I liked this book, but not as much as "What Lies in the Woods". The dual timelines and multiple POVs were utilized well to give you the full story. However, I never really connected with the characters, and I didn't understand a lot of the choices they made. Part of the ending was fairly predictable, but I still enjoyed the journey to get there overall.

Expected publication is January 23, 2024.

Thank you NetGalley and Flatiron Books for the ARC.

What a perfect thriller ! Kate Alice Marshall has done it again with another great hit. I loved her last book, What lies in the woods! Her latest book is just as good and twisty ! It kept me guessing until the end, very suspenseful. The story and characters were very well written! I highly recommend this thriller.

Thank you Netgalley and Flatiron Books for the electronic arc copy for my honest review.

It was my first time reading a book written by Kate Alice Marshall and while it wasn't mind-blowing, in my opinion, I did enjoy it. Although I must admit, I had a pretty hard time connecting with the characters which made it all a little difficult to stay invested in the story.
I don't know if I'll try another book by this author in the future but I'll keep my mind open!

The plot wasn’t very original and I found it hard to keep up with the shifting time lines and points of view. There were also a lot of minor side characters introduced that were hard to keep up with. The main issue I had with this novel though was that I didn’t feel a connection to any of the characters, and I found them all to be untrustworthy. The writing itself was not bad, I just find it hard to enjoy stories where I feel unconnected and unsympathetic to the characters.

No matter how hard I tried I just could not with this nook. The writing is so annoying and all over the place. I couldn't follow along to save my life.

I had a really hard time with this novel. The phrase “willfully obtuse” comes to mind. There were so many moments where the plot was just being withheld so the characters could flail around being unreliable narrators. Maybe I am just bored of this genre, but this book was not gripping enough to sustain all its purported secrets.

Thank you to Netgalley and Flatiron Books for an ARC copy of No One Can Know.

I read Kate Alice Marshall's last book What Lies in the Woods, and it was just "meh" for me, so I thought I'd give her another chance with this newest title. I've come to the conclusion that her writing style is just not for me. I had a difficult time connecting with any of the characters and am SO over the reoccurring "I witnessed a murder in my childhood but repressed the memories until it's convenient for me to remember" trope. Unfortunately, another "meh" review from me. 2.5 stars.

Juliette, Emma, Daphne are three sisters couldn't be more different. Juliette is the parent-pleasing perfectionist, Emma is the rebellious one, while Daphne lives in her own little world. Unfortunately they were all raised in an abusive household and were present the night their parents were brutally murdered. When Emma returns to her hometown years later questions resurface and dark family secrets are revealed. The mystery of their parents’ murders just may be revealed...that is if they don't become victims themselves....

I really enjoyed this murder-mystery/whodunnit/thriller, and of course I'm always a sucker for an unreliable narrator! The story is told from each of the sister's POV and in a "then and now" timeline. I loved that the three sisters had very distinct personalities and responded to their traumatic upbringing each in their own unique ways. The ending was SO twisty that (NGL) I had to pause and reread. Overall a great book! Thank yo NetGalley and Flatiron Books for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I recently read [book:The Only One Left|181181914] and I kept thinking about that book while I was reading this one. Overall the story was pretty good, though I liked the childhood versions of the sisters better than the adult ones. This is one though that if I think back on it in a few months I'm not sure I'm going to remember much about it (especially how the parents died since the story keeps getting changed).

Kindly received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I’m making another bad confession…

I found “No One Can Know,” to be a mediocre thriller. This storyline is not new, three sisters, obviously murder, and even more obvious, secrets. The story is told from the 3rd person, with three very different POV’s. Also, the story vacillates between then and now, in other words, past and present.

It’s not that I don’t like these type of stories, I wouldn’t have requested this particular book otherwise, it’s just this story fell short in character development, pacing, and resolution.

I did not like even one of three sisters, and I couldn’t have cared less for the outcome of their lives. I wasn’t invested at all, the characters were one dimensional and very hard to develop any feelings for, including hate.

I so wanted to be pulled into a mystery and twisty thriller, but the story is more depressing than atmospheric, and be warned, abuse is present, mostly parental, and I found this to be more tragic than twisty.

Thank you NetGalley and the Publisher for an eARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

I absolutely loved "What Lies in the Woods" and was super excited to be lucky enough to recieve an arc of this book as well. This book does not disappoint is another super fast-paced thriller told in multiple timelines and POVs. This sometimes gets confusing when an author tries to introduce so many characters and we are jumping between timelines, but this was not the case for this book. It was easy to follow and added to the suspense of the mystery.

There truly were so many secrets and I was left guessing till the very end. I was wrong, I thought I had it all figured out, but similar to her last novel, she had another twist coming and the final reveal was satisfying.

I will absolutely continue to read KAM's work and I look forward to this being released to the general public so I can recommend it to all my friends!

Three sisters, two murders and too many secrets.

Told from three different 3rd p/POV’s while alternating between past and present, No One Can Know showcases all aspects of a typical thriller: secrets, lies, greed, betrayal, trauma, murder…

While I felt this story wasn’t entirely original, I still thought the premise was solid.

The most frustrating issue for me was the characters & their lack of development. I’m sure I’m far from alone when I say I need to feel some sort of emotion towards the “cast” I’m reading about. Whether it’s love or hate, etc., I need to FEEL something, anything...

And unfortunately, I felt nothing for any one of these three sisters. I was not drawn to them in any sense of the word. I didn’t much care where they ended up in the end…🥴

That said, I have read and enjoyed Marshall’s work before & I will, without a doubt, continue to do so going forward.

Thank you NetGalley and Flatiron Books for this arc in exchange for an honest review.

This book was just what I needed! If you enjoyed What Lies in the Woods, then you should enjoy No One Can Know, too. This book does move at a faster pace than What Lies in the Woods though. This book is told from multiple povs. There's 3 sisters and two murders, and a cover up. I was kept guessing until the very end. You're kept guessing in part because you'll love to hate the sisters. Thank you to Kate Alice Marshall for writing a wonderful book, Netgalley, and Flat iron press for the ARC

"No One Can Know" was a relentless rollercoaster of intrigue and suspense, the author's skillful pacing left me on the edge of my seat anticipating what other mysteries lurked in-between the pages.

From start to finish I was constantly forming whodunit theories as the story twisted and turned with unexpected surprises. I was able to form the correct assumptions but it didn't detract from the book in the slightest bit.

This book is a must-read for anyone who enjoys books in the Mystery Thriller genre.

Thank you Kate Alice Marshall, Net Galley and Flatiron Books for providing me with an ARC of this book!

Wow, what a wild ride. Thank you to Net galley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book. Emma, along with her two sisters, survived the murder of their parents 14 years ago. Told in alternating perspectives from all three sisters, past and present, we learn that facts aren’t always facts. Emma was always suspect number one. She has built a new life but is now back for circumstances beyond her control.
I literally devoured this book in less than twenty four hours. I’m not usually a multi-0
perspective fan, but it worked in this book. I truly guessed and second guessed my way through the story. This author has become one of my go-to for a well written mystery. 4 1/2 stars.

The husband doesn't seem to mind the secrets his wife has kept... at least in the beginning of the book. Holy twists and turns. These are the stories I love. Well done by Marshall. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. Five stars.

I started to read this book and I couldn't put it down. The secrets, the intrigue. I love dual timelines in a book. This book is worth your time.

Three sisters with a boatload of secrets between them, including what really happened the night their parents were murdered? Cue the intrigue of this plot.
This was SO GOOD. It was probably one of the hardest books to put down that I’ve ever read. I love that it kept me guessing every chapter, and I absolutely love the writing style. My only complaint was that there were a few times I became confused with the narration, being that we have POVs from all three sisters that alternate between past and present, but sometimes present chapters would include the past, or past chapters would include present. So I found myself double checking which one I was reading a few times, but it was so minimal when compared to how great this book was.
This is definitely a fast paced thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat the entire time. I can’t even begin to explain how much I appreciated the way this story help my attention the entire time. It never felt slow, or like there were parts that didn’t matter much, it was just truly one of the best books I’ve read. Every time I thought I had it all figured out, I was second guessing myself by the next chapter.

4.5 stars. I truly loved this book so much and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Huge thank you to Flatiron Books and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this arc in exchange for an honest review.
