What a feel good book this was!

Jess is a midwife who has had to deal with some pretty traumatic things in the past but she is very happy with her husband Dexter and her step-son Riley. The only thing that would make her life complete is a baby of her own but will she get what she desperately wants?

Meg is happy in her new relationship with Johnnie but she still thinks about the husband and son she lost in tragic circumstances. Her daughter Tilly is struggling as well.

These two women are the focus of this book and wow, they really deal with a lot! I loved both of them and their partners and colleagues as well. The author did a good job with Tilly's characterisation!

I have to admit to actually gleaning a bit of wisdom from this book with the relationship between Meg and Tilly, which is very similar to myself and my daughter. I am also a bit of a soft touch.

Anyway, 5 stars from me.

Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books.

Thanks to the Publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

I’ve enjoyed reading all the books in this series and this one too, was just as good, if not better.

The story was well written, and covered some emotional topics, which makes you laugh as well as cry.

It had a bit about every midwife we’ve met over the course of the series as well as new faces, which I hope we get to see more of and how the lives of the midwives have changed in future books.

I highly recommend this book.

I have now reviewed some of the Cornish Midwife books and have liked them all. In this last book, Jess has many responsibilities. Work, and trying to give her stepson Riley the best life possible. A mother and baby are especially important to her and makes her want a baby of her own. But will she be able to have one?

I loved the premise of the book and I was sad that it was the last one. I am looking forward to catching up with the other books in the series and maybe going back through the entire series to find out how the other books fit in.

Happy Ever After for the Cornish Midwife has suspense, emotions and tough decisions. Jess was resilient and I was rooting for her. I wanted to review the book to find out how the series would end and I feel both happy and sad at how things ended in the series. I have a lot of book drafts myself, and know how hard it is to make an end-of-series book pack a punch while tying up loose ends and giving characters a believable and satisfying end to their character arc, but Jo Bartlett left me satisfied and she is a very skilled author.

Thanks to Jo Bartlett, Boldwood Books and Rachel's Random Resources for my eARC in exchange for an honest and voluntary review.

Happy Ever After for the Cornish midwife was a 5 star read!
I have loved everyone of these books and I think the final one in the series certainly didn’t disappoint.
Jo covered some very emotional topics in this book and I laughed and certainly cried reading it.
Beautifully written and including every midwife we’ve met so far and even a few new faces too.
I really hope there will be more to come in the future.
Thank you NetGalley and Boldwood Books and Jo Bartlett for sharing an ARC of this fantastic book.

This book was a pleasant surprise as I had thought the prior book was the end of the series. Now that it is officially done I know I will miss these characters and their stories. Jo Bartlett once again seamlessly weaves together birthing stories and the main characters' personal lives. I was really glad that she did not have Jess get pregnant with her miracle/dream baby; it just shows that there is more than one way to become a parent. It also kept the story more realistic. As always it was nice to get to check-in with the other midwives and find out how they were doing. My only complaint there is that I would have liked Ella and Dan's baby storyline to get a little more attention given what they went through in the previous book (also since they are the couple that started it all). Meg's storyline was sweet and heartbreaking all at the same time. Her struggles with her daughter just broke my heart. Luckily she had Johnnie there as her partner to love and support her through it all. And although much of Tilly's behavior is beyond awful I was glad to know she ended up getting the help she so desperately needed and that Ed was still standing by her side. I know I said this before, but I am going miss this series so much now that it has wrapped up. But on the bright side, I know Jo Bartlett will write more novels so I will still get to see what new stories and characters she creates!

Wow what a read! I have absolutely loved this series and am so sad that this is the last one. As always Jo takes us on a roller coaster of emotions. What I really love about her books is that although each one concentrates on one main character all the other characters are very much included and you get to continue to follow their stories. In this book we follow the story of Meg and her daughter Tilly. Meg’s husband and son were killed ten years previously and she is in a new relationship with the vet. Can her and Tilly really move on from the tragedy? Meanwhile midwife Jess, who has had so much heartache, has to decide if she is going to try IVF again. After having her heartbroken when she had to give up Teddy, a baby who she cared for, she must deciding if she can open her heart again to another baby through fostering. There is such a sense of community, support, friendship and family dynamics. Another fantastic read from Jo Bartlett and she is an author I would highly recommend!

Sadly the Eighth and final novel in the Cornish Midwives series and what a full best selling series this has been. I have enjoyed every single book they are all unique on their own.

As we join the midwives in Port Agnes and this book is focused mainly on Meg and Jess.
Meg's daughter Tilly faints at work, that leaves a huge surprise for Meg she is going to be a nana, and that's not all as we find another surprise for her is waiting to be told throughout the book.
Jess and her family life is also ticking over nicely with her fostering and adoption progressing has also another surprise ahead that is also to be told.
Excitement is rising over the new unit and hospital so there's lots of changes on the way.
Will it all lead to a happy ending.

This book has it usual ups and downs for the girls, that led to all my emotions going in every single chapter, I truly am going to miss this series, so lets see what this author is planning next.
It's not goodbye it's till the next time, hopefully as the author grabs us readers into her books, through and through.

I LOVED IT.

This was a fabulous end to a beautiful series. I was sad to discover this was the end but like all good things they must come to an end and look forward to the best new series from this fabulous author.

I have enjoyed every book in this series so far and this one was no exception. This is a storyline that you can’t help becoming invested in the characters and their lives and the beautiful Cornish setting. This story focussed on the characters of meg and Jess and around the issues of fertility and loss.

This was such a poignant read and a fitting end to the series.

This instalment of 'The Cornish Midwife' series merged the stories of Meg and Jess. We know some of Jess' journey already so it was great to see a conclusion to her story. Meg is a new receptionist for the midwifery unit.

When Jo Bartlett publishes a new book, no matter where it is set I just have to read it as soon as possible. Being back in St Agnes was so great as I got to go and re visit old friends and new ones too! It is a fabulous community full of friendship and love.

There are elements of heartbreak and joy in equal measure so my emotions were just all over the place, I absolutely loved it and I was pretty devastated to have finished this book so quickly!

'Happy Ever After for The Cornish Midwife' is full of grief, friendship, love and family. It was absolutely beautiful.

When I got to the end I noticed Jo Bartlett has mentioned myself in the acknowledgements and I literally cried as I've not been in there before. So thank you for also making my day with that Jo!

Read and reviewed in exchange for a free copy from NetGalley. I've loved the Cornish Midwives series from the start and this did not disappoint. The final instalment was emotive, funny, well-written and engaging, with a fantastic cast of characters. It sensitively explored difficult themes such as infertility, mental health and miscarriage, and I really rooted for Jess and Meg. I can't wait to read more from Jo Bartlett.

The Cornish Midwife series focuses around a midwifery unit in the Cornish village of Port Agnes. Happily Ever After for the Cornish Midwife was a lovely ending to a fantastic series. The setting was absolutely gorgeous and felt like coming home. The characters are so likeable and I loved their support not only for each other , but the support they gave to their community and surrounding areas.

Each book in the series focuses on different members of the midwifery team and their issues surrounding loss, infertility and grief. I highly recommend this series and am looking forward to reading many more books by this wonderful author.

This is book 8 of a great series . Can read alone. Very moving and sad at times. Lots of strong characters. I loved Hamish the doctor. The midwives are great characters . Their lives and twists in them are great to read., but sad at times. . The main story between Tilly and Meg was so moving at times . Jess was an amazing lady and her story was hard at times too. I think the ending was perfect. Gwen was a fab character too, made you laugh . Really hard to review but I absolutely loved it.
