Manner of Death, the latest novel by Robin Cook, continues the everyday events in the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) of the City of New York. All of the familiar characters are present including Laurie Montgomery and Jack Stapleton. The plot concerns an NYU pathology resident assigned to the OCME for his 30 rotation and deals with topics such as suicide, homicides staged to look like suicides and the greed involved in the medical profession with respect to performing unnecessary procedures solely for the fees involved. The story is fast paced, compelling reading which this reader could not put down.
I wholeheartedly recommend this book to all who enjoy this genre and thank NetGalley and G.P. Putnam’s Sons for the opportunity to read and review this novel prior to publication.

This was a good book. I wasn’t absolutely blown away, but overall it was good. I thought the ending was a tad rushed, but definitely a good book. I just reviewed Manner of Death by Robin Cook. #MannerofDeath #NetGalley

I was given this book by NetGalley for an honest review-
I love medical mysteries and Robin Cook did it again with Manner of Death.
Laurie, chief Medical Examiner wants to interest Ryan a pathology student to an autopsy- which he doesn’t care.for..
Because there have been deaths called suicides that could have been murders Ryan asks to investigate these instead of his tour of autopsies. But when Ryan is found dead Laurie decides to get to the bottom of this dangerous situation and she sure does find a dangerous situation! Why are people murdered but made to look like suicide ? A must read!

Manner of Death is book fourteen in the Jack Stapleton and Laurie Montgomery series. I am in the medical field and whenever an author combines thriller with medical topics it becomes an automatic read for me. I haven't read any other books by Cook including any previous books in this series. I do not think it is necessary to have read any of the others, although after reading this book I have added the others to my TBR list.

I've always been fascinated by forensics and autopsies. This book delves into some of the details and technicalities of it without reading like a textbook. I enjoyed reading and learning more about the topic as well as waiting for the mystery to unravel. I would classify this more in the mystery rather than thriller category. Definitely recommend for those who like a good medical mystery/thriller! Please check for trigger warnings before reading as it is heavy on the suicide topic.

Thanks to Netgalley and PENGUIN GROUP Putnam, G.P. Putnam's Sons for a digital ARC in exchange for my review.

Manner of Death by Robin Cook In the fourth of the series featuring Medical examinters, Jack Stapleton and Laurie Montgomery, Dr Cook explores cancer screening and testing, depression, suicide, and staged homicides. The story is fast paced with the investigative work done by Dr Ryan Sullivan who finds similarities between several recent suicide cases. While the ending appeared to be rushed, all loose ends were resolved. Interesting and entertaining read.
Thank you to the author, Robin Cook; publisher, G.P. Putnam's Sons;, and Netgalley for the opportunity to preview the book.

Good book! It did kind of take a minute to get there but when it got going it was such a great read! This book had a bit of everything! It had suspense, intrigue, murder, mystery, A sort of who done it, and some really crazy twists and turns! The storyline was so very interesting and kept me glued to my Kindle! I definitely recommend reading this book as it was well worth reading! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!
