I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. Great facts about screech owls including folklore, living habits and habitats.

I was given the opportunity to read this book via NetGalley. I enjoyed this book. The pictures were incredible and the content was informative. The main topic of the book was how to attract owls to your area and owl house and how to photograph them. I found it interesting but not something I am able to do at this time. The photos were really attractive. If you are interested in owls, this is an interesting book to look at; if you are wanting to attract owls to your area this is a good resource.

The Screech Owl Companion is a superb book with stunning photographs not only of the Screech Owl but other owls such as Northern Hawk Owl, Elf Owl and Spotted Owl. The photos of owlet fluffs tucked into their nest boxes are heartwarming. I love that geographical range maps, populations and vocalizations are included. Learning more about these wondrous creatures and their habitats is time well spent. An investment, actually.

The practical tips such as observing, attracting owls, predating, foods they eat as carnivores and their enemies (including toxins) are extremely helpful. The information on boxes, their placements and nestcams are intruguing. We have game cameras to watch wildlife in our yard but now I am inspired to invest in a mini cam to put into the box I am creating. Spotting my first (and only screech owl in the wild, so far) was momentous. The "hosting owls" wording hits me in the heart. Owl hosts' biggest surprises and advice are fun to read about. There is even a section on photographing owls!

Owl lovers, this book has your name on it! Pure unadulterated joy on each page.

My sincere thank you to Timber Press and NetGalley for providing me with a digital copy of this stupendous book.

I love owls, collect owls of any type and would like to attend a falconry course. This was a book that talked to my heart, made me learn a lot of thing, and was fascinated by the pictures
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher for this ARC, all opinions are mine

It’s nice to read a book about Screech Owls that not only provides information about the owls themselves but also about how to build nesting boxes and attract them to your property. The writing style is very readable and I appreciated how many full color photos were included.

The Screech Owl Companion by Jim Wright; Scott Weston is a book of knowledge for owl lovers. I often hike with a camera in hopes of seeing an owl. I have seen and photographed many barred and great horn owls in nature, but I have never seen a screech owl in the wild. I was glad to read more tips on how to spot habitats and signs of screech owls. The Screech Owl Companion includes instructions for building a nesting box. I have one now on our property, so hopefully an owl will find it soon.
Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and publisher for the opportunity to read this book.

The Screech Owl Companion by Jim Wright and Scott Weston isn't just spectacular it's phenomenal!

I'm an Owl fan. They are hugely beneficial and I am also a Master Naturalist so I am continually educating about them and especially about putting poisons out for rodents, etc. because of the exponentially great risk to an owl's life.

The Screech Owl Companion doesn't just stay on Screech Owls, that's important to know. But this is a very comprehensive book on owls. From types to habitat, range and basically everything one needs to know about owls.

The book has a good format and photography. From owl anatomy, behavior, habitat, protecting this book covers it all.

One of the parts of the book I especially appreciated was how to build a correct owl box and the nest cam part. We have one up and within the week it was inhabited. There is much to learn about owls and this book even though it is very comprehensive would be suitable for children also, more upper elementary grade students, and on.

I highly recommend The Screech Owl Companion!

Thank you for the EArc. The Screech Owl Companion gives you the perfect amount of information about owls. It even gives you directions on how to build an owl box and who wouldn’t want one of these amazing creatures in your yard to admire from afar? This was a fabulous book with beautiful photos and I highly recommend it to anyone that wants a deeper glimpse into the lives of these mysterious creatures.

While the print in the book was hard to read in the format that I got from NetGalley the book was still a great read, very educational and interesting.

Nature enthusiasts and open kids, come here!! This gem of a book really inspired me to make a lil owl box. It has tips on how to build and maintain one alongside sooooo many factoids about the kinds of owls you may see in your area and otherwise. There a quick section about superstition surrounding owls which made go on a little research mission of my own cultural (mexican american) owl superstition and learned something beyond the book too!

Tysm for this arc of such fantastic and wonderful creatures
