I enjoyed listening to this romance. However, I did have a problem with the weird fixation both of the characters had on her being a virgin. I understand that everyone likes different things, so I'm sure this book was someone's perfect cup of tea, but it wasn't for me. I did finish the book and I would read more books by Marni Mann in the future.

I have enjoyed all the books in this series but this one here takes the top spot! I completely fell in love with Camden. When they were younger, Camden knew he had feelings for his sister’s friend Oaklyn. But when Hannah makes Camden promise not to touch Oaklyn, he gives up any hope of anything happening. Then one drunken night leads to a proposition between Camden and Oaklyn.

There was so much tension and build up in their relationship! The years of mutual pining led to some serious hot scenes. The spice was off the charts hot even before they actually had sex. Oaklyn went from innocent virgin to a dirty girl really fast thanks to Camden’s coaching.

I was unfamiliar with the two narrators but Ramona Master did a good job of playing innocent Oakley and Walker Williams really brought ultimate bachelor Camden to life. It was an easy listen with narrators who truly brought out all the emotions of the story.

3.5 stars!

this is exactly what i expected it to be: more smut than plot. although a vague plotline was there, i wasn’t as interested in it and their development mainly because my expectations were low on that front.

camden’s whole alpha demeanor was expected but his sudden turn of love felt untrue to who his character was initially. i expected a little more fight that what was presented. oaklyn was a sweet character! their chemistry sexually was written great but without strong plotline, it didn’t bring the characters fully for a book that i’d reread/relisten to.

the narrators were great and i think were a bonus to me liking the book a lot more.

thank you netgalley and publisher for this arc in return for an honest review.

God I love this series so much and The Bachelor was no exception, from beginning to end I was engrossed I everything that was Oaklyn and Camden and their friends to lovers relationship.

We have the bad boy Camden who is know for being the ultimate bachelor, he is a ladies man and for a good reason, he is a successful lawyer who is sexy and has a dirty delicious mouth.

Oaklyn is been a good girl all her life and for the same reason she has waited years to find the right guy to give her virginity. With not such luck she strikes a deal with Camden, who is not only her best friend's twin brother but also the guy she is crushing since she was just a little girl. The Deal is simple, she wants him to teach her all the dirty things she's been craving and for him to take her virginity.

Their lessons become so much more and while Camden has never desire commitment or a relationship he knows is getting difficult to stay away from Oaklyn.

I love how their relationship progresses and how at the they were perfect for each other.

This book!!

So hot, so fun, and filled with all the good things a gal like me can love in a romance book! This entire book was so much fun to read and literally had me so hooked on it.

Trope: Best Friends Brother teaches inexperienced woman all the ways to please her husband, without falling hopelessly in love with her, which obviously goes completely wrong and it's a great ride the entire time.

Marni does a fantastic job with the characters and their story, and I couldn't put this book down! I'm completely obsessed with this story and can't wait to read more of Marni's books!

Thank you NetGalley for an eARC in exchange for an honest review!

The Bachelor by Marni Mann is a sizzling forbidden romance that left me captivated from start to finish. Oaklyn, a confident professional with one insecurity, and Camden, the ultimate bachelor, embark on a daring agreement that pushes the boundaries of their friendship. As the story unfolds, the chemistry between them intensifies, blurring the lines between student and teacher.

Mann's storytelling is exceptional, delivering a tantalizing slow burn that keeps readers hooked. The forbidden romance trope is skillfully executed, with Camden falling for Oaklyn first, adding layers of tension and anticipation. The playful banter and hardcore dirty talk between the characters create an irresistible dynamic that had me craving more.

Narrated by Romona Master and Walker Williams, the audiobook brings the story to life with their solid performances. While there are no standout moments, their voices complement the narrative, allowing listeners to fully immerse themselves in the enticing world of "The Bachelor."

In conclusion, The Bachelor is a delightful treat for fans of forbidden romances. Marni Mann's writing prowess combined with the captivating narration makes for an enjoyable and immersive experience. If you're in the mood for a steamy and engaging love story, look no further than The Bachelor.

First I would like to thank Dreamscape Media for providing me a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

I am always looking for new authors and I had been hearing about Marni Mann for a while online and thought this book would be a great opportunity to get a feel for her writing.

This is the story of Oaklyn and Camden, childhood friends, who make an agreement that if Oakland does not lose her virginity in a year then Camden would be the one to take it.

What I Loved:
- Dual POV, this audiobook had two amazing voice actors who did a great job at emulating the characters and I enjoyed then each had to voice the other's characters in their chapters
- Proposition, I loved that Oaklyn just went for it and propositioned Camden to take her virginity especially since she had a crush on him since they were kids
- Tropes, Best friend's (twin) brother, grumpy sunshine AND he's a cinnamon roll just for her....I mean COME ON who wouldn't love this book
- Lessons, Camden negotiated lessons before the final act and lets just say it was good reading ;)
- Spice, this had all kinds of spice throughout and it went along well with the overall story
- Series, This is book 5 in the Dalton Brothers series and I'm psyched that I have 4 other books in the world to devour

This was such an amazing audiobook, I was even that person on the plane staring off into space while I listened cause I couldn't STOP listening. Any romance readers out there that loves the best friend's brother trope, lots of spice, banter and just overall good story then you should absolutely pick this book up!

It's one very hot, very steamy story.

Camden is a lawyer. He loves what he does, he loves sleeping around, never being with the same woman twice.

His twin made it clear that her friends are off limits. But then her best friend, Oaklyn, wants to make a deal with him - if she doesn't love her virginity within a year, he will take it.

The year goes back and she texts him. She wants not only for him to be her first, but teach her how to be the best. So Camden comes up with 5 lessons, at first to push her away, but later to get closer to her.

As they experience more things together, the mad chemistry between them turns into something deeper. But there is still his sister to consider, and breaking her trust is not something either of them ever did or wanted to do.

It's a very steamy forbidden romance. The audiobook is great too. :)

The Bachelor by Marni Mann #5 in The Dalton Family Series

Narrated by Ramona Master and Walker Williams

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶🌶🌶

Dual POV
Billionaire
Sisters best friend
Best friends brother
Forbidden
Virgin
Grumpy/sunshine

I enjoyed this slow burn forbidden and hidden romance. I thought the storyline was interesting to follow with the renowned playboy giving his sisters best friend lessons in bedroom scenes. As with their close relationship they have a great chemistry! The spice was great and a dominant alpha Camden is a great pairing with sweet and sexy Oaklyn. I thought that the narrators did a great job giving the characters personality and life and I would recommend this to be listen to in audio for your listening enjoyment!

I was provided an audio copy of The Bachelor and this is my honest review.

This was a really good erotic romance. The scenes were just the right amount of spice for this type of book. The plot mostly moved the story along, which was fine by me. I enjoyed both narrators and thought it was produced well.

The virgin trope is not for me though.

Mann returns in all her storytelling glory with The Bachelor, the fifth and final standalone novel in The Dalton Family series. And ooh my, it’s the spiciest, smoochiest, and raunchiest romance I’ve read since I can’t remember when.

Everyone in the Dalton family is well aware of Camden’s reputation, and his twin sister, Hannah, made it clear to him years back that her girlfriends were forbidden fruit. Oops, this is where the fun begins! It just happens that Oaklyn, her BFF, is still crushing on her brother, and he thinks she’s more gorgeous than ever. However, disrespecting his sister’s wishes doesn’t come into the equation.

I loved this one! It's steamy as sin but very sweet and romantic too. These two have carried a torch for each other for ages and now they are getting to have "lust lessons" and to act on their desires. They're fire together but I wasn't expecting to get hit in the feels too! A wonderful, spicy time!

Narration: Ramona Master and Walker Williams did a great job bringing all the longing, the steam and the swoon! Keep your earbuds on, people! Don't listen in at work or you might get very distracted it happened to me a couple of times

3.5 ⭐️

This was definitely my favourite book in the series so far. This book follows Oakley and Camden. Oakley has been best friends with Camden's twin sister Hannah since they were little kids so it's a best friends brother romance. Oakley is still a virgin at 24 and tells Camden that in a year from now if she's still a virgin she wants him to be her first and basically teach her everything. A year goes by and she is still a virgin. Camden of course is worried that she's going to catch feelings but as in all books like this that is not exactly the problem.

I love a brother's best friend or best friends brother book as well as the sort of relationship/hook up teacher/student thing so having both in one book was right up my alley. I will say this book suffered the same plot issues I've found in the previous books in this series where there just really isn't any real conflict. It plays out exactly how you think it will which is a little disappointing. Overall, I enjoyed it for what it was. The audiobook narrators were also good.

The Bachelor is book #5 in The Dalton Family series. It's a billionaire/alpha-hole/siblings best friend story will all the feels. This is a messy, fun, unputdownable book. We get Camden (Hannah's twin brother) & Oaklyn (Hannah's bestie) with this one. It is action packed, has smoking hot chemistry and is full of banter. What a great read.

Romona Master and Walker Williams did a wonderful job portraying these characters.

I was really disappoint in this book. I liked Camden in the previous books in this series and I was very excited for this book. I am also a big fan of a virgin trope promise type romance. THis one just did not make sense at all. Oakley was sweet and deserved so much more. This book was a ride the ended in nothing but spice. This couple went from 0-100 with no proper character development whatsoever. I do not think this connection between the characters was more than just physical. I was very disappointed in this story. It is Erotica more than romance. It lacked swoon and character development. I don't even think these two are in a HFN situation.

Let's talk about the narrators. Ramona Master, Walker Williams these two were fantastic. Had their voices not entranced me I would have given up on this book. Their quality of narration and storytelling was fantastic. I would listen to the two of them over and over again. They truly saved this story.

This was a fantastically spicy Best Friend’s Brother romance. The premise—a woman tells her best friend’s brother to take her virginity in one year if she hasn’t met anyone—was surprisingly believable and then elevated when he offers to give her lessons. The chemistry between them was so well-written and omg the HEAT! I made the “mistake” of listening to this on my balcony and had to dash inside to grab some headphones! 😊 If you like it spicy and enjoy banter, you’ll love this!

This series from Marni Mann has been so fun, but "The Bachelor" kind of fell flat for me, and it very well could've been for the narration, or just that I didn't vibe with the main characters, or something else. But, I didn't feel the connection between Oaklyn and Camden. I think I wanted more tension? I struggled with the pivot their relationship took from sort-of friends to sex lessons with absolutely no feelings, to being in love and into a relationship. It didn't feel organic and let the back half of the story feel a bit all over the place.

I also just found Oaklyn extremely naive. Her audio narrator also had a pretty shrill voice, which led me to not care for her chapters very much either.

Overall, while this was not my favorite in the series, but I did enjoy watching Camden shift from playboy to man down bad - it was very sweet!

Thank you so much to Marni Mann & Dreamscape Media for the audio-ARC!

The Bachelor by Marni Mann is book 5 in the Dalton Brothers series, but can be read as a stand-alone without too much trouble. I have also reviewed book three, which happens to be about the twin of one of this book’s main characters, and I believe that enhanced my experience. This is the story of Camden Dalton, a new litigation associate at the Dalton Group, and Oaklyn Rose, who is his twin sister Hannah’s best friend. On a slightly drunken night, Oaklyn admits to Camden that she is still a virgin and makes a proposal that he take her virginity in one year’s time if she hasn’t dated someone that she trusted enough to take that step in the meantime. This is a grumpy sunshine, lessons in sexuality, sister’s forbidden best friend, secret childhood crush, virgin and the “player”, secret relationship romance novel I listened to this book as an audiobook and really enjoyed it much better than the previous book I listened to in this series. While “The Bachelor” was as much of a player as Declan in book three, he was not as much of a misogynist as Declan was prior to falling in love with Hannah. The narrators were great in their male and female POV roles with one exception. Having already been in Hannah’s head with book three, I couldn’t wrap my head around the way she was read, or perhaps written, by both narrators in this story. She seemed a little shallow and whiny and that doesn’t jive with the sharp lawyer with whom I am already familiar. That wasn’t enough to keep me from enjoying Camden and Oaklyn’s story. I recommend this book to lovers of contemporary romance novels with explicitly steamy chemistry and endorse listening to the novel on audiobook if you enjoy this method of injecting reading material. I am voluntarily submitting this honest review after listening to an advanced complementary copy of this audiobook thanks to the author, Valentine PR, Netgalley, and Dreamscape Media.

This is the first book that I have read by the author. I am glad that they can be stand alone. After reading/listening to this one I will be checking more of her books out. I loved the story. I enjoyed the HEA. It had just the right amount of spice. Sometimes the audio versions are hard to listen to but this one was great. The voices were good and I truly liked it. I love the build up of the characters but at times I felt it lingered a bit to much but not enough that it was off putting.

Thank you to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for this ALC!

4.25/5 *

Plot 4/5 | Characters 4/5 | Romance 2/5 | Spice 3.5/5 | writing 4.5/5 | Audiobook 5/5

Camden Dalton and Oaklyn's story seems like it is a long time coming. In true Marni Mann style, this book was steaming hot hot HOT!!! I have loved this series immensely so far, and these books are dependable for having great characters, spicy scene and clever banter. While I really did enjoy this book, and I did feel that my earbuds were going to melt off at several points during this narration, there were a few things that just didn't do it for me. I would have liked a little more angst, a little less polish to the characters and not as much innocence from Oaklyn. For a smart beautiful successful woman of 25, she was waaaaay too innocent and I found that extremely frustrating. You can still be a virgin and not be a saint, ya know!?! Camden also did a very quick 180 in a weird way. From "me-only-wanna-bang to mad-in-love in seemingly no time. But this is just me knit picking a book that is still very very good. It could be my inner mood reader taking over. Anyway, still overall, a great listen and if you haven't read/listened to a Marni Mann book yet, you need to get on that train!! The audiobook was phenomenal.

* I was lucky enough to receive an ARC and am leaving my honest opinion of this book. Thank you to Netgalley and the author!*

Wow okay I loved this book so much. I’m a sucker for a best friends brother and a Reformed playboy trope and this did not disappoint. Camden and Oaklyn were so good for each other and sheeeeshhh was it hot as ever. The spice was *chefs kiss*. The bachelor was the last in the series but the first book I read of Marni. I loved the characters from the other books I can’t wait to go read their stories! I’m especially excited for Macons story! Thank you NetGalley for the audio arc!!
