Short and sweet and a perfect palate cleanser between darker/intense reads. I do wish it were longer and had a little more plot, but I guess that defeats the purpose of it being a small novelette. It does have the beginnings of a great story though, if that path were to be explored in the future.

- smutty fae adventure
- insta love
- 80% yummy smut
- easy, quick read

A really fun, super quick, spicy read.
Like most of my reads, the cover caught my attention first and I was intrigued. Another thing that drew me to this book is that it was a very short read. I really enjoy sliding quick reads between series, or books that are on the longer side. The Springfest Sprint caught my attention from the beginning and kept me entertained throughout. The best part of novellas is that you don't get pages and pages of world building. The best parts are right in your face with no fluff. There is a sneak into another couple at the end, so I look forward to reading their relationship once it is released as well as other books/novellas by this author.
My review can also be found on goodreads as well as other social media platforms.
Releases June 23rd, 2023.

Well that was unexpectedly so fun to read! I enjoyed how this played out and even for a short read there was great detail and not to mention a few smexy scenes that were quite enjoyable to read. I could definitely read this as a full novel with a couple hundred more pages.

Short and sweet - the story brings you right into the world and immediately introduces the main character and her plight in a way that will catch your interest. The book is not shy about the romance and the touch of politics leaves you hoping for more to come in universe to flesh out what the author has created.

Thanks to NetGalley for providing me with an arc in exchange for an honest review.

I must say, I'm quite impressed. The book hooked me immediately with an intriguing blurb, and it turned out to be an interesting read. The characters were endearing and a bit sassy, and I loved how well the world-building was done.

The main characters, Ember, Ty and Donovan, were very interesting, and the dynamic between Ember and Ty was particularly enjoyable.

While there were moments when the story felt a bit rushed, the overall pace was cleverly handled, keeping me entertained until the very end. It's so remarkable how the author managed to pack so much into such a short novella.

All in all, I'm now a fan of the author's work and eagerly anticipate future releases set in this captivating world."

Oh, My Goodness! I loved this quick, fun and spicy fairy fantasy. This was my first dark fairy romance novel, and it won't be my last! I really enjoyed it. It was quick but the story has just the right amount of character development and spice to keep you entertained. My only complaint is I needed more story!

I was completely drawn in from start to finish. and that cover art!!! so pretty! I am hoping to see more from this author!

Overall, great quick read! I would recommend :)

This was short, sweet and spicy!

I loved this little fantasy book and
I loved the FMC, she was fierce fae and you can’t help but fall in love with her & take no rubbish attitude she rocks!

The story pans over one day/ event with a cheeky months later epilogue. All of the characters were intriguing and I look forward to book 2, to see how the side characters develop in their own story.
This story is spicy but also sweet and a nice feel good fantasy.

Tropes:
True Mates
Rival species
Touch her & die
Sassy FMC
Multiple POV
Primal play- hunting

Would recommend!

This was a spicy little fantasy novelette that was quite enjoyable for what it was. In it, we follow Ember, the princess of the Spring Seelie court as she is forced to participate in a mating ritual that she has no interest in. Instead of giving in to the Springfest Sprint, Ember has other plans up her sleeve, plans that are foiled when she stumbles upon an unexpectedly sexy unseelie.

Fun spice and and interesting concept although admittedly, I would have loved for this to have been elongated into a full novel and for the story, world and characters to have been fleshed out a little more. Monroe clearly has a full concept of her world planned out but in its current format, readers are dropped into the middle of an unexplained world and hierarchy which is both a tad bit confusing and a little frustrating since it forces the entire story to be crunched into a quick instalove tale.

Overall, this was a fun 4/5 star read for me and I would absolutely love to see longer works from Monroe in the future.

I really enjoyed this novelette. I usually find that "spicy romantasy" can feel rushed and poorly written, but that was not the case at all here. Ember is a fierce and stubborn female protagonist that we love from the get-go. Ty is mysterious and protective, which I love in an MMC. Although there are aspects of "insta-love" in this story, it is completely compelling and believable given the magic system. The banter between the two love interests is hot and witty. I felt immersed in their love affair.

What I loved the most was the attention to fae lore. Rarely do I find "faerie smut" that even acknowledges the Seelie and Unseelie, let alone to this detail. I loved that the liar's curse was mentioned throughout. This book is enjoyable for Fae enthusiasts and newcomers alike.

I only have two small issues with this novelette. First, the beginning goes quickly through exposition. I would love to see the world built up and fleshed out more organically (although, considering this was less than 90 pages, it was still done very well). Second, I just want more from this world and this couple! Forget Rhysand and Feyre, I would love to read an entire series set in this world. Georgie Monroe, whenever you release a novel, I will be first in line to read it!

I wasn't really sure how I would like this given it's a shorter story. Often I feel like they leave a lot to be desired. I am so glad I did not pass this one up.

Georgie Monroe does a wonderful job of creating a short, fun story. She was able to bundle together an interesting plot, some fun banter, and some spicy spice spice all in this quick read.

It has insta-love, but with the world it's set in, it makes sense.

This is such a fun read, and perfect if you you need a light hearted pallet cleanser.

The cover drew me to the book like a moth to a flame and I was not disappointed. Fairies, magic, and a hot naked stranger in a pool of water? Yes please.

For a short novella I felt the author did a wonderful job of giving us a decent amount of world building that didn’t take away from the fast pace of the story. If anything it left me wanting more, I could have easily read another 100 pages of Ty and Ember’s story.

I did feel that the polyamorous aspect of the book was slightly un-needed. If the story was longer there would have been more time to get to know the secondary characters, instead it left me wanting more between Ty and Ember. There were also some points through the story I got slightly confused and couldn’t quite figure out what was happening. This otherwise would have been a 5 star read for me.

Overall this was a fun spicy pallet cleanser that I would go back to read again.

Fae fun and games, well maybe not fun for all, and who exactly are the good versus the bad? Quick and steamy read with a lot of snark and just a fun read. Can't wait for more.

This was a quick spicy read that had me guessing where it was going to go at first and then falling in love with Ty and his culture despite what Em’s preconceived notions were. The world building was very solid, honestly I did not expect it to be such a great world from a short erotica, but sometimes it felt more like telling us than naturally showing which is why I would give this 4.5 out of 5 stars if that was an option. Overall a great smutty read and would definitely read more from this author.

This was such a nice and fun little read. I really liked Em & Ty ! They both seemed fun and interesting and fit well together. I also absolutely loved that they were both queer and interested in a non-traditional relationship. All in all a fast and fun smutty novella. Can recommend this to anyone that likes fae, queer MCs, hunting games, and smut!

I really enjoyed this beginning to the Faetales Novelette series, it had a great concept overall. I enjoyed the use of fae and thought this had a great fantasy feel to it. The characters were what I was hoping for and glad I got to read this. I look forward to read more in this series.

All she wants is a guy who asks her if she wants to be theirs and whose mouth doesn’t drip saliva all over her face—is that really too much to ask for?!

Spring fest sprint is for those who have come of age and haven’t chosen their mates yet.
8 hunters 10 hunted
Good odds!
However, given she’s a princess, multiple of the ‘hunters’ are hunting her. While hiding, she stumbles across a dark fae, and they work together to get her where she needs to be.
AHEM, I mean… find what makes her happy? Which is really all she wants, a happily ever after.
Worth noting she’s in a culture where she is being chased for the right to claim her, willing or not, however the male lead takes consent very seriously!

Overall, this is a short, fun read!

Let’s start off with the obvious. That cover! Ugh probably one of my all time favorite covers. I love anything Fae and this cover doesn’t disappoint.

Tradition can really put a damper on wanderlust. Ember has come of seelie age, however, the spirited heir of the Spring Fae Court hasn't chosen a mate yet. Per the court's ancient custom, it's time for her to run the Springfest Sprint! The males are ready to claim their mates, and many have their sights on the elusive princess. But she's got a plan... Hide until this nonsense is over. It's not foolproof or typical of the feisty fae, but it's better than getting bound to a terrible kisser, a pompous bragger, or really... anyone. When she runs into a male who ruins her hiding spot, she has to decide if he's an enemy or ally.
Anyone who knows me knows how much I love strong female characters with a wit that leaves you whiplashed. Ember for sure is a character like that who just wants to control her own destiny. I think we all can relate. And oh Typhon is for sure a hot as sin character that makes me want to hang out with the unseelie. And their interactions for sure know how to steam up a room.
For sure a short naughty book but for sure interested in seeing how this world unfurls.

The aspect that I liked the most in this novella was the connection with nature and how the faeries had elemental magic. Even the shorts made of leaves was charming.
The sprint/games I found very interesting and entertaining. Particularly, how much everyone was invested in the sprint for good or twisted reasons. And I liked how the race ended for Ember.
Additionally I liked the contrast in the characteristics of the two main characters, like their wings, and their juxtaposition.
Everything felt too intense and meaningful at first, and then I remember that they don’t know each other at all. So that kind of made the story fall apart a little bit.
Also I would’ve like some warning for polyamorous since it’s not my cup of tea but I'm letting it slide this once since over all I liked the story.

ARC Rating 5/5 ⭐️

Omg, I loved this one... obsessed 🥵

The story follows Ember, who has to run the Springfest Sprint and she hasn't chosen a mate yet. While she is trying to hide out during the hunt, she meets Ty... and sparks fly ✨️

This romance fantasy novella was short, hot and spicy 🌶 I really enjoyed this story, and felt the world building, writing style and story were really good.

I read this story in one sitting and will read any sequels in the future. Highly recommended!

This was a fun read! There were chapters in the beginning that fell victim to some info dumping. Fantasy novels have a lot of world-building to do in general and it’s more difficult to build a believable narrative in a novella. I think the author still did a good job of setting the scene and getting into the action once you got past the first couple chapters. The MCs were likable but I was left wondering if they were likable because they were surrounded by such massive jerks in the middle of a barbaric ritual. But the story was fun so I didn’t think about it too hard.

If you’re in the mood for a quick, spicy read, this should be right up your alley. There are some foreshadow-y hints throughout the story at some larger plots which could set the author up nicely for a more expanded series. There’s a lot of potential here and I look forward to reading the next one!
