The Bachelor is the 5th and last instalment of the Dalton Family character series. Each book can be read as a standalone but knowing the other characters stories is always recommended. I love Marni Mann's writing style! There's enough of a story to follow, sweet romance and a TON of spice. Brother's best friend (forbidden), long time two-way crushing, MMC teaching FMC virgin are among the tropes you'll find in this book. The characters certainly had some unlikeable traits, but don't they all? If you're looking to heat up your summer TBR pile look no further than The Bachelor and the whole Dalton family series! The narrators did a good job, my only complaints were some strange pauses.

Thank you to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for this ALC!

This is the fifth and last book in The Dalton Family Series. This is a series of interconnected stories. Camden and Oaklyn's off limits romance is steamy, and engaging. I liked the flirt, and the sizzling chemistry. Camden is Hannah's twin brother (from the previous book The Intern), and Oaklyn is Hannah's best friend. This is a great twin sister's best friends romance. I liked the choice of narrators! Ramona Master and Walker Williams did an excellent job bringing this story to life. I enjoyed it. I like this series!

Camdem Dalton has known Oakley for ages. She's his twin sister's best friend. She's always been stunningly beautiful but completely off-limit: his twin, who knows him too well, made him, pinky swear when they were teens, that he'd never touch her friends. He's kept his promise. Now, at 25, he's even more dangerous. A shark in the courtroom and in the bedroom, he's one who Oakley should definitely stay away from. But... Oakley has decided that she's done being a virgin. And she makes Camden a proposition - if, in one year, her "condition" hasn't changed, she wants Camden to punch that card. He knows he should stay away, he promised, but it's only a proposition. A year away. It will never happen... Well, a year later he gets a text from Oakley and his life will become very very complicated.

I loved this one! It's steamy as sin but very sweet and romantic too. These two have carried a torch for each other for ages and now they are getting to have "lust lessons" and to act on their desires. They're fire together but I wasn't expecting to get hit in the feels too! A wonderful, spicy time!

Narration: Ramona Master and Walker Williams did a great job bringing all the longing, the steam and the swoon! Keep your earbuds on, people! Don't listen in the car or you might get very very distracted!

Thank you , NetGalley, Valentine PR and the author for the audiobook. All opinions are my own.

Twins Camden and Hannah don't have many rules between them. But rule #1 is that Camden cannot date any of Hannah's friends. Camden is almost as famous for his work in the bedroom as in the courtroom and Hannah refuses to let him break any of her friends' hearts. The only problem is that Camden has been crushing on Hannah's bestie Oaklyn since high school and she makes him an offer that's hard to refuse.

Oaklyn is a virgin and tired of no-good boyfriends who don't deserve to be her first. She wants her first time to be special and to know what she's doing. Enter Camden. Oaklyn convinces her BFF's brother to be her first and to show her how to be good at sex along the way.

This is #5 in the Dalton Brothers series but works beautifully as a standalone. I haven't read the other books in the series and I didn't feel lost or have trouble with character lines, etc. The plot line was fantastic and I give a huge kudos to Mann for stepping outside of the "traditional" romance story template. For real readers of romance, it's hard to find that perfect balance of a good story, good characters, and speedy spice. This book NAILS it. The book reads as a continuation of a lifelong friendship between Oaklyn and Camden and the heat is there from the beginning. They don't take long to get down to "brass tacks" and I am here for it.

The audiobook version of this story is altogether fantastic. The book is voiced by Ramona Master and Walker Williams and read with duel narration. Williams is perfect as Camden and his interpretation of Mann's writing is flawless. Master's portrayal of Oaklyn is great but when I was not a fan of her work with Hannah. Hannah is a lawyer, just like Camden, but when she talks to Oaklyn, her voice raises an octave and gives serious "Elle Woods" vibes. It was not my cup of tea (but maybe that's the way Mann wrote it?). Despite my irritation with Hannah's voice, this is an easy 5-star audiobook (and story) for me.

✨AUDIOBOOK REVIEW✨
Dual Narration

This book is about Oaklyn and Camden. Camden has had a crush on his sister’s best friend, Oaklyn, since they were 15 but his sister made him swear he’d never pursue Oaklyn so she wouldn’t lose her BFF.

But 10 years later when Oaklyn has a proposition for Camden to have him be her first, he takes her up on her deal, if only to try to convince her he’s too rough for her.

This book is LOADED with smut! And it’s well written and exciting. One issue I had was the author mixing up Voyeurism and Exhibitionism when describing one of the sexual fantasies Oaklyn wanted Camden to help her experience. And the major conflict was predictable but was quite satisfied with the mature was it was handled.

As for the narrators, I was nervous when I first started our. The male narrator used his raspy, sex voice the entire time and so then during the smut scenes, there was no differentiation. And the female narrator was fine, did a great job distinguishing between all the different voices she did. The only criticism I had was the length of her pauses between sentences.

The Bachelor is the first book I have read by Marni Mann. Unfortunately it will probably be my last. The story of Oakland’s quest to lose her virginity and Camden’s attempts to not fall for her is very sexy however the ploy is lacking in depth. The characters are fairly interesting however I don’t feel like I have gotten to really know who they are. Thus I did not feel engaged with them nor want to root for them. The narrators did a good job of presenting their characters but I wonder if it was the narration that took something away from the story.

Overall, if you are looking for a sexy, open door, romance than I am sure this one will fit the bill.

I am thankful to NetGalley and and Dreamscape Media for the opportunity to listen to this ALC.

Plot: 1
Writing: 1
World building: .5
Characters: .5
Themes: .5
3.5/5

Spice: 2.5/5

What you can expect:
- Best friend's brother
- Slow burn
- He teachers her

The plot was interesting, she wants to learn how to do spicy time things and asks her best friend's brother to teach her. He agrees and they come up with 5 lessons before he takes her V-card. This sucked me in right from the beginning. The lessons on her top 3 fantasies were fun and sooo angsty!

At some point though, there was this whole build up to him sleeping with her and it just felt too repetitive. We don't need to know every chapter that she's excited about losing her V-card.

I received an Advanced Listener Copy from NetGalley. Over-all I enjoyed it, the audiobook was dual narrated and well done. It made it a lot of fun getting into the story!

Thank you to Netgalley for the ALC, this is my honest review.

My god! I need to be bathed in holy water after listening to this. (In a good way.)

Oakley is best friends with Camden sisters. They have been best friends since they were very young. They are now out of college and into a working career life, and Oakley is still a virgin. After hearing many nights of Camden pleasing multiple women, she makes a pack with Camden that a year from now, if she is still a Virgin, she wants him to TEACH...TEACH her to how to be good in bed.

And my god, how he teaches her is just chef's kiss!! He gives her five tasks before they do the deed, and the angst build-up and pleasure we get before is just. 🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵

Since I listened to this via Audible, I really enjoyed Ramona Master and Walker Williams as the duo. I am a huge fan of Romana. She adds something extra special to make the audiobook so enjoyable.

Camden has been attracted to his twin sister's best friend, Oaklyn since they were teens. But Hannah made Camden swear he would never touch any of her friends. Now years later, Camden is a lawyer, and lives up to his player reputation. Oaklyn hasn't found the right man to give her virginity too. She does trust Camden though, and asks him to not only be her first, but to teach her everything he knows. This is a dream come true for Camden, except he is afraid to disappoint his sister. They agree to 5 secret lessons, and will walk away after that. They hadn't expected the explosive chemistry between them, making them want more. But keeping it a secret from the person they both love most is making it hard on them. If Hannah doesn't approve, are they strong enough to fight for each other, or will they walk away, breaking both their hearts? I fell so hard for Camden and Oaklyn, they were so perfect together! He was so swoony as he took care of Oaklyn, and also so deliciously dirty, and Oaklyn was a bit naïve, but wasn't afraid to go after what she wanted. I loved the different lessons and time they spent together, they were absolutely explosive together! I also loved the interactions with past characters making this even more fun.
This was my first listen to narrators Ramona Master, and Walker Williams, and I loved their performance! Their interpretations of each character was spot-on. Their voices were a joy to listen to as they easily brought out all the angst, eager anticipation, passion and love. I was completely captivated by this delightful, moving, and super hot and steamy romance!

This one was steeeeeaaaamy! Whew. I do love a good forbidden romance too, and this one fit the bill. I love how this built up to the finale too. Having the friend be upset with them felt kind of silly but I can see how it could happen. The heat of the book made up for it .

🌀Synopsis
Oaklyn is still a virgin and she’s determined to change it. She asks her friends brother to change that for her if, after a year, she still hasn’t found the right guy. In her heart, she’s ready for him to be the one but she’s not ready to let him know it.
Camden would love to take her virginity but also wants to respect her and teach her. So, his proposition to rebuttal her’s is to teach her how to be an unforgettable lover. 5 tasks. From orgasms in public to taking her to the very edge, he makes her unforgettable.
The problem is, she’s unforgettable to him and he doesn’t want anyone else near her. He needs to confess his feelings and find out how she feels.
When they both confess their feelings, they still have one hurdle. Camden’s sister and Oaklyn’s best friend.

ARC audiobook provided in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed the dual narration on this book! Since it takes place from two main characters points of views, it was nice having the back and forth dynamic between the male and female narrators. The story can be read as a standalone but is also part of a series. It was sexy and romantic without being too over the top and was very well written. I’m definitely going to check out some of the other books in the series!

2 Stars! Ugh. Okay. I almost had to stop listening to this book. This is book 5 in ‘The Dalton Family’ series and can be read as a standalone. This is the first book I’ve “read” as an audiobook and maybe it was the actor/actress voices that didn’t add up or a mix of that and the pretty unlikeable main characters. I think I might have liked this book a small bit better if I had actually read the book myself & not listened to it. I really wasn’t crazy about the voices of the audiobook.
The main character, Camden, is a douche who curses too much, drinks too much, and is an arrogant, pompous, “Richard”. I really disliked him and was completely turned off by his behavior. The other main character, Oaklyn, was annoyingly naive, always sounded breathless and seemed almost child-like at times. They definitely didn’t come off as being the same age.
The dirty talk was just too much and unnecessary, it felt forced, like he’s trying to be hot and sexy by using every filthy word he can think of. This book just came off as overly porn-like and not at all as a romance. Nothing developed throughout the book, no back and forth, no falling in love. Mostly just wham, bam, thank you ma’am - I’m in love, let’s live together!? What?! Who does a 180 like that, that fast, with practically no easing into it or developing feelings?
Not sure it was meant to be funny at times but every time they did the dirty talking and ‘sexy times’, it had me laughing and rolling my eyes at the ridiculousness of it. If a guy talked like that to me, I’d laugh in his face, unable to help myself! Ha! Seriously, don’t talk like Camden does to women, most of us find it vulgar and unappealing unless we’re in “the mood” and it’s done right. I honestly listened with half an ear and was online shopping too.

Story: 4 ⭐️
Steam: 5 🔥
Audio: 5 🎧

I really enjoying this whole series! This book was fun. The only compliant I have is that I wish Camden took longer to come around. He came around really quickly after being like “there is no way I’ll ever settle down!” And then after that the whole plot was hiding the relationship. Which is fine but it would have been nice for the tension to last longer.

Overall I love this family and enjoyed the whole series!

My first request of audiobook on NetGalley and also my first approved for audiobook on NetGalley by Dreamscape Media🥰🥰

I start this audiobook a week ago and finally I got to finish this today huhuuu🤧

THIS WAS SUCH A FUN EXPERIENCE TO HEAR SUCH A STEAMY BOOK😂😂😂 FUN TIMES YALL

The book itself is a typical sister’s-bestfriend story. I pause the audiobook around the time when everything was about to go down and continue straight away with 1.5x or 2x speed😂 and I can say that this is a good! I love that this has not so heart wrenching climax because IT WAS PERFECT that everything got cleared up very fast because I needed that after a stress week of oral exam🫠.

I love that Camden was so serious about his relationship with Oaklyn but kinda ick a bit because there’s a line when he compared her to ‘other girls’ he has been with before🙄

But anyway

I just love how Camden with Oaklyn

25 year old Oakland Rose makes a deal with her best friend’s brother, Camden Dalton. If she doesn’t lose her virginity in a year, he will take it. He agrees with the exception of them messing around first and if she doesn’t catch feelings, he’ll agree to her proposition. This is book 5 of 5 in the Dalton Family Series.

I received the audiobook for this but had to DNF it at 30% in. I don’t know if it was the narrators or if the content was cringy hearing it. It just didn’t seem like the story was coming out naturally from the narration. It was truly ruining the story for me to keep listening to it.

With that being said, I then went to reading it on my kindle and loved it!

The writing was great. The spice was excellent. I loved the friendship Oakland and Hannah had. Oakland and Camden’s chemistry was perfect.

It was sad to know this was the last book in the series 😢. Marni Mann did a great job wrapping up the stories of everyone else in the series. It was bitter sweet.

I’d like to thank NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the opportunity to listen to this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book was full of spice, some great moments, and some moments that made me laugh for the wrong reasons.

I listened to the audiobook and felt the female narrator did a phenomenal job. The male narrator was hit or miss for me, sometimes making the dialog sound more put of left field than it already was.

For the story, I absolutely loved the way Oaklynn's feelings were handled and the care Camden took in granting her ultimate request. Their spice and chemistry was phenomenal. However, some of their feelings seemed to come out of nowhere and I would have loved to see them fleshed out a bit more.

Overall, this book was quick read with some great spice and average storytelling

Tropes: Best friend's brother, virginity, rich boyfriend

Thank you to Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for the chance to receive this audiobook. The opinions are mine.

*Audio Review*

This is book 5 of The Dalton Family series, I have read the most recent 3 and love them all, these can be read as stand alone books, but knowing all the characters that pop in is nice. She truly brought the heat with this Bachelor and I ate it UP. I absolutely love Marni Mann's writing.

Hannah, is Camden's twin sister. Hannah makes a rule about Camden never crossing the line with her besties and this includes the girl he started taking notice of. Camden follows this rule as his number one promise to his sister until 10 years goes by and Oaklyn propositions him with an offer he just cannot walk away from. Oaklyn has always wanted Camden so can she keep this physical or will their hearts get the better of them ?

This was such a fun, quick & easy read (or listen). we LOVE a book without a third act breakup makes it so much more enjoyable. I appreciate they way Camden is written as well, in most books like this it is so typical for the man to avoid / fight the way he feels for the women but he owned that shit and I loved it. Oaklyn was such a nice, sweet girl. I love that she stood for what she wanted and that she didn't allow the conflict that could have occurred keep her from doing what she wanted & what she needed in life.

I highly recommend all of these books, but this would be a good standalone like I said, if you're looking for spice, best friends brother, forbidden romance vibes this is it for you!

I also think that the audio for this book was done really well. Loved it & they went well together!!

This was such a quick and easy read, with lots of steam and chemistry between Camden & Oaklyn. At first, I thought Camden is going to try hard to reject his feelings but he really surprised me. Oaklyn was a really nice girl who deserved the man whom she wanted to be worthy of her. The plot has less drama, is fast paced and will keep you hooked to find out whether Camden & Oaklyn get their HEA without any hurdles. So if you're looking for something hot and lighthearted, you should definitely pick this book up!

The bachelor by marni Mann published june2023 when Oakland decides that her best friends twin brother will be her first. The confirmed bachelor doesn’t know what he is agreeing to

I did not enjoy this
Not one bit.
I hated Camden,
He's a fucking shit.
Don't get me started
on Oakland's purity.
Being that naive
with internet?
An obscurity.

This really wasn't for me. The two MC's were awful and I could not get into the story as a result.
I had really enjoyed The Billionaire which is book 2 in this series (can all be read as stand alones), so I am hoping this is a one off.
Much love to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for letting me check it out.
