This was a great collection of stories! I had not heard many of these before, so it was a treat to dive into the masterful telling of horror and suspense.

If you love horror, you are going to want to read this book! I highly recommend!!!

Just finished Gene Wolfe's The Dead Man and Other Horror Stories. Wow. I've read several books by Gene Wolfe, but not short stories. These were great. Hard to pick a favorite, but I would say "Why I Was Hanged" was my favorite. #TheDeadManandOtherHorrorStories #NetGalley

Wolfe is the king of horror fantasy, hands down. I have been hooked since 'The Book of the New Sun', which is a must read. This collection is amazing and some really good short stories, just can't say enough, read it!

Gene wolfe once again proves he is a master of the page with this very scary and fun collection of short horror stories. Usually with collections not every story is of the came caliber but that is not the case with this collection. Each story finds a new way to make your skin crawl and the hair on your neck stand up.

This is a fantastic short story collection. There's not a bad story in the bunch and it's still a very solid collection from Gene Wolfe. My favorites in here are "The Seraph from Its Sepulcher", "Hunter Lake", "Redbeard", and "Black Shoes". Each story is a bit different but they all are very thought-provoking and smart. A great read overall.

In the horror anthology the dead man and other horror stories by Jeanne Wolf they have many stories and although not all or top-notch at the very least they were interesting my favorite was The Innocent because dreams can be spooky but is it a dream? My second favorite story is the third one called Before There Were Mansions, Because of humans are extinct who are these bipedal creatures who can talk and eat each other? This book was really good and one you really should make time to read because putting it down will be hard to do as I say not all the stories Will have you screaming in fear but they will all make you think and have you glued to the page. A truly entertaining anthology I received this book from NetGalley and the publisher but I am leaving this review voluntarily please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.

This was such a good concept in the horror genre, it had a great collection of stories going on. I was never bored when reading this and each story worked overall. Gene Wolfe does a great job in writing this and I enjoyed how different each story was.
