Keri is one of my MUST read and always has been. I cannot tell you how much I loved this book and the story. I am always dancing with the devil :)

Incredible series and development. Loved every word, every dialogue, and every moment. The author has such an incredible talent and ability to weave a story that unfolds perfectly paced, and one which evolves with the very best of timing.

Another author that I love but a book that I didn't. The plot and characters just didn't work for me. It has nothing to do with the writing, the author clearly knows how to write a book. I just felt no connection to anything as I was reading.

Nikki and Michael are wonderful characters that I could grow to love even more than I already do. Nikki is intelligent, brave, and pretty kickass. Michael is the mysterious man with a haunted past and fierce loyalty to those he cares about. Together, they make a good team. What made me end up quitting the book halfway through is how the plot just seemed to get bogged down. I wanted a greater sense of danger from Jasper. I wanted more tension and plot development. However, this felt like another urban fantasy where the kickass girl and her vulnerable side don't really match up, and the vulnerability seems to come out mostly to set up for moments of romance. While I love a good romance, I don't want it to overtake the plot or seem to be stuck in there for the sake of having it.
Did not finish

Unfortunately. I was unable to finish this book and have to put it on my DNR list.
I was unable to connect with the character and therefore unable to get invested in this story.
I hope in the future I might try to revisit this series.

Thanks Netgalley for a copy to read and review.
Well I was totally bored trying to read this book. I've found with this author it's really hit or miss with the love and boredom. I can't honestly say what is nagging me about the book but it just didn't suck me in. Nikki James isn't the best main character I've seen but her mediocre existence just didn't wow me. She wasn't strong but she wasn't weak either. Her partner in crime is Michael Kelly, and he failed to really connect with Nikki. No passion, no flames, just lukewarm water in a tiny bowl. Find the vampire responsible for the chaos, they needn't have looked far just set a trap because he was after Nikki. It robs me to watch people run in circles when they should just bunker down, but that's right, innocents will be lost. They were lost anyways. Sigh....so this gets a low rating for entertainment.

I was struggling between giving this book a 1-star or 2-star rating. Finally, I decided to land 2, after much pondering. I really couldn't get into the book. There was absolutely no real characterization in this book - the characters felt flat and I really couldn't feel/believe in the relationship between Nikki and Michael.
