This is a contemporary romance with a twist. The unattached smooth operator bachelor finds himself in a pickle when his ex-girlfriend leaves a newborn baby (he didn't know existed) at his front door. Chaos begins and family and friends are enlisted to assist. It's a short listen with one dilemma after another and a predictable outcome. Carly Robins did a fine job with the narration. Thank you to Net Galley and Dreamscape Media for this Audio ARC.

Oh Jamie Donovan...I'm sorry you had to go through some of these life changes but I think it ultimately brought out the best in you! I was itching for Jamie to figure out that Fallon wasn't his nemesis...but someone he was actually attracted to and admired.
Poor Fallon has been having a rough go of it...but those events ultimately led her back to Laurel Bay...and to Jamie Donovan.
I am so emotionally invested in the Donovan clan that it's not even a question of whether I will read the next book in the series or not.
I am also ALWAYS amazed at how Samantha brings the spice in a closed door/fade to black story...she has perfected the art of it.
Carly did such a fantastic job of bringing this story to life. Between her performance and Samantha's words it was magic.

Charm me is the fourth book in Samantha Chase’s the Donovan’s series set in fictitious Laurel Bay, North Carolina. This story revolves around Jamie Donovan, the family’s youngest son. Jamie works in the family’s pub, both behind the bar and in management, temporarily managing the pub as his parents take a well earned extended vacation. He is a charmer, a flirt, and a bit of a player as Jamie is never serious, and when he breaks things off he is done. This is why he just hasn’t taken or returned any phone calls from Jen, the last on a long list.
Meanwhile, Fallon Murphy, Jamie’s lifelong rival, has hit a low point in life. She has just been let go from the second job in a short period of time and sees no choice but to load up her meager belongings and head home from Texas to Laurel Bay. However, Fallon had forgotten about her parents’ trip with the Donovan’s until she calls her mom as she heads East. At least she will have a place to stay when she gets home even if there is no one to greet her. She does have her friends, the Donovan sisters, though.
On the Sunday morning after his parents leave, Jamie is awakened by the doorbell even though he had planned to sleep in. He opens it to see a car speeding away, and a mysterious bundle on his porch. Then the bundle moves and makes noise under its cover and Jamie stoops to discover a baby with a note from Jen introducing his son.
Jamie immediately contacts his siblings and their partners. He needs help, a lot of it! But he doesn’t realize his sisters will call on his sworn enemy, Fallon Murphy whose degree is in early childhood education, seeking the help he so needs!
This is another fun romp in the Donovan family. It is told with humor and heart and touches upon many social issues including mental health and depression. I did enjoy this story and do recommend it for followers of the genre.

This is the fourth book in The Donovan’s series, but could be read as a standalone. You interact with characters in previous books but you do not need to know them or their story to enjoy this book.
I loved getting to know Jamie Donovan more, especially in a different role than anyone thought he could handle. I also loved how Jamie and Fallon’s relationship developed. The narrators did a great job bringing this story to life.
There were a few times were both Jamie and Fallon not communicating properly just annoyed the hell out of me. But overall enjoyed the story!
Thank you Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for this audiobook. This is my honest voluntary review.

Finished this in 2 days and it was so worth it. I honestly couldn’t put it down and most of the time i was in shock over how intense Jamie was, he left me with my jaw on the floor more than once. In a way I felt like he could’ve had some more time to have growth and realize that he was approaching the situation in a more negative and vengeful way rather than thinking clearly and looking at all sides of the issue he was facing. I.also loved Fallon and how straightforward she was and understood that sometimes people needed to leave a situation so that all the chips could fall into place rather than stay and continue to fight especially when were far from getting to a solution. I also wish we could’ve gotten more from the mom of the baby as well.
Other than that i really had fun reading this and hope to get more stories of this couple

When Jamie's ex leaves his new born son on his front porch with a note saying she needs to go away and get herself together and when she gets back they can discuss what to do next. Jamie is shocked, because he had been avoiding her calls and texts since he dumped her.
Fallon was Jamie's nemesis since they were five years old and she beat him in a bike race, but she agrees to help for a couple weeks when Jamie's sister Riley asks her. With a degree in early childhood development, but no practical experience and no job Fallon is the perfect fit.
The author has told a great story about the Donavan siblings. Big families make it so much fun to revisit the characters from other books in the series. This book is a standalone book, but you will recognize the rest of the family (with their significant others) when they get together or show up to help when help is needed.
I enjoyed the narrator and think she did a good job with all the different characters. My only complaint about the book is Jamie sounds like a spoiled 12 year old when things don't go his way. But he does grow out of it eventually.

I enjoyed this next installment in the Donovan family story! It was great to see how playboy Jamie handled the natural consequences of his lifestyle when a baby is left on his doorstep, presumably his son... With the dedication to the family that he's been raised with, there's no doubt for him as to what he needs to do, but what does he know about infants? Not a lot. But he's determined to learn fast.
His siblings are there to help him, of course, as is his rival, Fallon. But as time goes on, he begins to wonder whether their aversion to one another is based in fact or fiction... The more he sees how great she is with his son, the more he wonders if she isn't the girl he's been waiting for all his life.
I can't wait to read the next story in the Donovan family saga.
Thanks to Samantha Chase, Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for an advance review copy.

I received this book for free from netgalley for an honest review.
Great book. This is my first book by this author but it won't be my last. I really liked the main characters chemistry.

I love all (or all books i've read so far) Samantha Chase books! Carly Robins does an IMPECCABLE job sinking us into the world Samantha creates. its like putting on a comfortable sweater. The one that smells like your love. just comfort and joy!

Charm me was a great addition to the series. I thoroughly enjoyed the characters, their personalities and their growth. The friendships and chemistry was fantastic! While I loved the audiobook, I will definitely need the physical copy for my bookshelf.
Thank you Netgalley for an ARC of Charm Me by Samantha Chase

Jamie is living his best life. He does exactly what he wants, when he wants with whomever he wants and revels in it. Eat, sleep, fall in love until the morning, work his charm and good looks and work at the family business. Rinse and repeat. That is until a big surprise lands on his doorstep. A baby. Apparently his baby. All while his parents are away for an extended vacation with their best friends and he is supposed to be proving himself to be a responsible adult capable of handling the work and his devil may care ways. Oops! He reaches out to his siblings and the one solution they have for him is the last thing in the world he wants to do. He would rather chew glass and wash it down with bleach and yet he has no choice, but to reach out to Fallon, the one person his charms never worked on and thinks he’s kind of a tool, only less useful. Oh and his parents best friends daughter. They pretty much despise everything about each other. And so begins their road to figuring it all out and their eventual happily ever after. Its a sweet fun listen.

Oh gracious, okay...I think that I am not the correct person to read this type of Romance. I truly love a witty, sarcastic, romcom with lots of banter and there was just none of that. Maybe I should have known? This was my first time reading (listening to) this author.
I appreciated that the baby situation felt real, it was handled well, and there were adults communicating like adults should do. There was a very supportive family dynamic which I really enjoyed. This I believe is number 3 or 4 of the series and I think it's kind of fun all the siblings love stories get a book.
The narrator just wasn't great. The way she read the characters felt very much like she was reading straight from a book and not really telling a story. Not that she was monotone but she didn't talk the way people actually talk. Not sure how to express it- felt off and it took a bit to get over it.
I know there's a huge following of pure simple romance books and I appreciate the free arc! Thanks @Netgalley!

4 Star Review of Charm Me by Samantha Chase
Charm Me was a well written story that ticked a number of boxes for me. This time we have Jamie Donovan and Fallon Murphy’s and it was an enjoyable read.
It was good to be back in Laurel Bay and the crazy, often interfering Donovan family. It was entertaining to watch the push and pull dynamic as Jamie and Fallon’s story unfolded.
What happens when you suddenly find yourself with a baby to look after? That’s the position that Jamie finds himself in as he turns to his family for help. Their response is to call in the one woman who gets his hackles up, Fallon. I had a hard time liking Jamie, he annoyed me at times and I wanted him to grow up.
The sparks have always flown between Jamie and Fallon but when baby Asher is added to the mix, then a truce needs to occur. I had a hard time liking Jamie, he annoyed me at times and I wanted to shake some sense into him.
His about turn with his feelings towards Fallon seemed a trifle to fast but then this is a romance book. I did admire the growth Jamie went through and the relationship he developed with Asher melted my heart. The other Donovan’s did what they do best and poked their noses into the relationship and that made for some fun.
Carly Robins did a wonderful job with her narration bringing the story and characters t life. Her voice is easy to listen to and she brought all the emotions and feelings to her performance.

Overall, I enjoyed this book. It did feel a little scattered and rushed. I appreciated how it attempted to address mental health but do wish it did a little better job. The enemies to lovers storyline was great. The addition of little Asher was fun and added charm. I had not read the previous stories but didn't feel like I was missing out on the story with them in it. #CharmMe #NetGalley

Audio Review
Another visit to Laurel Bay and another catch up with the crazy Donovan clan. This time around we get to know Jamie Donovan and Fallon Murphy and boy do they have an entertaining tale to tell.
Carly Robins did a wonderful job with the narration and bringing the characters and their journey to life. The emotions were spot in and she was very easy to listen too.
What do you do when you suddenly find a baby on the doorstep, well if you are a Donovan you call your family for help. Problem is they in turn call the woman who drives you crazy and before you know it Fallon has become nanny to Asher who is Jamie’s newborn. What follows is an entertaining journey as Jamie and Fallon decide to put the past and their feelings behind them and concentrate on baby Asher.
The only problem here is we all know there fine line between love and hate and as they spend time together feelings come bubbling to the surface. Will the future be rosy for Jamie, Fallon and Asher…..one click this gem of a read to find out.
I loved this book, I adored the characters, I love how the Donovan siblings always pull together when needed but what took this story to another level was watching Jamie go from a player to a father. Looking forward to reading more from the family I think of as friends.

*Sigh* I was so looking forward to Jamie’s story and seeing who he would finally settle down with. Unfortunately, this was not my favorite Donovan fam book.
Thoughts:
-My biggest problem was the narrative of adoption — it was written about with such a negative connotation when in actuality sometimes adoption is the best and only option for families
-It was your typical small town single dad romance. The characters were likable and I loved that you got to see the bond and ride-or-die attitude of the Donovan siblings
-I didn’t see much chemistry between Jamie and Fallon outside of their shared love for Jamie’s baby — which is a pitfall I feel many single parent stories fall into
If you’re looking for a classic surprise baby story, give this one a shot, but it wasn’t my favorite Donovan sibling storyline.
Thank you Netgalley, Samantha Chase and Dreamscape Media for the opportunity to review this book!

Prepare to get lost in love with a charming playboy and the surprising twists that bring him to his knees. Charm Me bursts the heart wide open with sassy dialogue and delightful characters. Chase is sure to leave a lasting impression on more than just the senses.

Even though I haven't read the previous titles in this series, I was still able to feel like I knew each Donovan sibling. This story almost seemed cliche until I realized all of the layers it had as the novel went on. The character development was so interesting I will be going back to read all the ones before and continue to the ones after.

*3.5 Stars On My Instagram Account."
"If anyone had told me that my nemesis would turn into my savior I would have said they were crazy."
Well things are definitely crazy in Book 4 of The Donovans series, Charm Me,by reliable romance author Samantha Chase.
In this standalone, but more fun if you experience the stories in order, Jamie, the carefree playboy of the clan, has to stop his roaming ways when his baby son Asher is left on his porch with a note from the mother; she can't care for Asher right now. Having no idea of his son's existence until now Jamie starts to panic.
His sister suggests that family friend Fallon can help watch Asher while Jamie works at the family bar. The problem is Fallon has been his sworn enemy since grade school. Fallon is having her own troubles having been fired from two jobs since college graduation. Seems being academically smart doesn't translate into knowing the social aspects of the workplace. So she needs a job and he needs a full time nanny. Let the romance tropes begin!
I am always happy when I can enjoy an audiobook narrated by the talents of Carly Robins. She brings the right amount of sassy attitude and emotional drama to all her performances.
It's awesome this writer gives voice to mental health. Asher's mom makes mistakes but sacrifices everything to make sure Asher is safe while she gets help. I would love a book about her journey.
This enemies to lovers, nanny/boss, close proximity, small town, single dad clean closed door romance has all the charming sweetness you'd expect from this author. It's predictably cute but if I'm honest I enjoyed the sexy charisma of Ryker in book 3, Save Me, a lot more than Jamie's constant spiraling out of control.
I am looking forward to Book 5, Patrick's story, Kiss Me, on sale 7/18/23. I know he can charm me into a kiss.💋
I received a free copy of this audiobook from Dreamscape Media via #NetGalley for a fair and honest review. All opinions are my own.

I enjoyed this book. It is 1/5 spice all fade to black type scenes. I wish there had been a bit more struggle or back story for the FMC/MMC to have a believable past crush or whatever. It was entertaining and light hearted with mild angst.
