Thank you to NetGalley for sending me an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Warrior of the Wind by Suyi Davies Okungbowa was a wild ride and peak epic fantasy adventure. I consistently was on the edge of my seat, never knowing what the next page would bring. Because I was familiar with the characters and writing style, I enjoyed the sequel more than its predecessor.
This tale was endearing, thrilling, and heart wrenching. I felt like I was put through a roller coaster ride of emotions by the author which is a testament to how invested I became in the story.
Overall, I gave this book a four-star rating because it was beautifully written, fast-paced, and consistent with the tone and vibes set in book one. I would recommend this to anyone who loves high fantasies or for those who are interested in giving the genre a try, this is a good entry series.

Thank you, Suyi Davies Okungbowa and Orbit Books for making this free e-ARC available via NetGalley. aI signed up to read this because I loved the previous book in the series. It took me 6 days to finish it and more than half of that I read within 24 hours! It had the same attention to world building and character as the first book and the pace was lively. While I have missed seeing more from Danso (I have a soft spot for him), I liked how the character continues to change. In fact, I enjoyed all the various POVs and the smooth transitions between various plot threads.
There were 2 or 3 where expressions were used that felt more like they belong in our modern, current world, but other than those rare moments, I was well-immersed in the world of Oon, both in the politics and the interpersonal drama. I especially liked the expansion of the fauna and flora of Oon (magical and mundane) that added to the otherworldly atmosphere.
Overall, I had a great time reading this and am eager to read the next (last?) one. I do recommend it to other readers, but I think it deserves even more attention.

I requested a digital copy in order to sample the prose on my phone (since I don't have a eReader) before requesting a physical copy for review. My review will be based on the physical ARC I read (if I qualify)

Son of The Storm was such an excellent book and I was looking forward to the second in the series. It was just as action packed and lovely as the first The characters were easy to follow and honestly that made it a pretty quick read for me, I can't wait to see what else this author does!

Son of the Storm was an amazing story, and I have been looking forward to the release of book 2 ever since. Ecstatic to be given a copy.
It brings the same easy, beautiful writing and feels more polished, as it should, since it’s the second book and Okungbowa has more experience.
Thank you to NetGalley and Orbit for the ARC.

From city streets where secrets are bartered for gold to forests teeming with fabled beasts, Suyi Davies Okungbowa's sweeping epic of forgotten magic and violent conquests continues in this richly drawn fantasy inspired by the pre-colonial empires of West Africa.
I really enjoyed the first book in this series and this second book was just as good. I can't wait for book three.

Very action-packed and well-written. I loved every moment of the story and could not put it down. The characters are great, and the storyline is so well-done.

Action packed until the very end. Just what I need to get out of my reading slump. The imagery was chef’s kiss and you can’t go wrong with a little female rage.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This was a great sequel. I throughly enjoyed it and hope for more. This was action packed and intriguing.
