt that it was largely unfinished and in need of editing.
I found certain segments overly descriptive followed by other sections which were mostly unexplained. I felt that a prologue explaining the world and giving a bit of back story to the conflict may have been useful.
It is my understanding that the author's first language is not English and this may be the reason for some of this.
I was planning to continue to at least 10% to get a more through understanding of the book however the situation on page 27 relating to an assault put me off reading further. It felt thrown in without cause and was exceedingly violent to put in in such a manner.
I would be interested in rereading this after editing were this to happen as I feel that it has potential to be a good book but for now I would not recommend.

I was easily attached to the characters and felt the fluidity of the writing like a stream moving me. The cover is beautiful and so is the story. I love romances that aren't super in your face, and it felt like the chemistry between the characters was natural compared to other books I've read in the past.

'The Lone Lake of Glass Lilies' is unlike anything I've read before. If you need a reason to read this story, read it because of this beautiful cover. I can think of multiple people who would adore this book and I well definitely be recommending this. I also want to mention the little author note at the back, I love it when authors have their own Spotify playlist based on the book!!

I was hooked from the cover of this novel, it had everything that I was hoping for. Amber Schembri does a great job in the scifi genre and I loved the rest of the elements worked overall. It was a great story and I loved the characters overall.

Beautiful cover, promising title, but I unfortunately couldn't even make it through one page. I have no claim to be able to judge the story or the characters, but the writing was so overly descriptive it was way past excessive, and the sentences were so strung out I had forgotten the first part by the time I was in the middle. I found the format really difficult to read, too, and had to zoom in to navigate the pages. Sorry, but thanks for the opportunity, anyway.

Nice cover, interesting description but that’s was all. The story didn’t worked for me, too slow paced for my taste and the writing style feels off.
