Where You End by Abbott Kahler is a psychological thriller starring identical twins, Jude and Kat. On a drive through rural Pennsylvania, Jude and Kat get into a car accident avoiding a deer in the road. Jude comes away unscathed, but Kat obtained a TBI. Once she wakes from her coma, she only knows Jude. Not where she is, her name, anything. Jude takes this as an opportunity to give Kat a brand new past, completely different from the world they actually lived. Kat is enthralled by her life, but keeps getting flashes of anger amidst a new romance. Kat has to parse what is fact and what is fiction as she unravels Jude's lies.

What drew me to this story was the cover. It is stunning and creepy and pulls you in. And that's where it ended for me. The story started off on a high, albeit low. We saw multiple perspectives of the accident and were with Kat as she started learning things about herself from Jude. However, this story took a turn as cults became involved and the unreliable narrator writing hit. I ended up DNF'ing pretty early on, unable to get in to the story and characters. Once reading more about the plot and ending, I was glad I decided not to read more.

This book has a lot of things that I love. Mystery, creepy cults, and memory loss. Very atmospheric and creepy vibes. It was a quick read and unpredictable. Enjoyed this one!

Kat is in a serious accident that affects her memory & she has forgotten her past. Thankfully, her twin sister, Jude is there to help her recall her past. However, Kat starts to question some of the things her sister tells her. Kat looks deeper into her past to realize she might be trusting the wrong person.

This book was a psychological thriller that delivered! I can't imagine how hard it must be to completely forget your past & not even know if what you're being told is truth. I don't want to give too much away so I'll just say I was intrigued for the mystery & to find out what the truth was.

This was definitely an interesting read. It took a little bit to get into but I enjoyed the unique story.

Part cult thriller, part family thriller this book was very intriguing! Kat wakes up from a coma and doesn't remember her identical twin sister or anything about her life. As she tries to relearn and remember, she begins to have doubts about what is true. What results is a twisty tale of deception and a unique plot. This book moved along quickly and kept me interested. I am late to the party, but thankful for the advanced copy!

This story for me started off very good. I was quickly intrigued. Until the last third part of the book lost me. I understand like multiple timelines but had trouble keeping up with this one. It was like too many things happening at the same time.

Where You End by Abbott Kahler is a psychological thriller that promises a gripping ride but somehow doesn’t quite stick the landing. The premise is solid: a tense, atmospheric exploration of grief, memory, and identity. The writing itself is smooth, and the pacing is enough to keep you curious, but by the end, I was left feeling like I had devoured a mystery with too many breadcrumbs and not quite enough of a satisfying finale.

The protagonist, who’s battling both internal and external demons, is relatable in her confusion and emotional turmoil, but at times, her actions felt a little more "plot device" than "human being." Still, I found myself rooting for her through the maze of twists, even if I didn’t always believe in the twists themselves.

The eerie, isolated setting is perfect for a psychological drama, but there were moments where the tension felt like it was trying too hard to be ominous, only to fizzle out in the final act. It’s like a slow-burn candle that finally goes out before you can get a whiff of the scent you were promised.

All in all, Where You End offers some interesting ideas and a few good chills, but it doesn’t quite deliver the knockout punch it hints at. Three stars for the effort and atmosphere, but I was left wanting just a little more. A solid, if not unforgettable, read.

I had to unfortunately DNF this book. I was really loving the concept of this book but the execution wasn’t done as well as I’d hope.

A twisty mystery with some moments of creepiness. Perhaps the most creepy part is how real this seemed, the parts about The Plan and leaving the group. I can see this happening even today and it's scary to think about how people fall under the spell of these types of groups so easily. The author did a good job showing the closeness of the twins, their special bond before and after the accident.

Unfortunately this was a dnf for me. I made it about 30% in and just couldn’t get into the story. It had the makings of everything I look for in a book, I just couldn’t get invested in the characters or why any of the actions were happening to them.

This book is the definition of unpredictable. I won't lie, I was genuinely confused for maybe a quarter of the book, but I also feel like that just made the book that much better? This is a perfect cult/psychological horror book. It describes what these kids went through as they were growing up and how it shaped them to be who they are present day. I loved reading the two different times of past and present. Again, the only reason I knocked a star is because I was a bit confused in certain parts, but I highly recommend this book! Very unputdownable and intriguing.

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC! I am so grateful.

If you haven't heard of this novel where you end you have to check this out! It is delicious and decadently creepy. It will keep you up if you're reading it at night, but I recommend read it during the day. Where You End is one of those novels that will stay with you long after you read it. If you don't like things that are thrillers or psychological terrors in nature, then I would recommend you not read this novel but if you enjoy a little bit of terror and light to be on the edge of your seat you should pick this one up!

I don’t even know what to say about this book other than I just wasn’t a huge fan of it, they was too much with it that it just didn’t hold my interest and bored all the way.

Where You End is about two identical twins and then how an unsual form of amensia turns the twins life. They have to face the dangerous shadows of their past. This book drew me in by the cover and plot but sadly this one was not one I liked. In the beginning it was good and then somewhere in the middle I got confused. The characters were ones I didn't like and at the very end of this book I was just lost. I am going to try the authors other books but this one was not for me. Thank you to NetGalley and Publisher for this read in exchange of my honest review of Where You End by Abbot Kahler.

This book was entertaining and I think my students would enjoy this being in our classroom library. Little bit of mystery and family drama

I started this book as an advanced copy and about halfway continued with audio. The narrator for this audio has a nice voice and does a great job.

For the story itself, I feel like I lost connection and slight interest somewhere in the middle of the book. The beginning and the end kept my attention, but somewhere in the middle it seemed to lose the story

Creepy is definitely a correct word to describe this book-LOL.

I felt the hairs on my body stand up while reading this sometimes. I had to put it down and try to forget the story but was never successful for long. I keep having to pick it back up!

This was quite a read- I really enjoyed it!

When Kat wakes from a horrible accident she has no memory of who she is or of her past life. All she knows is her twin sister Jude. Now Jude is trying to help kat remember her past and fills in her childhood for her. But is Jude telling her the truth? And if not, why? As Kay tries to unravel the mystery that is her life she uncovers secrets that she may not want to know. This book has a dream like tone and made me want to find out what happened to the girls when they were young. Their parents unusual lifestyle and their traumatic past was slowly revealed and everything made sense in the end but the unraveling was slow and confusing at times. The surreal feeling of the book stayed with me long after I was finished reading. I enjoyed it. 4⭐️. Thank you NetGalley for the digital copy

This was a great emotional book. This tells a story of 2 twins, they are mirror twins. It was really cool, I've never heard of anything like this before. One twin has a terrible accident and doesn't remember anything when she wakes up so her twin is helping her remember her past and all that has happened. This book I gave a 5 stars. The cover was also so beautiful. I enjoyed this so much I made it my Aardvark book pick of the month.
