Oh what fun. Galaxy Jones and her "friendship" with Prince Weston as they set out to save their families and all of settled space is quite an adventure. Of course, we must not forget their intrepid sidekick--Cosmos.

I love the cover of this book and was really looking forward to reading it. Unfortunately, this title was miss marketed as a graphic novel when it is in fact a novel. Marketed correctly I am sure this title will do well, but it needs to find the correct audience first.

I can't give this a proper review because I did not read it. I was under the impression this was a graphic novel, so that's my fault. The cover is cool and the plot sounds interesting, but I was not planning on reading a full-length novel at this time.

Galaxy Jones, AKA Lexi, loved being an innkeeper's daughter in deep space where she could meet tons of amazing people while hanging out with her best friend Ron. But the universe keeps expanding, and as the threat of space pirates becomes more serious, neighbors keep moving away until Lexi and Ron's families are the only ones left. That's when Weston arrives: the snooty young prince who delights in torturing Lexi and bossing her around. But it turns out, Weston isn't just here to shake up the only home Lexi has ever known. He's led a vicious pirate crew right to the inn's door, and now it's up to the two of them to fix things before someone gets killed.

Like many others, I was disappointed to discover that this book had been mislabeled and is not a graphic novel. Well, I can't really hold that against the book itself. My issues with the book are primarily in that it was slow to get going. I didn't really enjoy Weston and Lexi's initial bickering before the pirates arrive. After that, though, I had a good time admiring experimental science and thinking deeply about what it means to grow up and grow old. The world building was fun, and the characters intriguing. Growing up and accepting change are hard things for everyone, but the concept was managed carefully and satisfactorily in this story.
Special nod to the cover art. Truly a delightful thing.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC. All opinions are my own.

This was a fun and fast-paced sci-fi adventure, though I overall felt the story was a bit lacking. Set in an ever-expanding universe, main character Lexi lives in an inn with her dads on the edge of space. When the royal family, and Lexi's rival prince Weston, arrive at the inn, Lexi is sure it'll be a miserable time. Instead, she gets pulled into an adventure after learning Weston stole something from some space pirates. The characters are pretty typical for a middle grade story, what was really fun was the setting. There were so many interesting ideas poured into the worldbuilding, and most of them are only mentioned in passing. I wish more of the setting had been discussed, it would've helped fill in gaps in the story and made the book feel more realistic.

This book was marketed as a graphic novel, but there are no images in the download. This makes me hesitant on ordering it for our graphic novel collection since the download did not show any pictures.

Galaxy Jones is determined to save her family and friends from space pirates. She reluctantly agrees to help the royal prince after he steals from pirates to save her family.

I liked this premise so much, but the writing style wasn’t for me. I was expecting Galaxy to break the fourth wall more or be f more outwardly feisty, but those weren’t the vibes I got.
