I LOVED this book!! Bailey has a fantastic way of developing characters. Mia shines, Ed is dependable, lovable, and brave. Usually in dual-POV I have a preference, but that is not the case here. I enjoyed reading both perspectives.

Bailey employed perfect pacing, has a great sense of humor, and really was able to use both in this book. Would highly recommend!

I really enjoyed this book! It was such a refreshing change of pace to read about a character who is so sex-positive! The characters were relatable and likable, and the plot kept me engaged from beginning to end. I didn't want it to end.

ed and mia are work colleagues, they both started working at the same school together on the same day, they are united teachers together

mia is outgoing and friendly and parties hard.... she has many sexual partners and adventures as she can
ed is quieter and still looking

but most of all these two are the best of friends but one of them has a very deep secret

so when new teacher caitlin starts at their school they all go out to welcome her and it gets very messy with shots... and thats where ed gets very drunk and lets out his big secret.... hes never slept with anyone...not from want of trying

and so begins the funniest book i have ever read... mia with all her experience decides to help out her best friend and ed being in need takes this opportunity so that he can have caitlin as his girlfriend without it being a disaster

theres a lot more to this story and i have to say i surprises myself with how much i laughed out loud and thought what else can happen but this author kept everything moving along with plenty of laughs and oh mys along the way

and i think i have found another author to keep an eye out for

This book would be a very cute rom-com movie. The science teacher virgin and the experienced English teacher who is going to give him lessons, it is movie gold! The characters in the book were like able and relatable (maybe just because I am an English teacher lol) but I was rooting for them from the beginning! A fun cute beach read for the summer!

Free-spirited, sex-positive chick wants to help her tightly-found virgin guy friend, Ed (get it!?), get laid. Yes, I read it based on the premise alone.

It was a bit clinical in parts but it was pretty good. It was missing some emotional angst for me. Or at least a spark between the leads — I didn’t really feel it. They were friends, yes, but I didn’t feel it went much beyond that.

But I found it amusing AF. Funny and British and Britishly funny.

This is a romantic comedy. Mia is helping her best friend Ed overcome his anxiety about being a virgin. She is teaching him about sex. I thought the idea was fantastic. I just felt like it missed the mark. I had a hard time connecting the characters together. It was a fun lighthearted idea, but it was lacking something for me.

Thank you to Netgalley for allowing me to read this book in return for an honest review. I am a big fan of Kristen Bailey so was really looking forward to her new book. All I can say is wow! My new favourite book by her! I absolutely loved it. I flew through it as it was so good I didn’t want to put it down. Absolutely hilarious and not at all cheesy. I loved the Mia and Ed dynamic, it was perfectly written. The ending was what I was hoping for all along and I did shed a few happy tears. Highly recommended with a massive 5 stars from me.

This is my first Kristen Bailey book but it certainly won’t be the last. Thanks to Sex Ed, I have fallen in love with this author’s storytelling and am excited to read more. Sex Ed features a fairly unusual premise and what could have easily been a little awkward and improbable instead became truly laugh-out-loud funny whilst underpinned by a poignancy that I found remarkably touching. My favourite romcom of the year so far. Highly, highly recommended.

Words cannot begin to describe how much I enjoyed this story; it really is a rollercoaster, but in the best way. Packed full of emotions and visuals, I was so beyond invested that I never wanted to put it down. I adored Mia and Ed’s friendship and loved seeing how they developed together and separately throughout the book. It was hilarious, real and raw. I absolutely loved Bailey’s writing style and cannot wait to read more of their work!

I highly recommend to Rom-Com lovers, YA fans, and everyone in between.

I loved this book so much. It hit me personally because I saw so much of myself and my fiancé in Mia and Ed. I love that the antagonist is someone unexpected. I was expecting more of a “we agreed I would teach you that’s it” break up. I loved that Mia fell first I was totally expecting it the other way around. Maybe it was?

Kristen Bailey is easily a new favorite author of mine after reading Sex Ed. This book was funny, sexy, educational, and I could not put it down. I love the character development, the sex positivity, and the all around realness and relatability of Ed and Mia! Thank you for the ARC, I will be reading more from this author!

A laugh out loud rom-com with light hearted, fun romance.

Synopsis
Ed likes plans, he irons his pants, loves structure, but he's very awkward when it comes to sex. Mia is the opposite, Ed's best friend is outgoing, talks all about sex and is very spontaneous.

'I'm not sure how it happens but the tip of the condom gets caught in the wiring net of the fan. It's pulled instantly off my penis and sucked through the wire so that it is spinning on the fan blades.'

When Mia discovers Ed is still a virgin at 28, she takes matters into her own hands and helps Ed discover his sexuality - guiding him through what to do with a woman so he becomes more confident.

Showing Ed the ropes, he turns his attention to the pretty new maths teacher, Caitlin. As their relationship grows, Mia finds out Caitlins secret and eventually realises, even though she was just helping Ed with his sexual education, that there may be feelings there.

Thoughts
Ed's awkwardness was so funny, bless him and the commentary throughout had me snorting in places.

Some of the side characters, mainly Donna, were also hilarious, especially with her sexual creative writing.
I enjoyed the light heartedness of the story, and seeing Ed come out of his shell more and more when it came to sex, Mia successfully completing her mission of 'Sex Ed'.

Mia and Ed — best friends since they began teaching at the same school. Complete opposites — Ed is the buttoned up, uber nerdy, straight laced guy in contrast to Mia’s utterly unbuttoned up (literally — she spends a lot of time on Tinder), party girl who nevertheless has a wonderful way with her students. When Mia finds out that Ed is still a virgin at 28, she takes it upon herself to give him a good (and very thorough) sex education.

It’s pretty obvious that they will eventually get together but it’s done with a lot of humor, some very explicit (and well thought out) sexual instruction, and a warm, tear inducing finish. It’s a Rom-com with plenty of detailed rom and a Rosie Project feel. A little too much of the plot depends on miscommunication which is not my favorite technique, but the book is generally upbeat and fun.

A quick read but then I did skim over a lot of the sex ed scenes as found them cringey tbh
There was some good humour and a great writing style…infiormal and relaxed and a lot of people will love this book but parts of it were just for me

Sex Ed by Kristen Bailey is a quick and fun read. I was a hooked immediately by the fun cover and dove into the story of Mia and Ed.

When friends Mia and Ed take their friendship to a different level, neither expect it to change the dynamic of their relationship with each other, but deal with the consequences of that. It was refreshing to read a book where the woman has the experience and is teaching the man. Mia was so matter of fact with her body and Ed was endearingly sweet.

Not to put spoilers in, this book was a great take on the virgin trope. I'll be looking forward to more from Ms. Bailey.

When I first started this book I thought it was going to be a bit much. But everything was contextual and so funny, I loved it . The characters Mia and Ed played so well off each other that even though at times you might not like them, you had to love them in the end. A brilliant story.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed all of Bailey’s novels thus far.

This is a brilliantly written, sex positive story. With great characters and a fantastic blend of emotion and comedy, this was a very quick read purely because I couldn’t put it down!

This was my first novel by Kristen Bailey and it had me howling with laughter. As the story went on, it ended up being really sweet. I loved Mia and Ed's dynamic, and its not every day that you see the virgin main character being the man.

I have to give this book a great big yes, yes, YES! A delight from start to finish, I fell head over heels for Mia and Ed and now want them to be my friends.
The storyline was a terrific romcom, reminiscent of The Late Blossoming of Frankie Green and Sex Education. Thoroughly entertaining, wonderfully uninhibited and just such fun. I grinned so often, my husband asked me what I was reading, and genuinely didn’t want to have to stop reading to go to sleep. The ending made me happy. I devoured the book and was left wanting to read more by this witty author.

I didn't think I could love anything more than the authors series about the callaghan sisters but Sex Ed is just as funny just as engrossing and so easy to read that before you know it you have finished the whole book.
