Thank you to Netgally, the publishers, and Cheryl Bolen

When I requested this book I was unaware that it was apart of a series, one that requires you to read the previous books for this one to make sense. I am unable to read all the previous books along with this one before the publish date. Therefore, I will rate this a fair 3/5 stars and will adjust the rating and review when I am able to read all the books in the series along with this one.

A Chance Encounter Leads to Both Love and Peril

When Georgiana sees the face of a woman whom she thinks has long been dead, her life changes forever. She meets Charles, who carries her to safety after her shock. Then, malicious rumors begin to spread about her in the London Gazette. Who wishes the lady ill will? Is there a connection to the woman come back from the dead and the wicked lies in the Gazette? As Charles and Georgiana investigate, they uncover a web of evil and murder, and their investigation puts Georgiana's life in peril. Who is this woman Georgiana saw, and what does she and Charles discover? I enjoyed this story and would recommend it to lovers of historical romance with mystery and suspense.

Vindicated by A Viscount. I am so happy to have read this book. Charles and Georgina has helped climb out of my historical romance slump. This couple is totally cute. I loved how they first meet in the book.
Charles is so very galant as Georgina’s hero. I thought that the storyline was excellently written. I was entertained from the beginning to end. And the humor among the characters was so amazing. It was terrific. These moments kept the story moving along with the plot which was logical to Charles and Georgina’s goals and perhaps Devon’s as well.
I thought that Devon would tear Charles from limb to limb when he barged through the door. The romance was a somewhere over the rainbow kind of love where two people explore their feelings for one another. I give this book two snaps and a twist. Until next time my fellow readers. Read on!

This is the fifth book of the Beresford Adventures and the story centers around Georgiana Beresford. Georgiana's clumsiness is what finds her in the arms of Charles, Viscount Churston, and ultimately how she ends up married to him. While walking one evening, she becomes distracted thinking that she has just seen her late pianoforte instructor's ghost. When she turns too quickly she trips and falls onto the muddy street, injuring herself. Charles sees her and out of misplaced chivalry, carries her home. He is instantly taken by her, and when he checks in on her the next day, he finds out the papers have already tarnished her good name. He then decides to offer her marriage. While Georgiana has no choice but to accept and she is no doubt attracted to him, she is disheartened at the fact he is only offering out of his sense of honor and not love. But as they both work together to find out the identity of the strange woman Georgiana had thought to be a ghost, and of who is trying to ruin her reputation, they grow closer and their friendship develops into something more.
An entertaining story with elements of mystery and intrigue that kept me engaged and turning the pages. The characters were interesting and I enjoyed getting to know them and following their story. An enjoyable addition to the series!

Thank you for this interesting read NetGalley. Georgiana was going to visit her cousin and took a tumble in the street when she looks up at a woman getting into a carriage that supposedly died six years ago. Charles comes along and carries her home because she has hurt her leg. Then there are articles in the paper trying to ruin her reputation the next day. Charles who is a viscount and has been in love with her at first sight when she was visiting her birther at Eton proposes to her and she who fell in love with him at first sight, says yes. They try to stop the articles in the paper. Finally decide she didn't die in the fire years ago and start to investigate. As they work together they know each other better and become closer. Georgiana is kidnapped and Charles and her cousins rescue her. Then he must admit his long time love for her.

Trouble just seems to find people named Beresford. Miss Georgiana Beresford innocently ends up being the object of a scandal sheet (think National Enquirer). On her way to visit her sister, alone, though she should not have been, she sees a "ghost". The vision makes her slip and fall. Chivalry comes in the form of one Charles, Viscount Churston, who carries her the short distance home. Though very innocent, it becomes the thing sordid scandals are made of by some unknown person. One necessary marriage later does not make things any better. However, the unknown person(s) did them a favor since the marriage is very satisfying to both. The whole family gets involved in trying to discover who is responsible for damaging Georgiana's reputation. Then the fun begins, intrigue, mystery, a search for the villains, and danger follow. A nice, quick, and enjoyable read. I do hope that a story for James is coming. Love for a person who doesn't believe in love would be interesting.

Vindicated by a Viscount by Cheryl Bolen is an entertaining tale of a gentleman who inadvertently ruined a young woman by helping her home after she took a tumble and sprained her ankle. Granted, Charles, Viscount Churston’s idea of helping Miss Georgiana Beresford was to carry her home. Nothing more untoward than that happened. Yet, in the next morning’s newspaper, it sound like he’d ravished her on the public thoroughfare. He called in to check on her and she was doing well, but recognizing she’d been ruined, he asked for her hand in marriage. It was no burden as she was the most beautiful woman he’d ever seen. By the next day the newspaper was publishing that the precipitous wedding was because there was an addition to their family on the way. Could it have anything to do with the woman from her past that she had seen the morning she fell? The woman who was supposed to be dead?

This was an intriguing storyline that was well-thought-out as well as interesting and different. How a duke and his wife thought they could pull off a swindle like this was beyond the pale. Charles refused to let it go and he involved his friend, Freddie in the investigation, as well. Freddie was a very likable ne’er-do-well who eschewed the idea of marriage for himself but was very happy for his friend. And, of course, Georgiana had many and varied family members to assist with the investigation. She was the most innocent creature alive and no one could understand what was happening. Charles and Georgiana’s marriage was starting off very well and he was more in love than ever. Entertaining characters and a good plot spell success for this noteworthy novel.

It all starts with Georgiana's distraction recognizing a beautiful ghost. Falling, she is rescued by Charles, Viscount Churston. Vicious lies, his proposal and marriage. It's love at first sight, but there's a murder to solve connected with the beautiful ghost and slander. A fast paced romance with a couple who work well together to solve a mystery and expose the murderers by the process of elimination.
Some heat in the bedroom and carriage.

One has to wonder whether Miss Georgiana Beresford was at the wrong place at the wrong time or the right place at the right time. What became a mystery and crime to be solved was also the best day of Georgiana's life because that is the day when Viscount Churston came to her rescue. Espying a lady she thought dead, results in Georgiana being disparaged in a daily newspaper, but it doesn't stop there. Her marriage to Charles does not stop the tongues from wagging and if anything, the slur on her reputation takes on a new turn. Together Charles and Georgiana hunt down the truth and it is far worse than they could have envisaged. However, it does lead to a romance that is heartwarming and tender as the newlywed couple finds in each other the missing passion in their lives. Despite the horror of what they discover, the novel does come to a beautiful conclusion with a resolution to their problems. I received a copy of this novel as a gift through Dragonblad Publishing and NetGalley and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Miss Georgiana Beresford has seen a ghost, a woman who "died" in a fire years ago. Little does our heroine know but that sighting will bring her the happiest day of her life but also put her in mortal danger.

Charles, Viscount Churston can hardly believe his luck when he is able to rescue the most beautiful woman he's ever seen. There is nothing our hero won't do to protect the woman he loves.

This historical romance has lead characters that are so sweet they made my teeth ache. They can't stop thinking or saying how wonderful the other one is. Apart from that, the storyline is really interesting and full of mystery. It is part of a series but except for the family members who appear briefly, its a totally separate story. A strange adventure.

Good fun.

Being a bit clumsy really paid off on this story, well, the romance part at least.

This is a love at first sight romance, when Georgiana ends up tripping when she thought she saw a ghost. Good thing Charles was there to carry her home. The unfortunate part was the newspaper articles threatening to destroy her reputation, and of course that mysterious ghost from her past.

I liked the bit of a mystery part the most in the book, but the romance part frustrated me. I get the whole love at first sight part, but man did Charles hold back way too much at the beginning. It made him seem to be a bit of a coward, quick proposal, but slow romance afterwards. Maybe I just wanted more flames and passion.

Georgiana Beresford intends to take a short trip to see a friend. She is distracted when she spots a woman she thought was dead and falls in the street injuring her foot. Charles, Viscount Churston, comes to her rescue and carries her home. When a gossip rag smears Georgiana’s name over the incident, they marry. It wasn’t a hardship; they fell in love at first sight. The gossip doesn’t stop after they marry. What’s worse is some apparently wants to harm Georgiana. What is going on? This is an interesting story with great characters, many of whom are familiar, an instalove romance, a dangerous mystery, and a surprising ending. A nice addition to the series.

There is an easiness to the romance, sparked by a love at first rescue and a deep instinctual attraction. A tale with the core element of a knight rescuing his damsel in distress, really added to the fairytale quality it evoked and produced a really engaging tale with two likeable leads, so easy to adore. All coming together to make this a cute addition to a great series with characters you just love to be around! I totally recommended this book, it is perfect for escaping reality for a little while and feeling like living a historical romance.

A very easygoing story about Georgiana and Charles. Georgiana spots a woman who she believed to be deceased, so she tries to hurry after the woman who quickly gets away. She falls and gets injured, but luckily Charles scoops her up and brings her home. After that, her good name is trashed in the newspaper so Charles surprises himself by impulsively proposing marriage, and they start searching for the one who is disparaging Georgiana‘s reputation. Of course it’s the woman who was presumed dead. No real surprises in the book, very easygoing and a quick read.

I'm not a fan of the insta-love trope and this book had it in spades. Charles, Viscount Churston, assists the beautiful Georgiana Beresford when she takes a tumble in the street. What made Georgiana fall in the first place was a woman from her past. A woman who was supposed to be dead. When vile things begin to appear in one of the gossip sheets about Charles doing more than helping Georgianna home after her fall, he does the most honorable thing and proposes.

As Charles and Georgiana try to unravel the mystery of the dead woman, they have no idea they are being thrown into more peril with each person they talk to about the situation. The story moves along quickly and soon Georgianna is in more peril than from just the gossip sheet. Enter the knight in shining armor, Charles, doing whatever was necessary to save his wife from harm. The addition of Freddie as Charles's best friend added a little levity to the point, but not much.

This is a short and quick read and I would have liked to see the author have Charles and Georgiana's love story play out over a bit more time. The whole 'love at first sight' trope is annoying at best.

A hint of scandal cloaks 'love at first sight' romance!

A surprising encounter with the beautiful ghost of her late pianoforte instructor, Mrs. Powell, sees Charles heroically rescue Georgiana, in more ways that one after a heredious fall. Can their meet be a sweet hand from destiny herself or a road thwarted by perilous ruin? As a spot of mystery unfolds and entangles them both in a forced investigation to find the source of malicious articles designed to irredeemably blacken her name. In this fun, quick read that leaves you smiling.
There is an easiness to the romance, sparked by a love at first rescue and a deep instinctual attraction, which connects them from the first that willingly obliges them to marry with all haste and instantly draws them to your side.
Where the sweet platitudes, odes to her beauty and sugary endearments might of perhaps been a bit over done, I thoroughly enjoyed the journey that unravelled. A tale with the core element of a knight rescuing his damsel in distress, really added to the fairytale esque quality it evoked and produced a really engaging tale with two likeable leads, so easy to adore. Adding a witty thread that rings with heartwarming humour and effortless charm from the start. With a dose of sweet anguish laced with a 'will they, won't they' declare their ardent feelings, for fear of it being too soon for the other to reciprocate, with a closeness that sucks you in and carries you happily and swiftly through a risky clue seeking adventure injected with a cosy romance.
With a whole host of subcharacters that radiate warmth, the devotion of family and the loyalty of friendship. One of my favourites being in the lovable, daftness of charmingly well meaning, Freddie, who I'd love to see get a story of his own.
All coming together to make this a cute addition to a great series with characters you just love to be around!

Miss Georgiana Beresford has just reurned to town & is walking to her cousins when she catches a glimpse of a woman she thought was dead. She whips around, which results in her falling into the muddy street and injuring herself. To her mortification, an exceedingly handsome man whisks her into his arms and insists on carrying her home. Charles, Viscount Churston, had not been able to remove his eyes from the beautiful woman he was only too happy to assist. He delivers her home and learns she’s a Beresford, the sister of an Eton friend. When he calls to check on her the next day, Charles learns that his misguided act of chivalry has been reported upon in a scandal rag thus ruining her name. There’s only one honourable thing to do. He must offer her marriage.
The fifth book in this delightful series & it’s easily read on its own but the Beresford family are adventurous & charming. I really liked both Charles & Georgiana who unbeknown to each other have fallen in love & it takes some time for them to voice their feelings. There is the mystery of who is trying to ruin Georgiana’s name & is the ghost from her past real or a doppelganger. A fairly quick read which I read in a sitting & thoroughly enjoyed it
My review is for a special copy I voluntarily read

Georgiana Beresford is the very pretty daughter of a wealthy second son. Walking from her sister’s house to her cousin’s, she thinks she spots a ghost from her past. Wanting to get closer to the lady, she stumbles and falls into a busy London street. A handsome Viscount, Charles Churston, rescues her and carries her home.
When the next day nasty gossip harming her reputation is printed in a scandal sheet, he offers for her hand and she accepts. When the gossip continues, they set out on a quest to discover its source with help from his best friend and her extended family.

📚 This was a sweet and sappy romance with a certain fairytale quality. He’s the knight in shining armour protecting his princes in distress, and the evil queen is - of course - gorgeous but deadly. The couple is very much in love from the start and rather lovey dovey. It was all a bit too sugary sticky for me, but a nice story nonetheless.
📚 Love at first sight, fade to black, detective road trip, kidnapping, murder, blast from the past

***This is my honest review after reading an ARC of Vindicated by a Viscount***

I really enjoy a good regency romance that has *spice*, however I find it hard to find ones that are well written. Unfortunately, this book didn't hit the mark for me. I found it repetitive and poorly written. I did however like the idea of the story and the characters involved. I also can't stand the miscommunication trope which is what felt like was happening at points in this book. If you like the Bridgerton book series then chances are you might like this.
I wish I liked it more.
