Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an electronic copy to read in exchange for an honest review.

I adore this book. Children will discover and learn about mental health challenges, how they appear, and, most importantly, strategies to try. A great book with amazing illustrations- sure to be of use to parents and teachers alike.

Cute picture book about emotions and handling them. I'm a big fan of robots so I was really excited for this book. I feel it's a little too obvious for my taste. Good for lower grades, not so much my fifth graders.

Meltdown! Is a super cute book about a robot with big feelings. To be honest, what attracted me to this book was the fact that one of my littles struggles with very big feelings and I was looking for a way to normalize what they were feeling.

This book not only does that, but it also offers some ways to cope with those big feelings which was an added bonus.

What my little liked the most was seeing a (to them) unconventional character having familiar feelings. I think the choice of characters makes the story seem less like they're trying to teach you a lesson and more like they are sharing a fun story.

So if you have a little with big feelings, I encourage you to check out Meltdown!

I would like to thank Netgalley and the publishers for allowing me to share this story with my children. I received an advance review copy for free and am voluntarily leaving this review. All of the opinions are my own.

Cute book teaching kids about meltdowns and how to calm down from them.
I read this with my 7 year old who loved this, he loved the drawings and giggled at the funny puns. This book would be good in a classroom.

This was a super cute book that any child who loves robots will enjoy! Even as the parent, I had fun reading this with my daughter and chuckled at all the puns. It also serves as a good reminder to parents and adults that our little ones will need our care and patience when they are having their own meltdown.

An adorable story about a little robot dealing with its big feelings. With a helpful section in the back on working through big emotions with you children, this book is a helpful tool in helping kids understand that we all have big feelings, and that's okay!

This book was outstanding. Filled with cute pictures and a great message for kids, also filled with puns for adults. I read the message in the back a LOT about how to deal with meltdowns too. Truly so helpful! I really want to own this book.

This fun book is an important book for an SEL shelf. This is definitely something I’d use both in a whole class lesson and with an individual having a rough day.

I loved how through the medium of a robot, the authors have explained about the meltdown and ways of getting out of it.
The illustrations of the book were nothing but cute.

I feel this is a great way of teaching children about meltdowns.

Meltdown is a humourous picture book with very clever wordplay and engaging illustrations. But this book also has an important message for families: having a meltdown is normal. Woven in the text are some great strategies for kids to try when they are feeling upset. The back matter, written by a psychologist, offers more information for parents, including how to look after themselves during a meltdown, and when to go for more help. But the story itself, is super fun and will be a recurring request by young readers.

Meltdown by David Griswold is the perfect book to read when helping young children understand that big feelings and meltdowns are a part of life. It is important for children learn how to navigate meltdown moments and this comical story will open the door to having those crucial conversations surrounding big emotions and self-regulation strategies because "Even robots sometimes malfunction!"

Thank you to David Griswold, Magination Press and NetGalley for the ARC and opportunity to review this adorable book! Children will get a kick of the punny text and entertaining illustrations and I'm looking forward to getting my hands on a copy in February 2024!

Meltdown is a new favorite in our house -- my four year old is already requesting to read it over and over. I loved the very accessible conversations about self regulation and calming ourselves while engaging little ones with the fun of robots. I also loved the puns and illustrations. At the end there's great information about self regulation. Most of all I love that it gave strategies for calming down and how we can all reset. I'll definitely be purchasing my own copy!

This was a super cute book. I am a youth mental health therapist, and I can definitely see myself sharing this book with clients as a resource to teach kids that it’s okay to experience our anger & teach them how to cope with it appropriately. The illustration are great too!
