I wish more books were this well written. Characters were witty and the setting fantastic.

This was a perfectly good romance. It was a good quick read that only took about an afternoon to really get through. I cannot say that it was entirely memorable but I did enjoy it while I was reading it. I was really happy this book was dual POV and I enjoyed my time in both of the main characters heads.

This was a fun read!

It is a cute love story with a badass female character, which i really liked.

However, i was kind of thrown off by the book description, i was expecting some kind of fantasy because the description implied goldie being able to turn everything to gold. This was not the case, and I also couldn't really find anything to imply it metaphorically.

I was also missing more romance, i feel like there could have been a little more focus on the relationship part. It seemed a little rushed through.

Now those were the only notes I had, and honestly it was really enjoyable. It was cute, there were lovable friendships, and characters overall. And there was also more of a plot than just the romance, which I can also appreciate.

Generally enjoyable, and I do recommend if youre looking for a quick cute read!

"A Touch of Gold" by [Author's Name] promises a delightful mix of romance, nostalgia, and small-town charm. However, the book falls short of its potential, leaving readers longing for more depth and character development.

The story revolves around Goldie, a young woman whose touch turns everything into gold, and David, her high school crush turned ambitious town revitalizer. As Goldie returns to her hometown to help save her family's building, old feelings resurface between her and David. Unfortunately, the portrayal of their rekindled romance lacks the emotional intensity and connection that could have made their relationship truly captivating. The chemistry between Goldie and David feels contrived, failing to evoke the depth of emotions required for readers to invest in their love story.

Moreover, "A Touch of Gold" suffers from a lack of compelling side stories or subplots. The focus remains solely on the central romance, neglecting opportunities to explore and enrich the supporting characters and their individual journeys. The absence of these additional storylines leaves the overall narrative feeling flat and fails to engage readers beyond the main characters' limited interactions.

Special thanks to NetGalley for sharing an advance reader copy (ARC) of this book, allowing readers to experience it before its release.

*Thank you, Netgalley and publisher, for giving me an arc*

This is my first book by this author.
A Touch Of Gold is a small town romance with two characters who have a history together. The love between them still exist after all this time.

Goldie is a strong female CH with a mind and opinion on her own. She doesn't let herself be influenced by anyone else.

David is somebody with a lot of feelings and love inside of him. He does not care if somebody sees he loves Goldie. He was in a difficult position. Get the girl and lie or let her sell the building.

I really liked Poppy. He was a nice grandfather.

The other characters were sweet, strong, funny, and so much more.

And I loved that Goldie was a tattooing lady. That was so awesome!

What did I not like:
- The characters did not grow throughout the story.
- The storyline was a bit too simple. No other short/small lines to other problems, etc.
- Not enough emotions/feelings for me.

This was a beautifully written book that captured a small town romance in not only a cute way, but also a spicy way. The love between David and Goldie was full of so many emotions and left my heart aching for more of every character.
Not only did David and Goldie steal my heart, but also all of the side characters too. I absolutely adored Poppy, and he reminded my of my own papa. Sabella is so full of life and confident. Kinsley was an adorable character who grew into herself by the end of the novel. Lulu I couldn’t say enough about, she stole my heart from the beginning.
I would love to see Kinsley and Sabella get their own books as well in this series.
I can’t wait for more to be added to this series, as the ending was perfect but also open for more to come.
If you’re looking for a fluffy small town romance, with a perfect amount of spice, this book is for you.

I was intrigued from the description and so glad I got to read this. It had everything that I was hoping for and didn’t want the story to end. Elizabeth Barone does everything that I was hoping for and I’m glad this is the start of this series.
