The Donovans Series - Charm Me (book 4) Audiobook, written by Samantha Chase and narrated by Carly Robins, is a heartwarming story about two people who are trying to establish themselves amongst their families. The story follows Jamie, a typical sudden single dad who wakes up one morning to find a baby left at his door. Desperate for help, he seeks it from his siblings, who turn to his long-time nemesis, Fallon. Fallon is a highly educated woman running from small-town gossip, especially after being fired twice in four months.

While I appreciate the aspect of an audiobook told from two points of view, it can be challenging to discern who is speaking, as there are no character subtitles. It would have been helpful if each POV began with the character's name, as I was left wondering who was speaking at times. Furthermore, the audiobook uses only one female narrator to read both male and female POVs, which may create confusion and detract from the listening experience.

Carly Robins' narration is solid, although she doesn't quite achieve the level of charm, she is known for giving. However, this may be due to the writing not allowing for moments of improvisation to embellish the story. Nevertheless, she brings the characters to life and makes the story engaging.

Overall, The Donovans Series - Charm Me (book 4) Audiobook is an enjoyable listen for those who love heartwarming stories of second chances and unexpected love. The relatable characters and charming small-town setting make it a great addition to any romance novel lover's collection. However, the storyline is predictable, very tame spice-wise, and not particularly unique, and I would give this audiobook a 3/5 rating. To increase my rating, I would need to see a more distinct plot twist to make the story stand out from other romance novels in this genre.

What a sweet enemies to lovers. These childhood nemesis' find themselves living and working in close corners and boy do sparks fly!

This is my second Samantha Chase novel and this is also in the Donovan series. The family f*ck up, Jamie, finally sees things going his way. He is doing his best to show his parents he can handle the family restaurant and then he has consequences from his past show up and blow up his plans. While this is happening Fallon's life is falling apart. And what do you do when you have no where to go? Go home. This brings the two together with a surprise common goal and the chemistry is there.

I found myself not wanting to put this book down. I really am enjoying this Donovan series and see myself continuing it. The chemistry is there and you find yourself rooting for Jamie and Fallon. And the tension/problems that they encounter make sense. Sometimes the third act break-up or miscommunication feels over the top so when I feel like the characters are reasonable and make sense I find myself liking the book even more.

Overall, I recommend this book to anyone who likes the single dad trope, or enemies to lovers. Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this story!

Who doesn’t love an enemy to lovers story? Jaime Donovan and Fallon Murphy families were very close growing up however their childhood competitiveness made them hate each other. Now as adults, faith brings them together unexpectedly. A baby is dropped off with Jaime. A baby he did not know existed. Jaime knows nothing about taking care of little Asher. Fallon has recently returned home after being fired again. The Donovan clan has asked for her help without any details of what is required . Little does she know she is being recruited to help take care a of a baby, Jaime’s baby. This a sweet story where the MCs discover that their hatred easily converts to love and overcome their life struggles together.

Charm Me is the fourth book in Samantha Chase’s “The Donovan’s” series. This book features Jamie Donovan, the playboy in the family, and Fallon, his childhood enemy. What happens when a baby arrives unexpectedly and these two are thrown together? Fireworks and an amazing enemies-to-lovers story.

Samantha Chase has a way of drawing in a reader, making her characters so lovable despite their shortcomings. Charm Me was such a sexy and wonderful read. As usual with this series there is a perfect amount of sexy:romance:emotional ratio. I love how this author never fails me with her books.

If you don’t like a slow burn, enemies-to-lovers, or are sensitive to mental health being a big part of the plot then this may not be the book for you. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and it is such a comfortable read/listen. The audiobook is really well done and easy to listen to. I think that any lover of the romance genre should give this book a try.

I’ve read and liked all of The Donovan’s series by Samantha Chase. The latest, Charm me, is about my least favorite Donovan. Jamie is a man-child and a player. He is the guy who gets by on his smile, personality and charm. It works for his as he helps run his family Pub with his dad and uncle. But he’s the kind of guy that never takes on any other responsibility. He is stunned when a surprise baby, his son Asher, is left on his doorstep with a note. His parents are on a cross country trip and cruise so he calls all his siblings to rally for help. His sister Riley brings in Fallon Murphy who is returning home after losing her job. She has the education and skills to help care for Asher and teach Jamie about babies and schedules. It will also give her a pay while she is looking for a new job for herself. The biggest obstacle is Jamie considers her a nemesis of his childhood because she out raced him on a bike or climbed a tree faster. But he has no choice but to accept her help.

Usually in frenemy romances both are involved in the past rivalry, but in this case it is only Jamie that holds onto to these childhood grudges and one upping. Fallon doesn’t remember the bike race or tree climb. She just knows he was always trying to provoke her. That makes him a bully and not charming. Jamie comes off immature during most of the book. He is prone to outbursts and then uses his charm to get past things. I credit the author for recognizing one of the very icky things about their situation. As they move on to intimacy and a physical relationship he is literally paying her while they are sleeping together. I can understand that they can start up romantically quickly because they have know each other their whole lives. And I’m usually a fan of heat on the page. But throwing that on top of a surprise baby and a mother that will be returning it doesn’t seem the smartest choices. I like that Fallon is smart and caring but she doesn’t get as much depth as some of the previous mains in the series.

I enjoyed seeing the rest of the family especially Riley. But overall this wasn’t my favorite book in the series. I think my dislike of Jamie is hard to overcome. His arguing at the end that Fallon is as much to blame for their split because she didn’t stay and fight for their relationship is ridiculous and not balancing. To me that was immaturity again, spreading blame instead of accepting that his reaction and actions were over the top. The ending save the story enough.

I’m looking forward to the next book and hope I enjoy Patrick’s romance more. And I like that Carly Robins continues to provide narration to the books in the series. Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the audiobook and I am leaving a voluntary review.

🎧📚AUDIO & EBOOK REVIEW📚🎧

I had the opportunity of not just *reading* this story, but also a last minute *listen* of the audiobook over this past weekend before release, and I have to say, both formats are equally satisfying. This thing of reading and listening has become somewhat of a habit for me in the last year or so and it is amazing how many times my experience with a story changes one way or the other when I do it, but not this time. Charm Me remained just as delightfully charming both times I experienced it.

The Donovan family unit still remains #twitchy to me, but not as much as it’s been in the past. One of the pluses of my experience with this story. Another huge plus with this story was character development. I found that Samantha Chase did an incredible job growing both Fallon & Jamie as individuals, as a couple, and as parents. I know that technically, Fallon doesn’t really fall under the parent category in a conventional way, but she was a parent figure to baby Asher. Fallon & Jamie not only had to grow away from what they were to each other but also grow towards what they wanted to be to each other in the future, all while being thrust into parenthood without a lifejacket. Well, Samantha gave them an incredibly relatable and organic journey, that tugged at my heart, made me smile on many occasions, frustrated me very little and filled my heart with hope. I believed and rooted in these three because she made me believe! Well done!

I haven’t always had the best luck with this family, but I have to say this might be one of the best ones yet. Do with that information what you will :)

Samantha Chase's latest novel, "Charm Me," is an enchanting romance that flawlessly combines the beloved enemies to lovers trope with an unexpected twist. Filled with emotional depth, witty banter, and heartwarming moments, this story will capture your heart from the very first page.

One of the highlights of "Charm Me" is undoubtedly the enemies-to-lovers relationship between Jamie and Fallon. Their initial fiery encounters are charged with tension and sparks, as they clash head-on with their witty comebacks and opposing personalities. Samantha Chase masterfully portrays their conflicting views and sharp tongues, making their interactions both entertaining and sizzling with chemistry.

However, what truly sets "Charm Me" apart is the extraordinary circumstances that bring Jamie and Fallon together. When a baby is unexpectedly dropped on Jamie's doorstep, he is thrust into a situation he is not prepared for. As Jamie and Fallon slowly transition from adversaries to allies, to lovers.

Samantha Chase's writing style is engaging and immersive, capturing the emotions of the characters with finesse. Every interaction between Jamie, Fallon, and the baby is filled with genuine warmth and an underlying sense of love, making it impossible not to be invested in their journey.

If you're a fan of the enemies-to-lovers trope that tug at your heartstrings and leave you with a satisfyingly warm feeling, "Charm Me" is a must-read. Samantha Chase's delightful blend of captivating romance, witty dialogue, and the heartwarming journey of Jamie and Fallon as they care for the baby dropped on Jamie's doorstep will charm you from start to finish.

I liked the premise of this book but I think the audio part took away from it. I really didn’t the male side of the story and it kind of wrecked a little bit of it. The cultural differences were cute but also felt a little exaggerated. Overall, the love story was cute but it was just okay.

🌀Synopsis
A baby on his doorstep turns Jamie’s life upside down. He’s just getting the hang of running the family pub and doesn’t have time to be a full time dad. Thankfully, Fallon just got back in town and without job prospects she’s in the perfect position to help. The only problem is that the two have been enemies as long as they can remember.
Knowing he needs the help, Jamie agrees to let her into his home. He follows her rules and tries to help the baby thrive. Lack of sleep is still impacting him though and he asks her to move in. A big decision but she makes it knowing it’s best for the baby. The time together leads to several intimate encounters and Jamie finally reveals he has feelings for Fallon.
When the baby’s mom shows back up Jamie and Fallon are at odds on what path to take. It causes such a rift that Jamie moves out and looks to move on. It doesn’t take long for Jamie to realize she was right and he needs to apologize and get her back immediately.

Thank you Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for the free ALC in exchange for my honest review. I LOVE single dad. I love enemies to lovers I don't care for miscommunication trope and wish they would talk and sort out issues. I really enjoy the narrator and this was fab 2 pov book. Good character development great story. Wish Netgalley would specify that books in series it makes it clear to catch up first so you have all Easter eggs.

I am such a SAP because I loved this book, I loved the Donovan’s and I am so mad I didn’t read from the first book on, this not a stand-alone but I was able to still connect with the other characters in a way that I felt I had read all the other 3 books. I love a male MC that express how they feel, how Jamie goes after Fallon to prove his love and trust again was the thing that tied up this whole love story. And anything with a HEA is a win for me.

This is the fourth installment in the Donovan series. Even though I haven’t read the first three books in the series, I didn’t feel lost at all. Jamie Donovan is the Brad Pitt of Laurel Bay. There is literally nothing this man count charm his way out of. That is until ex girlfriend leaves town and he finds himself with a baby on his doorstep. Now he must turn to the only person that can help and his arch nemesis, Fallon Murphy.

Chase does an amazing job at capturing the readers attention, right from page one. I love all the character growth. Literally no character is perfect and I love it! It made the characters more realistic and relatable. I also think I found a favorite story trope….secret baby drama!!! I found Chases writing to be very easy to read and the dialogue between the main characters didn’t seem forced. Overall I really enjoyed myself! I recommend it for anyone just looking for a quick and sometimes very funny read. I’m excited to read the first three in the series now!

Let me start by saying that the narrator did a good job with the characters and the story. With that being said, I enjoyed this story a lot. Jamie and Fallon have always had this type of rivalry and enemies' relationship with each other. However, an unexpected surprise slowly changes things between them as they have to coexist with each other to do what needs to be done. That closeness brings forth feelings neither of them expected and along with that, challenges of their newfound relationship. Not only do they have to deal with Jen, but they let their emotions get the best of them. I enjoyed Jamie's family a lot. Fallon's family was also enjoyable, but Jamie's family played a huge part in this story. This was a sweet and steamy standalone story that wrapped up nicely and I think romance book readers and audiobook listeners will enjoy this story.

I think this might be my favorite of the series.
Jamie & Fallon
Former playboy turned single dad in a blink of an eye and he stepped into fatherhood with ease. He always seemed so easy going with an it is what it is attitude in previous books, so I liked that he really stepped up at the pub, too, and took over managing it while his parents were away.
Fallon was so sweet and so good with baby, Asher, too. I hate how she was so hard on herself not being able to keep a job, but what she ended up doing in the end just felt perfect for her.
I felt their relationship developed at a nice pace and did not feel rushed. 3rd act breakup for the birds as they usually are.

If you've read my reviews on this series before ~ I'm happy to report that meddling mom, Kate, has really tamed down. She only made a couple of appearances and not until the end and barely meddled.

Another delightful addition to the series. Up next is Patrick's story. I've smelt this set up for a while and I'm excited the author is going to give us a different trope.

I freaking love Samantha Chase and I adore Carly Robins' narration!

Oh Jamie Donovan, we all knew you'd end up here eventually. Lucky for you Fallon was willing to overlook your decades long rivalry to help you out. Jamie has really grown up during this book and I enjoyed it a lot.

Laurel Bay is an adorable town and in it lives the Donovan Family. Jamie is the flirt brother, the ladies man and the won't settle down. Until one day he wakes up to a baby on his porch. HIS baby. Now what?! His parents just finally trusted him to keep the restaurant going and now he has a whole baby! Thankfully, as the Donovan family does, they all rallied and his sister calls Fallon, the one person he doesn't want help from but the only person who is qualified to.

Another sweet story by Samantha Chase! This one had all of the cute tropes I love. Small town, single dad, enemies to lovers, forced proximity and of course a dual POV with a HEA! I enjoyed Fallon's character and how her relationship with Jamie grew. A cute easy read.

Really enjoyed this book. I didn’t love the third person point of view though. I thought that the enemies to lovers trope worked perfectly here! Especially with their long history of not being able to stand eachother. Once they put their differences aside seeing them together was so wonderful. Can’t recommend this enough!

Jaime may not be ready to settle down but he is ready to take charge of his life and show his family that he's ready to take over the family pub. Finding out that he has a newborn son that his ex left on his doorstep wasn't part of his plan, neither is hiring his nemesis to help out. Fallon is back in town after being fired from her last two jobs. Her knowledge of early childhood makes her a good fit to help Jaime out.

Jamie's character development stood out. At first, I wasn't sure about him, even though he was trying to prove that he could take charge of the family's business for the first few chapters he felt a little flighty and immature. Boy, did that change. I enjoyed seeing him learn to be a dad to a newborn.

Early childhood is my heart. I always love a book with a character in the field of early childhood education. I liked that Fallon's background was connected to higher education. She was sometimes a little controlling. It was easy to see how she struggled to work with others at times. I would have liked to explore more of her back story. I felt the book focused more on Jaime.

This is a sweet romance with lots of adorable baby snuggles that give all the feels. Jaime with baby Asher is definitely swoonworthy.

It's an easy, light read that focuses on family and relationships. The romance is perfectly mixed in and the relationship develops naturally. There is plenty of steam but fades-to-black. Which is perfect when you want a steamy read but don't need all the details.

The pacing flowed well, nothing felt too fast or too slow. It was entertaining and a quick read that kept my attention. I enjoyed Jamie's growth as a dad and appreciated the insight into Asher’s mom and the reason she left.

This is part of a series but can be read as a standalone.

Written in third person narrative with a dual POV. The audiobook version is narrated from a female perspective, although I prefer dual narratives for dual POV stories it works well with the third-person narrative.

Oh my goodness, this was one of the sweetest books I’ve had the pleasure of listening to this year. Loved it!

I really enjoy Samantha Chase's Donavons series. This was a super fast listen that kept to the same fun romantic spirit of the series. I liked the characters a lot and felt this book is either a situation you can relate to or learn from. I am grateful the story didn't villainize Asher's mom and taught a little about mental health issues.

We are back in Laurel Bay with the Donovan clan who little by little are finding love.
This time, the story belongs to Jamie Donovan. Jamie is known as the charmer and playboy in town. He loves women, but makes sure they know he wants no strings attached. His other love is the family pub. One he’s ready to take charge. When the parents go on vacation, it’s his chance to prove himself.
Meanwhile, Fallon Murphy, is back in town after being fired from another job. Her childhood development degrees don’t seem to help her keep a job and she’s home to regroup.
When a baby is dropped at Jamie’s doorsteps, he panics and calls his siblings. His sister Riley immediate thinks of her friend Fallon. The perfect person to help care for the baby, though Fallon and Jamie have had a rivalry since they were kids, that’s put aside for the little boy.
As time goes on, feelings develop. What happens when the child’s mother shows up? What happens when feelings are hurt? Can a solution be found or will the impasse and feelings between these two be a thing of the past?
This was another wonderful addition to the series. It’s a story about family, trust and a chance at love, even when life is messy.
Will Patrick be getting his story next?
I was entrusted this audiobook by Netgalley and Dreamscape. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
