Emrik is the sixth instalment in Cyndi Friberg’s Lunar Uprising series and it continues the adventures and the struggle of the Lunar Raider as they attempt to not only get control of their lives, but protect earth from the Pylorians and the Dox tory. As a fan of the series it’s been clear that each book of the Lunar Uprising series builds upon what has been happening previously and Emrik is no different. In this book we meet blogger, reporter Chloe Harlow who is searching for her disappeared cousin Jenna. Jenna and group of women were supposedly off to meet prospective mates on Lunar Prime but something has gone and Chloe intends to figure it out and get her back. To do this she stows away on a ship that she hopes will take her to save her cousin but ends up on a whole different adventure. Emrik is an agent who is an empath and searching for a cure for the syndrome plaguing his fellow Raiders and discovers that there’s a stowaway on his ship and she is his mate. Emrik can be read as a standalone book but having a background on the story thus far would not be a bad idea as we meet previous characters along with new ones. As with the other books in the series be prepared for intense sexual scenes as this book continues to expands on the Lunar Raider’s desires to find a permanent home, get their independence and find their mate. Now that I have read this one I can’t wait for the next story which hopefully may be Riley or Kaslo. Now you guys go grab yourself a copy and enjoy! I received an ARC copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving this review.

I really enjoy reading this series because they are fun reads. There is a suspenseful sci-fi story, interesting characters, a sweet romance, and steamy scenes. In this one, Chloe stowaways from Earth to the Lunar Raiders planets. As an investigative reporter, Chloe is not only worried about her missing cousin but the eleven other missing girls signed up for a program that found mates for Lunar Raiders. Emrik is an empathic Lunar Raider on a secret mission. Emrick soon realizes that there is a female stowed away on the ship and she might be his soulmate. I received a free copy of this ebook from the publisher. This is my honest and voluntarily given review. I really enjoyed reading this book.

Cyndi Friberg's Lunar raider series has been a favorite of mine since It began. Emrik, the latest novel in the series, is a great addition to the story. Emrik, a Lunar Raider with empathic abilities, is sent to find out why Lunar Raiders not stationed o Earth's moon are collapsing and dying, en masse, Simultaneously, human reporter/vlogger Chloe stows away on his ship. She's in search of 12 missing women who signed to be Lunar Raider brides, then disappeared. The minute they meet, both sense something strange, powerful, and very attractive, but untangling the complex links that prove their missions are linked, and critical takes precedence. The growing sexual tension and gentle pacing of the romance contrasts with the mounting horror and danger of the joint mission to rescue the women from experiment and exploitation, and save the nLunar Raiders from genocide. The good guys aren't always squeaky clean, or entirely open. The bad guys do have their reasons and their redeeming moments. Nothing is for certain until the very end - and thankfully that includes a future for Erik and Chloe. This is my unbiased recommendation as an ARC reviewer: Read Emrik. Even better: read all the Lunar Raiders series. Treat yourself to fine world building, strong female leads who deserve, and earn, the love of the galaxy's sexiest, strongest engineered heroes, and unforgettable thrilling space adventures.

What I liked about Chloe was her willingness to do anything, and put aside personal safety, in order to search for her friend. Finding Emrik and realizing just how far he is willing to go for family, was just the icing on that cake.

EMRIK is the sixth instalment in Cyndi Friberg’s contemporary adult LUNAR UPRISING sci-fi romance series. This is human journalist /blogger Chloe Harlow, and Lunar Prime’s top covert agent Emrik’s story line. EMRIK can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

SOME BACKGROUND: Eight years earlier, six Pylorian spaceships arrived on Earth asking for asylum claiming they were fleeing their immortal enemy, the wolf-like Morax, but in the ensuing years, the Pylorian began to take control, using their considerable powers to force the governments of Earth to do their bidding. In an effort to protect Earth, the Pylorian’s claim to have cultivated aka created the lunar raiders, a hybrid of three alien species (Morax, Pylorian, Dox Tory) one of which reacts instantly when their destined mate is near.

Told from dual omniscient third person perspectives (Chloe and Emrik) EMRIK follows in the wake of the disappearance of more than twelve human females, thought to be meeting their prospective Lunar Prime mates. Chloe Harlow’s cousin Jenna is one of the missing women, and in an effort to uncover the truth, and locate her missing cousin, Jenna bribes her way onto a cargo ship heading to Lunar Prime but all does not go according to plan when Chloe finds herself facing a man who claims to be her mate. Enter cover agent Emrik, and the man with whom Chloe will fall in love. As Chloe and Emrik travel through space in an effort to locate the missing women, a tale of possible human trafficking and medical experiments will hit too close to home. What ensues is the building relationship between Chloe and Emrik, and the potential fall-out as the team discover more than they had ever hoped to find.

The relationship between Chloe and Emrik is one of fated mates but Chloe is on a mission, and Emrik is willing to bide his time to claim the woman that calls to his heart. Chloe suspects that her time with Emrik may be limited as she struggles to trust the ‘fated bonds’ but together they will uncover the truth, freeing the women who were duped into believing they had found ‘the one’. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate.

The secondary and supporting characters include Emrik’s temporary crew of Kalso and Malzon, the twelve missing women including Riley, as well as lunar raider Prime Commander Vosic Parso, recon-class commander Leko; medic-class commander Benlon, and the woman in charge of procuring human mates Catriona. The requisite evil has many faces.

EMRIK is a story of betrayal, search and rescue, loss, love and acceptance. The fast paced premise intriguing and entertaining; the romance is fated and subtle; the characters are energetic, determined and desperate.

This was a great story that had two people meeting for the first time and they have an instant connection. Emrik is determined to follow through with his current mission. While trying to mediate before the mission begins he is feeling a strong connection to a human female. He was not expecting to find such a strong willed woman named Chloe. Chloe is determined to find the missing women including her cousin Jenny. When she is discovered on the ship she snuck on she can’t help but be shocked by the strong connection she has with Emrik. Will they both complete what they set out to do while also working on the strong connection they have?

This is a good read. Chloe is a reporter. She feels something is not right with the bride program. She kinda stumbles on her match. Her quest has many obstacles and twists. I enjoyed it.
