Another miss for me. I made it about 40% but still couldn't get into it despite the different point of views and short chapters. It's a bummer.

When Meg learns that her estranged sister, Haley, has taken her own life at an elite upscale rehab facility, she can't believe it. Her selfish, narcissitic sister would never do that. To figure out what really happened, Meg checks in to the clinic as a patient herself. What she doesn't know is just how many secrets are behind these walls and just how far everyone in there will go to keep them.
While parts of this story were a little unbelievable at times, especially some of the medical aspects, I enjoyed it overall. If you're a fan of suspense and unexpected twists, I think you will too.
Thanks to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Landmark for my advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

This book really just took me for a ride. I loved the build up, the character development, and the writing. I would definitely read more from this author!

Between a 3 and 3.5 ⭐️ - slow at some parts, but did have a couple of plot twists I didn’t see coming! I genuinely did not know where the book was heading, which I enjoyed! I thought the idea was unique, and liked the setting inside the clinic. All in all, I would recommend to thriller fans!

I read and enjoyed Black Widows by Cate Quinn the year it came out so I was looking forward to trying another book by this author. This one sounded like something I would have loved but unfortunately it fell a little flat for me. More often than not I found myself a little bored and hoping the book would get over faster. There were a few moments that gave me some good Girl, Interrupted vibes with an added thriller aspect but those moments weren't as often as I had hoped for.

Thank you to NetGalley for the chance to read an early copy of this book. Book was fine, not the best I've read but it was entertaining enough.

This story of woman looking for answers to what happened to her big sister had a great premise. I think it was a bit drawn out in the middle section in the way that some “unreliable narrator-ish” thrillers can be. That being said, the multiple points of view worked really well to tell the story from a few different angles and the end had one nice surprise to wrap things up. I enjoyed the book and would read more from this author.

This is one of those books that I really wanted to love. It started off great, and I was hooked from the very beginning, but towards the middle things started to go off the rails - and not in a good way. I was like an entirely different book was shaping right before my eyes. Then somehow, we are brought back on topic for the last 30ish percent of the book for a twist(?) that was surprising yet illogical.
I feel like if the book was shorter, and more streamline ie. stuck to the main plot, this could have been a much better read.
Thank you #NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book. All opinions expresses are my own.

I missed my NetGalley review window but I read it and still have the opportunity to share my thoughts so here goes! I thought this was a fascinating concept that lost steam in execution, but is worth reading for the atmosphere if you're in the mood.

I liked The Clinic and appreciated that it was a departure from what I've recently been reading. Instead of an action-packed thriller, the book was more of a whodunit style mystery. Told in two perspective, Meg, a patient who is undercover as a way to find out what really happened to her sister and Cara, a new manager working at the clinic. There were a lot of cliches in the book, especially when it came to the addicts and the police, but the mystery aspect was solid. 3.5 stars.

This one started really strong for me, but really ended up losing its momentum. It was just an okay read...not super memorable.
I will check out future books from this author, because I think there is potential for me to love!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for access to this ARC! Yesss I loved this book. I want the psychical copy also

I couldn't put down The Clinic. I will highly recommend this title to my audience and look forward to reading more by Cate Quinn.

The Clinic was so interesting. Some new and unique and I enjoyed it. I enjoyed the beginning but struggled towards the end which I expected to be reversed. Overall not a bad read

Thank you to Sourcebooks Landmark for my advanced reading copy!
This was a thriller that definitely went off the rails very quickly. Meg infiltrates a clinic where her sister supposedly committed suicide, which she doesn't believe. This started off strong but quickly lost me. As a nurse, a lot of the medical aspects didn't make sense and was very outlandish, especially at the end. Everything felt disjointed within the walls of the clinic, which I understand is the point but it was too much in my opinion.

This one took a long time to get anywhere really. It started strong and about midway, I just lost all interest.

For starters, this was my very first Cate Quinn, and it will not be my last! I ended up listening to a finished audiobook for this, and it was phenomenally done - the different perspectives were well highlighted in production and it was easy to follow which is sometimes not the case. Second, holy buckets I did *not* see that coming - there is so much going on and so many morally and ethically grey areas that it kept me interested, and kept me guessing, right until the very end. Super super enjoyed this!

I flew through this (thank you for short chapters!!) and it was sooo good! I loved the aspects on addiction and mental health and thought it was very realistic.

The Clinic follows Meg after she learns of her sister’s mysterious death in a rehab clinic and decides to infiltrate the clinic to try and figure out what really happened.
This book was such a fun and wild ride. It took me about 100-150 pages to really get into it, but once I got to that point, I was hooked. It follows two perspectives: Meg, the sister who is a patient at the rehab clinic, and one of the staff members who does mostly desk work.
I really liked the inclusion of possible insurance scams, and fraud by the practice. And I also liked the discussion on how society treats those who have addictions. There was a lot of insightful things that were brought up and really made me question how we view drug addiction.
I also listened to this on audiobook and there were two narrators for the two different POVs. And I felt like both did such a good job in adding the emotion, but especially Meg’s narrator.
Overall, I found this to be a really interesting read, but with a slow build. I think this would be good for fans of Smile, Get Out, and A Cure For Wellness.

Overall, it felt very disjointed with so many sub plots and characters left dangling. A frustrating read.
I am definitely an outlier as this book is receiving very positive reviews. So be sure to read all the four and five star reviews before making a decision.
