I spent many a year devouring The Vampire Academy books by Richelle Mead. The world building was enveloping and the characters had me invested.
This new series was not as strong in either the world building or characters and I struggled to care much what happened.
Still, Mead writes super well and the story was enough to keep me reading to the end.
