I really liked the idea of this story and the relationship between Ed and Mia however as i was reading this i found it a really slow read; I found it took a long time to get into the story with some parts of the story seeming irrelevant, like the part of Mia's sister. It added some dimension to the character but I was struggling to see how it related to the plot line.

Kristen Bailey is a very funny writer and this book did have me laughing from the get go; I don't think we need to be told how the image of the fan incident can get us in hysterics. I did love how this book talked very openly about sex and that this shouldn't be a topic that we become coy about especially with our closest friends and that asking for advice is okay. I think the topics of first time was written really well and portrayed the genuine feelings with all of it. The bits i didn't love was that I felt it was a slow moving book and i wasn't really hooked into it to keep picking it up. The plot did pick up once Mia and Ed commenced their lessons and the way these were written by Bailey was excellent.

If you are in need of a good laugh than I highly recommend you read this right away however read it where you won't get weird looks from people when you are laughing out loud in public! :)

Absolutely loved this book! Witty, hilarious, fabulous characters. So much better than I was expecting. Just brilliant.

This book isn’t one that I would normally choose as I’m more of a thriller reader but wanted to read something laugh out loud funny, and this sure did that. A laugh out loud read that had tears of laughter rolling down my face at times.

I honestly don’t like this trope … inexperienced vs experienced, let me show you what to do in bed. It’s never anything but cringe half the time and it’s rarely done right.

Best part of this book is the relationship (outside of the sex ed) between Mia (messy English teacher) and Ed (buttoned up Math teacher). They really are the best of friends and complete opposites. It’s the truly fun and charming moments that saved this book for me.

“FUCK, YEAH!”
I could quite easily began – and end – my book review with those two succinct, and rather emphatic, words as spoken by my most favourite of Kristen Bailey’s characters.
…
…but I won’t.
Because that would be too premature.
And because any new read from the quill (more likely a laptop these days, but I do like to imagine Kristen Bailey penning such funny and filthy lines on parchment using a scratchy nib whose tip she has to constantly dip into a wet pot of ink) of one of my favourite writers deserves something more than a simple “fuck, yeah”. A quickie review just won’t satisy.
This is my seventh visit into Ms. B’s world of mischief and mayhem and this trip has, once again, delighted me. Her writing gives me great pleasure and as long as her world is open to explore then I’ll keep coming.
In “Sex Ed” we are introduced to Mia and Ed, two work colleagues who, on the face of it, are demonstrably at odds with each other. Ed is ordered and orderly, fastidious and fussy while Mia is, simply, chaos personified. Yet these two twenty-something singletons form a solid friendship and trust that leads them into an arrangement that is the meat of this throroughly entertaining story.
The author liberally spreads her own brand of filth and fun throughout the book which, as any prior reader of her work will acknowledge, is one of the things we have come to love about her books; she’s rude, she’s fun, she’s a treat you want more of.
I’ve said it before in my earlier reviews of her books; Kristen’s novels are simply the funniest and most delightful rom-coms you’ll have the pleasure of reading. She creates characters who you warm to immediately and who you root for throughout the tale she weaves, seemingly effortlessly, onto the parchment, sorry page. In short, we care for her characters; we are raised by their ups and devastated by their downs. Being able to craft such tender characters while continuing to insert halarious sexual innuendos and double-entendres into the plot is no mean feat and Ms. B has proven herself to be a very hard act to follow in this regard and is stiff competition for her peers to tackle.
I won’t spoil the fun for anyone but, if you’ve read any of my reviews of Kristen’s earlier “Callaghan Sisters” series, then you’ll be pleased to see a familiar girl appear in this latest book. I was delighted to come upon her again.
In fact, the quote right at the top of this review is just what you’d expect from my most favourite Callaghan girl.
And “Sex Ed” is just what we have come to expect – demand? – from one of the brightest young writer’s in Britain today.
(I hope I have been successful in peppering my review with a heady load of innuendo that is entirely to Ms. B’s taste.)

I absolutely LOVED this book! It was refreshingly honest, witty, hilarious, heartwarming, and had two of the most loveable characters ever…it was just divine 😍

Mia and Ed are both secondary school teachers who have been friends for a number of years. When Ed drunkenly reveals to Mia that he is still a virgin, Mia agrees to take him under her wing and give him some sex education…this involves ‘practical’ sessions which lead to Mia seeing Ed in a whole new light. But Ed has fallen for new Maths teacher, Caitlin, and Mia being the ultimate friend she is, helps him to win her over. Caitlin is NOT a nice girl as you will learn and when she started slagging off Mia to Ed I felt all the rage. How dare she?! But will Ed see through Caitlin’s facade and see what has been right under his nose all these years?

Mia was an absolute stand out character. She’s fierce, feisty, knows what she wants, honest, hilarious…I just loved her. I wish I was friend worth her! Her and Ed are complete opposites but they do say that opposites attract! I liked how the author talked openly about sex, but not in a cringy way. It was just a very honest, realistic exploration. The first time stories at the beginning of the book had me hooked straight away!

There was so much I liked about this book but I would run out of characters if I listed everything! This was a really joyful, feel good, happy book that I would 100% recommend. The best characters and such a funny, original plot.

The concept behind why the author wrote this one is fabulous. She did a great job showing what can go wrong with sex. It's not always as it is portrayed to be. She had me giggling multiple times. Such a cute rom-com.

Kristen Bailey is becoming one of my very favourite authors! I'm slowly making my way through her books and so far I am loving them!

Predictable yes, but an utter delight of a book from start to finish!
Ed is adorable, and I think I may be a little in love with him, and Mia is just hilarious!

I was immediately drawn into the story and the friendship between Mia and Ed, and added with some laugh-out-loud moments, some hilariously cringey ones, as well as a ending that had me in tears, I certainly recommend this one!

It took me two attempts to start this one, however as soon as I got into it, I really got into it! I t was a little bit predictable, but it was warm, funny and light hearted. I am looking forward to reading more of Bailey's work!

This book was so cute! HE is the v!grin of the story and she helps him learn the ropes. And she shows him where that spot that the majority of men can’t seem to find. She’s a queen.

The characters banter was fun. Like I said the MMC is the v!rgin, which is rare, so that made a fun dynamic. There were times that had me cackling at work. Not laughing. Cackling.

I did listen to this on audiobook, and the narration was great!

Kristen Bailey is one of the most consistent, hilarious authors I know, so I was absolutely thrilled, and ever so chuffed when she invited me to be part of her launch party over on Instagram, for her brand new book, Sex Ed! Of course, I wasn’t surprised to discover that this book didn’t disappoint.

So … quite by accident, Ed, at the age of 28, finds himself still a virgin. This is a highly embarrassing fact that he intends to keep to himself. Most importantly, he knows he cannot share this information with his best friend and fellow teacher, Mia, who is entirely uninhibited about absolutely all and everything, and bless her, cannot keep a secret even if her life depended on it!

Everything about Mia and her life (including her love life) is messy and disorganised, whereas Ed’s life depends on neatness, organisation, and everything running like clockwork. They are as different as night and day, except when it comes to their teaching – they both rate as the most favourite teachers at the school where they teach; no mean feat when it comes to teaching teens (who know it all, and who miss nothing).

But then, disaster strikes one horrendous night when a drunken Ed admits his shameful secret to Mia! He’s sure he’s made a huge mistake and will never be able to face her – or set foot in the staff room – ever again. But he hasn’t reckoned on his friend’s big heart and the lengths she’s willing to go to to ensure that Ed is best prepared to … ahem … ‘enter’ … into a world that will include the intimacy that he so wishes it had. And when sweet new teacher Caitlin arrives on the scene, someone who wears alice bands and who appears to be just Ed’s type (i.e. the opposite of Mia), then it becomes very clear that now is the time for him to learn everything he’ll need to know!

What follows is, well, interesting to say the least. I’d love to know what Kristen Bailey’s Google search history looks like! Actually, I’d like nothing more to have a sit-down and a chat about how she does her research! Yes … there is a LOT of sex! It’s graphic. If you’re at all prudish, in the slightest way, then I’d suggest that this is NOT the book for you! But, oh my word, the humour! The turn of phrase, inserted (again … ahem!) at just the right moment! It’s truly inspired, and makes for laugh-out-loud reading!

But, as with all of Kristen’s books, it’s not all about sex and innuendo. There are back-stories with depth and detail, and supporting characters who have such warmth, which all add an element of charm and which ensure a fully-rounded story. I adored Mia and Ed and I loved this gorgeous story that’s all about hilarity, sincerity, loyalty, love and friendship.

In case you weren’t sure … I highly recommend Sex Ed by Kristen Bailey!

Word of Advice: Don't read this with eats or sips, you may snort it out.

I've seen quite a few say the rom wasn't roming, but I loved Ed & Mia. The chemistry was there. The friends-to-lovers was there.

If I had to describe this book in one word it would be hilarious! Had me laughing out loud so many times I thought I was going to injure myself.

Ed and Mia could not be more chalk and cheese, and reminded me of the 40 year old virgin movie.

I've been a fan of Kristen Bailey for a while now and I've read all of her books about the Callaghan sisters. This book is a stand alone story (although there may be a few references to the Callaghans) and it certainly did not disappoint. Mia and Ed's story of will they, won't they, stole my heart. It is such a refreshing storyline with Bailey's usual sprinkle of spice.

I could not say enough good things about this book. Between the characters, storyline and the brilliant cover I loved it. Everyone must read.

I absolutely tore through this book and really loved it. The characters felt so real and perfectly flawed and it was so interesting to follow along. Perhaps predictable at the end but I really enjoyed the plot and thought it was kept really interesting. I always love reading about books set in London and this one was full of fun slang and pop culture references. Definitely recommend this one to all!

Sex Ed was so funny that I laughed so hard I almost peed my pants, stopping only to follow Kristen Bailey on Instagram and buy all of her books as well. If you have a sense of humor, aren't a prude, and like a rom com, grab some wine and dive in.
