I tried to read this book, but the first chapter didn't interest me half as much as the premise of the book did.

I absolutely loved this book! It's so incredible, there're no words. The story grabbed my attention from the first chapter and I had to finish it as soon as possible.

This book was way more than I thought it was going to be. I just loved this heartfelt and angsty romance.

The witty banter between Myles and Nina injects much-needed humor into the narrative, offering brief reprieves from the weight of their struggles. It was a lovely reminder that even in the darkest of times, love and laughter can find a way to flourish. 10/10, i loved it,

I wasn't expecting the amount of music in the novel and I constantly was on Spotify. I liked Myles but I struggled to connect with Nina because she spends the majority of the book just watching life go by. I didn't like the loose ends at the end with a lot of unresolved stories.

I did get this book as an ARC from NetGally, But This book was absolutely perfect once again. The plot really had my emotions going in the best way possible! The level of spice was perfect! This book was overall moving and just something I think everyone needs to read. There’s also some life/ learning lesions that were brought up in here and talked about that really helped and made me think. Overall amazing!

I received an ARC of this novel from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Sweet love story about a woman who ensures trauma and eventually finds her way back to herself.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this eARC.

First off, let me begin by saying, I am NOT a fan of romance novels, typically, I hate em and I avoid reading them.

That said, this was a well written novel, that draws your interest and holds it until the last page!

At 28, Nina Covington has a great life. She has a lucrative career, lives in a high-rise condo in the most exclusive neighbourhood in Midtown, and her boyfriend is a successful financial consultant with clients all over the globe. Yet, when she bumps into Myles, from her life as a poor student seven years ago, her past and its dark memories come back in a rush. Nina must confront the truth of being assaulted at college. With Myles, she finds that she must face her past, or live the lie that she has been doing ever since.

This book faces several dark issues including PTSD and rape. Yet with characters such as Myles and his parents, Nina is able to deal with her past. These issues are raw and yet, the romance between Myles and Nina, helps to ease the trauma, that is at times, confronting.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

A very unexpected emotional book not to make you cry but to feel what the characters feel, you can put yourself in Nina’s shoes; feeling her pain, her mental fight between her head and her heart. You can relate to being to close to a situation that you can’t see how bad it is. Having found Myles again and how he fought to have her in his life again and protect her even from things she could not see.

The author made you love Myles and relate to Nina in ways you would never think of. And wrote Landon in a way that you hated him for what he was like.

Kat Turner’s writing is amazing! Every emotion is so raw and real and my gosh I could not stop reading once I started.
Nina’s story is one I loved to see how she was able to grow and overcome the challenges she faced. Kat really dug into the deeper emotions that go with the traumas the character faced in a way I was able to understand how deeply affected they were. I liked how I could understand the emotional side without getting overly detailed visuals regarding the trauma.
This story does have many triggers so you should read the description before reading.
Thank you Katherine Turner and NetGalley for this arc in exchange for an honest review.

(This review is based on an uncorrected e-galley of this novel)

Trigger Warnings: PTSD, SA, pregnancy loss, panic attacks, assault

There's a lot going on in this novel, and it touches on a lot of deep and emotional topics, so if that isn't for you, this novel isn't for you.

The End of Interludes follows the story of Nina as she navigates an unfulfilling job, unfulfilling relationship, and unfulfilling life. Readers learn her tragic backstory when she bumps into a person from her past and she finally starts feeling things again.

There are a few loose ends and missed opportunities in this novel. However, this is a beautiful and ambitious novel about hope and trauma recovery. I felt that the characters were well developed, despite wanting to scream at Nina a few times (because we all want to save her). Nina grows a LOT throughout this novel and she's a much better character by the end, especially because of her music and Myles.

Thanks to Netgalley, Joshua Publishing, and Katherine Turner for an e-ARC of this novel. Also, as a side note, I love the inclusion of a playlist and an idea that I saw in another book I read recently was to have a spotify code that links to the playlist included.

I am in awe of Katherine Turner's book.

I can't stress enough how caring Myles is towards Nina. He's the epitome of a romantic lead.

Thank you to Josha Publishing and Katherine Turner for the Advance Reader Copy, I was able to fall in love with the story and characters. If slow burn romance is your thing, then you must read this book.

Rating: 4.2/5

Katherine has done it once again 😭 creating such a story that brings you through it!

Nina is such a great character and I loved getting to know her. It was heartbreaking to learn all the things she went through.

Myles is such a sweetie pie, and I adored his soft character. The way he handles Nina with care and love just makes you melt.

I absolutely loved this book. You get to go through the healing process of a tragic event with Nina and watch her fall in the love as well.

I love how the author creates such a relatable story about the real-life situations and how healing is ugly and beautiful at the same time.

Please read the trigger warnings because there are dark topics throughout the book.

Katherine is one of my favorite authors and I continue to love her books 😭

The End of Interludes is an emotional and suspenseful story about the healing power of love. Partly written in a dual timeline style, this second chance romance delves into the dark and painful journey Nina navigates after surviving a horrific trauma. The author seamlessly balances this with lighthearted dad jokes, snarky banter, and steamy love scenes. Bonus points for the supporting cast - Myles’ adorable parents and sweet middle schoolers. TWs are significant, and include detailed descriptions of sexual assault, self-harm, and guilt after abortion.

The End of the Interludes is the second book I’ve read by Katherine Turner. It’s a book about PTSD, suffering, trauma, healing, falling in love, finding yourself, and freedom.
Nina Covington is a 28 year old project manager who lives a good life. She lives in a condo with her boyfriend Landon who is financially well off. Landon and Nina have a weird relationship. I feel like he thinks when they are together they are together. He travels a lot so when he travels he can do whatever he wants. Nina is with Landon bc he’s just there however, she doesn’t enjoy being with him intimately.
Myles Edwards went to college with Nina. They had a thing for each other but never took it to the next level. He is a great guy who accepts Nina for who she is and never passes judgement. Music is his life, he is a musician and goes on to teach music in school. One night while in college something happens to Nina that changed her life forever and because he saw what happened and saved her it changed him too.
What I absolutely love about Katherine’s writing is when the characters deal with their trauma and go through the healing process you go through it with them. I love the support that she gets from Myles parents Sarah and Marv. They love her unconditionally and don’t pass judgement. Nina is a survivor of her circumstances. She survived a trauma that robbed a part of who she was but it didn’t define who she will become. After a heart to heart Nina said Sarah’s words “had been a balm to her broken pieces, and now they were slightly less sharp.” I think everybody should read this this book and Madly, Deeply, Wildly. I am officially a huge fan of Katherine Turner.
Thank you to Josha Publishing, Katherine Turner, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for my honest review. I will never stop recommending her books to everybody.

This book was way more than I thought it was going to be. I was touched by the topics that were explored in The End of Interludes. I love my romance to reflect real life experiences and accurate represent mental health. And this book knocked it out of the park. Trigger warning to my friends going into this one, it is deeply emotional and contains some graphic scenes regarding sexual assault, panic attacks, conversation surrounding abortion and the main character experiences PTSD. As someone who has my own experiences with PTSD and sexual assault, I found this to be really refreshing and beautiful. I'm thankful it was a big part of the romance because we get to see the heroine heal, love, and be loved. Nina is an incredibly strong, realistic, and flawed heroine. Her journey of healing is raw and real. At times I found myself frustrated with her, but I always understood where her actions were coming from. Myles is Nina's soulmate. Knowing Nina before and after her assault he always remains supportive and by her side. He's a perfect supportive, cinnamon roll, therapy encouraging partner. Watching Nina & Myles come back to each other, I loved the way the story weaved itself through different timelines, you get a true feeling of both characters and how they're drawn back to each other. Even though this romance contains heavier themes it doesn't sacrifice the fluff or spice. Myles' family was adorable. This was my first book by Katherine Turner and it won't be my last.

This book has two well written main characters that come back together after a friendship that began in college and begin again as they were adults. I loved how everything developed in this story. Will recommend to anyone looking for this type of book!

I just loved this heartfelt and angsty romance from Katherine Turner. Nina and Myles. Nina is passive and indecisive, settling in a relationship and a job that bring her security, but no joy. Then she reconnects with Myles, who she'd fallen for in college. Myles is a musician and music weaves all the way through this novel. I had to look up the bands and the tunes and as a non-musical person this brought so much more depth to my experience.

There's a lot going on as the tragic events in Nina's history unfold and and she struggles to make sense of them and make a meaningful connection with Myles. This is a struggle for the reader to witness as she seems so passive, but it really demonstrates Nina's situation - she is completely alone, with few friends, no family at all and unresolved trauma. Myles is a honey, soooooo patient, and his family are so wonderful, all we want is for her to do the work to find herself some happiness. It's a slow burn, with a little steam and a HEA.

There are a few loose ends and missed opportunities in the writing but overall this is an ambitious but beautiful novel that highlights the aftermath and repercussions of trauma, while still giving Nina the chance of love, redemption and found family. Trigger warnings are important.

Thanks so very much to NetGalley and Katherine Turner for the ARC. This is an honest review.
