Emma and her husband start having financial difficulties. They move back into the mansion her parents were murdered in when she was a teenager. Trouble arises because people think she was the one that killed her parents.
This book had many twists and turns and was an excellent read. I’d like to thank NetGalley and Flatiron Books for the chance to read this ARC!

Well, this was good!

This is one of those books where I really wasn’t sure about the *who* of everything until the very end. The book kept me guessing!

I loved our sisters and their pasts (and some of their presents) had me heartbroken.

I will say that the book started just a little slowly for me. However, I’m glad I stuck with it because by a quarter of the way through, I was hooked.

Highly suspenseful and a very good read!

A bit of a miss for me. Didn't enjoy as much as her adult debut. This one felt a bit all over the place. I am left confused. I am not sure if I would recommend it as I did not connect with the story or characters.

This book was unputdownable.it immediately sucked me in and held me through to the last chapter.
It’s a mystery that just kept me guessing and so many twists in this whodunnit.

No One Can Know follows Emma and her two sisters, Daphne and Juliette. The sisters grew up in a very strict and conservative household, released only when their parents were murdered. Was it one of the sisters or someone else? This story takes us through the past and present through each of the sisters’ point of view and the twist will leave you speechless.

I gave this book 5 stars not only because it threw me for a loop right up until the very last paragraph, but also because it made me feel almost protective over the sisters. It was so well written and I’m super glad I was granted this ARC!

Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review!

This book was absolute blast. I loved the twists and turns in it. I think for some it might border on too many twists/parts to the murder but it was just right for me. They were fun while also not being too out there. I do think the book felt a bit too long and personally I could have done without the romantic subplot. However overall I had a really fun time with this book!

A Whodunnit of the best kind! Kate Alice Marshall’s NO ONE CAN KNOW had me guessing from the first page to last.

Emma Palmer, nine weeks pregnant and her husband, Nathan return to the family home after Nathan loses his job. But this isn’t just any family home, it’s the place where Emma’s parents were murdered. It was always suspected that Emma and her boyfriend Gabriel Mahoney were responsible for the deaths, but it was never proven. Her sisters, Daphne, a home health/hospice nurse and Juliette have had no contact with Emma since the night of the slayings. They were always adamant that Emma could not have killed their parents. Now that Emma has returned, Juliette makes contact with her and tries to forge some type of relationship. But as they begin repairs on the property, things are discovered that can throw a new light on the whole murder. It seems that all of the sisters were hiding, dark secrets both then and now. Then Emma‘s world is shattered once again when Nathan is murdered.

What the heck is going on here? Who is hiding what and can Emma’s former mentor shed light on the entire situation? And what about the police? Are they helping or hindering the investigations? Who is working to keep the truth from being revealed?

I could not put this book down. There were constant twists, and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat. And I was shocked to find out how the murder actually occurred. If you like dark, twisty psychological thrillers that will pull you in and not let go, this is the one for you.

Thank you, Netgalley and Flat Iron Books for this ARC opportunity. All opinions are my own and are given voluntarily.

I have to start this by saying, I REALLY REALLY enjoyed this book! A detailed whodunit domestic thriller, “No One Can Know” keeps the reader invested in the story of the Palmer family while guessing how things went wrong. Once I started reading I had a hard time putting this book down.

After falling on harder times, Emma and her husband come back to her childhood home, one that she and her sisters own after the murder of her parents. In doing so, Emma has to confront her past as the #1 suspect of her parent’s murder as well as let her husband in on secrets she fought hard to keep hidden.

This thriller was riveting, giving the reader just enough detail chapter by chapter to keep my on the edge of my seat. Every time I thought I had the ending figured out, something new was added to change my suspicions. There are a ton of plot twists in this book, and I was here for all of them. None of them seemed far fetched and I think they added to the overall story. I grew to like each sister and became invested in their stories. When I got to the end of the book, I wasn’t letdown or frustrated with the ending at all.

I will say that I always thought I was further along in the book than my kindle told me I was. There is a lot of detail and quite a few twists that make you think rather than speed through the book…with that said, I really enjoyed this one and think those who like a good thriller will as well.

**A big thank you to Flatiron Books and NetGalley for the advanced copy of this book! All opinions are my own.**

A crazy bonkers ride and I loved every single second of it. I sometimes find myself avoiding thrillers only because I've read so many and they can sometimes feel redundant. THIS ONE? Insane. I loved it. LOVED IT. Cannot recommend it highly enough.

Thank you, NetGalley, for an advanced copy of “No One Can Know” in exchange for my review.

I’ll start by saying, 2.5 ⭐️ rounded up to 3. For some reason, this book had a hard time holding my attention. I didn’t connect with any of the characters, and there were a lot of twists in this whodunnit than necessary. It just didn’t stand out to me, and wouldn’t be a thriller I’d recommend with so many other stellar titles out there.

No One Can Know takes you on a ride where everyone has secrets and everyone has something to hide. Don’t trust anyone.

I LOVED What Lies in the Woods, so I was thrilled to receive an ARC of No One Can Know. This story has a similar setup: three women, connected but estranged, a complicated and secretive history, a former forbidden crush. It is different enough to feel unique but easy to like for fans of WLITW.

Here’s what you need to know:
Small town
Dual timeline
Multiple perspectives
Don’t trust anyone

No One Can Know is so packed with secrets and twists and reveals that you get steady helpings of them all the way though. It never feels slow or like you’re waiting for the details to come out later. At its core, this book is about the things we are willing to do to protect the ones we love.

This is my first read by Kate Alice Marshall I was very skeptical at first. Glad I finished the novel because I ended up loving the storyline and characters, excited to read more than comes along from Marshall.

I like how Marshall protarys innocence and guilt. No One Can Know is a great example of being both a little bad and a little good at all moments.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

No One Can Know by Kate Alice Marshall delivers a suspenseful whodunit thriller that had me on the edge of my seat until the final reveal. Emma's life takes a sudden twist when she, jobless and pregnant, moves into her family's ominous mansion, co-owned with her two estranged sisters. Their lives were forever scarred by the brutal murder of their parents, which left a cloud of suspicion over them. The small town still believes Emma is the murderer, and she's determined to unearth the truth.

This story is a rollercoaster of twists and turns. The narrative weaves the past and present into a compelling tapestry of suspense and family drama. The lack of communication among the sisters adds to the intrigue but can be frustrating at times. The characters are not always likable, but this only adds depth to the story. The book is filled with secrets, lies, and misdirection that will keep you guessing. Emma's character, initially appearing weak, undergoes a transformation throughout the story that challenges your perceptions.

With short and engaging chapters, the book is a quick and compelling read. The multiple points of view, both then and now, create a complex and thrilling narrative. *No One Can Know* is a must-read for those who relish suspenseful family dramas with a twist of mystery. This book will leave you questioning everything, and the mind-bending ending is sure to stay with you.

I was so excited to see a new novel by Kate Alice Marshall. This story was twisty and entertaining. Not my favorite by the author, but still a hit!

This was gifted to me by Netgalley & the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

I was so excited to read another book by Kate Alice Marshall, after reading her last book, What Lies in the Woods. so the author is back with another murder mystery. In this book, we are following three sisters, two murders and of course ALL of the secrets.

Emma and her husband are married and things seem to be going okay, she’s never really brought up her past too much and her husband doesn’t really know a lot about her family. Emma and her husband are just living their lives until things get a little bit rocky. They lose their apartment, her husband gets laid off from his job, they find out they don’t have much money left in the bank, and to top it all off Emma is pregnant. They’re worried about what they’re gonna do when Emma realizes that she still has one asset she hasn’t told him about….her parents house. Now normally this would be fine, but Emma hasn’t shared a lot about her past for reasons that she doesn’t want to get her husband involved in. However, they have no choice so they return home and this forces Emma to reveal secrets about the house about her family about the town where she grew up in and things get a little bit more rocky than they anticipated.

I will say this I really enjoy the authors writing style and I think that I will definitely pick up any book that she writes from here on out. I think I enjoyed this book a little bit more than the last one but they’re both around a four to a 4.5 star for me. If you enjoy murder, mysteries, scary houses psychological, thrillers domestic thrillers, if any of these buzzword capture your attention I think that you would enjoy this book.

I really enjoyed Kate Alice Marshall's What Lies in the Woods, as a matter of fact I believe I gave it 5 stars. So I was excited to be approved for an e-ARC of No One Can Know. It's quite possible I came into this with my expectations too high. I was pulled in by the first chapter (maybe prologe?) but it just never ramped up for me.

No One Can Know tells the story of the aftermath of a murder of our three MCs parents, the suspicion that follows them over the ensuing decades, and of course how everything comes to a head after all three of them end up back home where it started.

There was nothing wrong with the writing, and the plot was interesting enough, but it was just rather 'meh' for me. The issue for me is that I didn't like or care about any of the characters. With the multiple POVs over 'then' and 'now', I couldn't find a chapter I cared about. It was all a bit too convoluted for me.

I would still recommend No One Can Know to fans of thrillers, or of the author's other writing.

Thank you to NetGalley and Flatiron Books for the e-ARC I received in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to the author, publisher, and Net galley for an ARC of this book.

Oof. This book drrraaggeedd. It finally picked up around 60% but if I'm being honest, I still have no idea who the murderer is. There were too many characters which made it impossible to connect with any of them. It definitely isn't a book I'll be recommending but I'm glad I got to read it because I really am a fan of Kate Alice Marshall and I'm still excited to see what she comes up with next.

3-3.5/5. This book is a bit of a mixed bag and I really really struggled for the first 40% or so because there are some terribly unlikable characters putting the main character in situations that felt so emotionally claustrophobic and horrible to me that I didn't want to keep reading. I literally told my partner 'I need X to get their comeuppance or else I'm gonna be so mad,' but then thankfully in the chapter immediately after my breaking point they did! So I was able to finish reading.

The Writing:
This is a multi-POV story from the perspectives of 3 sisters, each of which has a Then and Now timeline to follow. The Then timeline mostly takes place in the 3 months before and immediately during/after their parents' murders, and the Now is over a decade later when they've been estranged and out of communication for most of their lives.

Characters:
Emma is ostensibly the main character as she both has the least knowledge of the past events, the most personal fallout from it, and the most chapters devoted to her POV. She is very meek for most of the Now and I struggle to read from passive characters, so the story definitely improved for me when she started doing things and being an active participant in her own life with just the barest hint of backbone.

Apart from her Gabe/Lorelai, every single other character didn't really feel deep or real enough because they also had to be just ambiguous enough to be sus for the plot.

Relationships:
I think the hardest part for me is that the sisters essentially had a major breakup and have not been in communication for years, so any positive relationship dynamics between them feel unrealistic. AND OMG I cannot avoid mentioning the absolutely weird marriage between Emma and Nathan. It was entirely unrelatable and weird and I don't have any real world relationships that even sort of mirror this dynamic, so for me it was so depressing to read while also pulling me out of the story the whole time because it was so unrealistic/unbelievable that two people that incompatible and miserable would stay together or even get together in the first place without external pressure forcing them. Ymmv on this one, but that relationship alone probably knocked a full star off my rating.

Abuse:
I also wasn't ready for there to be so much abuse-- mental, emotional, and physical in this. The past timeline was incredibly difficult to read for me, so please be aware of child abuse if that is a trigger for you.

The Mystery:
There were some elements I really liked, like the reveal with Lorelai, but mostly the mystery did not run very deep and I felt like the tension was being dragged out to make the book longer without necessarily being more satisfying for it. Overall it had the proper amount of setup and reveals, if a slight rush at the end.

I enjoyed this book. I liked the characters. It was a fast read and I enjoyed all the twists and turns. Towards the end, they just kept coming and I had no idea who the murder(s) were!
