Loved this Read it in one great gulp of a sitting it was massively addictive and really well done.

Twists and turns and intriguing characters, I loved the way it went back and forth on its way to an unpredictable finale with a surprise or two along the way.

Very involving and clever. One of the better psychological thrillers I've read lately on readability factor. Recommended.

I didn’t realise this book was part of a series so can definitely be read as a stand-alone too. An interesting who done it type novel, which when you think you’ve got it all sussed, it twists and turns again. Really easy read!

3 tweens sneek out to go to a party at Turtle Lake, only 2 girls return home. When the body turns up the other two friends admit to murdering her. The story is told through 3 time lines (before the murder, after the murder and now 20 years on......

Its best to go in blind on this one, it took me a little while to get into it. Whilst it didnt captivate me as Truly Darkly deeply did it was still an enjoyable read

I didn't realise this was part of a series and it was number 9! However it was really enjoyable and a good thriller!

Having read ‘Truly, Darkly, Deeply’ and really enjoyed it, I was looking forward to this book and it did not disappoint. Three teenagers attend a party at Turtle Lake and only two return. The book follows a couple of timelines providing back story and largely focuses on Finn, the elder sister of one of the girls. It is quote dark in places without going into spoilers. Relationships are a big part of the plot (family, friendship), the dynamics, manipulation and the toxicity that can also arise especially when situations are inappropriate.

There’s plenty of twists and turns, as the book developments and up until the end of book, you are still not sure who was actually the main instigator. A well written true crime-esque read, and well worth picking up a copy.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Quercus Books for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

4 stars.

This book was not my usual genre, but I enjoyed it. A little sad in places and the characters and circumstances are believable. A good read.

So… I don’t really know what to say about this book. Did it keep me on edge? Kind of. But I don’t think I got on with the writing style… and I found it really hard to gauge who was being spoken about. I also didn’t really like the chapter styles being before, after and now… it was hard to keep up with.

I was surprised by the twist so I will give it that and if you like this style of writing then you’d probably find this a great book. I would give 3⭐️ if I liked the style ☺️

Very slow paced book. Characters don't seem to develop and the story just doesn't seem to flow in my opinion. Not the best read and I struggled to actually complete reading it.

A strange book with some situations and characters that never come to any developed conclusion. One of the most important people in the plot, Ryder, remained a shadowy character whereas his role was key. Add to that the most unlikely scenario of what thirteen year old girls would be allowed to do and it sums up to be a rather juvenile read.

Classic twisty teen whodunnit. But nothing I’ve not read before. I felt like explanations were a bit light touch, too many threads left untied, barely explored the Ryder storyline which was possibly the most interesting. liked, but didn’t love it.

After a slow start and a little confusion I really got into this book, even getting up early to finish when I fell asleep!

I won’t go into too much of the synopsis as I don’t want to spoil the story. What I will say is the story is narrated by one of the sisters of a group of three girls who went to a party and only two returned home.

Fin tells the story in three parts; Before, After & Now. What happened at the party and who was to blame?

I went into this story blind so didn’t really know what to expect other than having read some great reviews.

I nearly gave up but I am so glad I didn’t, this was worth the perseverance and it certainly ‘got me’ with the twists!

I will be looking for more by this author!

Thank you to @netgally and @bookatoure for this arc.

A good thriller that mixes elements of true crime and mystery. An unreliable narrator, a story that not always makes you understand what is going on.
It kept me reading and I enjoyed it.
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher for this ARC, all opinions are mine

All The Little Liars is an incredibly readable thriller in the style of a true crime story mixed with plenty of suspense. What happened to the thirteen year old girl that went missing after sneaking off to a party with two of her friends?

The book is told in a dual timeline, which helps to build suspense and keep the reader guessing. We view events through the eyes of the younger sister of one of the girls as she recounts their time growing up in the period before and after the party, and how their lives changed forever. We also join her in the present day, as an adult. The case from years ago seems to be back on someone’s radar, and we slowly start to piece together what really happened…

I loved that this book has you thinking one way, until you click that things aren’t what your originally thought. The twists and surprises, some sudden and some a slow dawning of realisation, kept me gripped. I would recommend not reading too much about this one before you start, like I tried not to, as it was even more of a satisfying read.

The characters are well-developed and believable. Some are less than likeable but all of them add to the air of mystery – who can we trust, and who knows what really happened that night, other than the young girls who were there? I raced through this novel, and found it satisfyingly addictive, like the other great books I’ve read by this author. Definitely recommended!

Thank you to Netgalley for offering me the opportunity to read this ARC. This was a book which, at its heart, was a murder mystery - a young girl dies in California in 2003, everyone thinks they know who killed her, but it's clear as the story progresses that things aren't quite so simple as that.
The story is written from the perspective of a younger sister and initially it's not clear who she is the younger sister of, victim or murderer. There were elements of the way that the book was written, seemingly deliberately to obscure things like this that annoyed me a little. The narrator was also a bit annoying and not particularly likeable. Nonetheless this was a book that sucked me in and had some interesting twists towards the end.

This is a pacey twisty thriller. Finn now lives in London but has a secret about her past. Her sister Izzy and friends find themselves at a party as teenagers and one of them goes missing , secrets will need to come out or stay buried. The book flicks between then and now in Turtle Lake and England. When Elsa stone makes an appearance researching for a documentary- it drags everything back up for Finn but new information that comes to light isn't making sense of what she thinks she knows.

Favourite line 'Be careful who you trust, salt and sugar look the same'

I couldn't wait to finish and find out exactly what happened that night by the lake. A real page-turner.

I will be recommending to others and looking out for more from this author.

I really struggled with this book. I found the pacing to be really slow, and there were a lot of characters to keep track of. I didn't get on well with Selman's writing style at al.
Not for me.

All the Little Liars is a gripping dual timeline thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Victoria Selman is a talented author who knows how to create tension and suspense as well as intriguing characters. A 5 star read!

This is twisty thriller, told on dual timelines of then and now, littering breadcrumbs and twists making you want more and more. I would say this is possibly a YA aswell as a very good thriller based loosely on a true event.

Twenty years ago three best friends aged thirteen went to a party at turtle lake California and only two of them returned.

The story is told from the perspective of one of the girls sisters in both the then and now. I read this in one sitting as I found it hard to put down.

“It was a case that shocked the nation, rocked our town to its roots. Put it on the map for all the wrong reasons. As the details emerged, strangers hashed over the particulars … Shook their heads at the horror of it all. At the terrible tragedy.”

My thanks to Quercus Books for an eARC via NetGalley of ‘All the Little Liars’ by Victoria Selman.

The question posed by this taunt thriller is ‘what really happened at Turtle Lake?’

California, 2003. Three teenagers went to a party at Carlsbad's Turtle Lake but only two came back. At first the police believe that the thirteen-year-old girl had run away. Then on the trunk of a nearby cottonwood tree the word 'LIAR' is found graffitied in blood.

The story is told across two timelines. In the present twenty years have passed since the events at Turtle Lake though it is still fodder for True Crime enthusiasts. Kat (formerly Finn) Jackman had moved to London with her father at the end of 2003. Yet she is still haunted by the past. I won’t say more about the plot as this is definitely a novel best read ‘cold’ for maximum impact.

Interspersed between some chapters there are snippets of other media, including newspaper articles, news bulletins, and transcripts of chat rooms. Of course, in the 2003 sections technology such as SMS and the internet is still gaining in popularity. I can imagine that took some research in order to avoid anachronisms even though it was only 20 years ago.

‘All the Little Liars’ was one of those novels that once started I couldn’t bear to put down. I was impressed with how well Victoria Selman handled aspects of the plot. It certainly kept me guessing and overall proved a satisfying read.

Previous to this I had read two of Victoria Selman’s novels and found both intelligent, well crafted thrillers. ‘All the Little Liars’ now joins these others and I plan to read more of her back catalogue while waiting for her next novel.

A really interesting thriller, set across two timelines that span 20 years.
This is a very character led story and I thought the MC Finn (or Kat as she becomes) was a superb narrator.
The two timelines allow us to watch her unpicking the past to try and uncover the truths of what really happened to her sister. In doing so I found my sympathies flicking and changing along with what I thought I knew.
I really enjoyed the historical notes such as big news headlines or what was on the television or in the cinemas at the time. It was a great way to place the reader as well as draw a line between the then and now.

Some big twists that I didn't anticipate which I always enjoy in a book.

Altogether a really great read
