B.A. Paris slams it out of the park with another corker! In a market saturated with thrillers she has come up with an entirely original story that propelled me through the pages.
Unbelievably well-written with relatable characters, perfect plotting and an ending that was everything! I read this in one day resenting anyone who interrupted me.
Five stars ALL DAY!
Thank you to the publisher for gifting me a copy. It is my pleasure to write an honest review.

I have read a few B.A. Paris novels in the past and have found them to be just alright, so I was really excited to get an ARC for The Guest.
Once again though, I have to say she feel short on the delivery. The characters were kind of boring and the plot just lacked engagement. The story had be guessing and I was surprised with a few of the twists, but I felt the ending came too abruptly.
Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for my ARC.

The Guest was unexpected and crazy! I couldn’t stop reading this book. I would definitely NOT want to have or be a guest like this one. If you’re looking for a thriller with unexpected turns than this is the book for you.

Thanks for the ARC!
This book was amazing! So good!
The story flowed so well I couldn’t put it down. Definitely did not see the ending coming. Definitely 5 stars !

The Guest by B.A. Paris was just as good as I expected. When I tell you that I put all other books down to read this one as soon as I was able to is an understatement. This book had so many twists and turns that I had to finish the book in one sitting because I could not live with the suspense. Not only is there are mystery with the couple, Iris and Gabriel, and their unwanted guest, Laurie, we also have the added element of a new couple in town as well as a community death that is presently overshadowing the town. I love how it all ties together at the end and it was an ending I did not see coming. Overall very entertaining.

Another great book by B.A. Paris, The Guest was not nearly as dark as Behind Closed Doors which may be a good thing depending on the reader. I read quickly through this book not knowing who to trust and guessing "who dunnit". The Guest had great character development and gave you little bread crumbs as it moved quickly through the stories. I enjoyed the dual POV giving you different perspectives of the story. Highly recommend this book.

This was a typical B. A. Paris book for me - fun, fast…and far-fetched. She’s always a page-turner for me, and this was no exception. Finished the better part of it in a day. She’s my go-to author for a quick read to escape the real world.

Wonderful, suspenseful read. The first half of the novel moved a little slowly, but the rest was impossible to put down. The second half had one tragedy following another in quick succession with a believable resolution — that was until the epilogue. Shocking, satisfying ending.

My first ARC from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. I was really excited for another B.A. Paris novel. I loved Behind Closed Doors. This story hooked me but ultimately the ending was just too much for me. I was entertained and kept my interest but disappointed in how it all came together. The ending just didn't fit with the flow of the rest of the book. It took a sudden sharp turn that I didn't think was executed well. However, there will be people who love this.

Iris and Gabriel, after coming home from out of town, already recovering from a tragic event, find their friend, Laure, staying in their home unexpectedly.
Laure is having trouble in Paris with her husband, Pierre, and cannot make herself return home altering finding out of her husband's discretions.
Having been friends for years with the couple, Gabriel and Iris attempt to bridge the gap in their friends' marriage, with no avail.
Some great twists I did definitely not see coming. Only drawback, as I did not feel any sympathy for any of the characters throughout.

I really enjoyed The Guest. It’s my first BA Paris book that I’ve read. It was an easy read and I was never bored nor did it seem to drag on.
The main characters are Iris, Gabriel, and Laure, Iris and Gabriel are married and seem to be happy. Their friend Laure shows up at their house one day with bad news. As good friends would do, Iris and Gabriel show their friend their support.
Eventually secrets and lies are exposed and what I liked is that sometimes when they were exposed it was vague so I had questions or curiosities still. But then I would keep reading and eventually forgot the question I had or was curious about. But in the end it was all explained and with all the details I felt were missing.
This book had quite a few twists and I didn’t see them coming, which I always prefer. I was quite shocked.
I give this book ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars.
Thank you Net Galley for giving me access to this book and the others books I’ve had an opportunity to read.

This book features three main couples, Iris and Gabriel, Laure and Pierre and Esme and Hugh. Iris and Gabriel are best friends with Laure and Pierre and when marital trouble hits with Laure and Pierre, Iris and Gabriel find themselves front and center dealing with it alongside Laure. I was on the edge of my seat wondering who was behind the deaths in this book-and ohhh boy, are there unexpected deaths! I felt that this book was everything I’d come to expect from a B.A. Paris novel and I say that in the best of ways! I loved it!
Thank you to NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this ARC!

Iris and Gabriel's friend, Laure, unexpectedly arrives at their place to stay with them stating she needs time away from her husband. The four have been friends for almost twenty years and they shocked to hear the story that Laure has given as the reason.
There are many twists and turns in this thriller with the ending being the biggest.
I felt at times the story line drug and then in one paragraph time would elapse without explanation or sense. I would have to go back and reread for clarification.
Overall 3.5 🌟

Iris and Gabriel are happily married, living in a lovely home in Britain. One evening they come home to find that their good friend, Laure, has moved in. She and her husband, Pierre, are having issues in their marriage. Iris and Gabriel welcome Laure with open arms and support.
So many secrets in this book, but most were gradually revealed and I think that's what kept me engrossed. Laure is absolutely daft, talk about overstaying your welcome! In fact, everyone in this story was problematic, maybe I should have read more into that. This author usually has great pacing in her novels, and this was no exception. I found myself unable to put it down. The ending definitely was unexpected, and normally I love that, but I was annoyed, that's possibly my own issue, however. Maybe because I didn’t want it to be true. I was just a bit underwhelmed by the ending.

3.5 stars
I enjoyed this book more than her previous release. The first 40% was slow then suddenly multiple people die. A lot of time was spent discussing Iris, Gabriel and their needy guest Laure who had marriage trouble. I grew tired of Laure and reading about their daily lives in the beginning of the book. I became invested in the mystery, secrets, and lies. The story escalates and the epilogue came out of nowhere!

BA Paris pulled me in to another page turning mystery.
So many lies, by so many characters.
The relationships and the strain, heartache, and struggles within those relationships, all made sense in the end!
It just took until the Epilogue to figure it all out!
I cannot say much more, without spoiling it for others.
Well done BA Paris!

B.A. Paris is such a creative and talented author. She truly has a special way of creating an entire universe within the pages of her novels. I really enjoyed The Guest and felt it was masterly executed. 4.5 stars!!
Iris and Gabriel are returning home after a trip that didn’t go as planned. Gabriel is reeling from being a witness to an awful tragedy and Iris is trying desperately to pull him out of his heartache. Upon their return home their dear friend Laure is there following painful revelations from her husband, Pierre. Laure’s stay becomes anything but peaceful and the trauma that unravels has devastating consequences.
While reading this I did feel like it was a little drawn out BUT at the end of the book it all tied together and the little details made the outcome really shine!
I absolutely loved the ending/Epilogue and could not have been more pleased. Paris really threw me a curveball and I couldn’t have been more impressed!

I have now read every book by B.A. Paris! I'm a big fan for a long time. I really enjoyed the characters in this book, especially Esme and Hugh. I wanted to be theirfriend and visit their house! I actually liked all of the characters in this book good and bad.
I will be honest though and say this book fell a little flat for me as a psychological thriller. This is my favorite genre and mostly what I read. I was hoping for more thriller type events and this didn't really have any. I wanted some twists and turns but it read more like a drama. I would rate this more as a 3.5.
I did really enjoy the bit at the end from the persons view!

The best B.A. Paris book since Behind Closed Doors. I literally couldn't put it down. It took a little time getting the characters straight at first but the story picked up and didn't disappoint. I highly recommend this one to anyone who loves twisty thrillers.

I always look forward to a B.A. Paris release and The Guest did not disappoint. While the pacing is slow at times, there was enough intrigue and suspense to keep me engaged. I finished the book in about a day and a half, which is an accomplishment for me lately.
The domestic thriller centres around married couple, Gabriel and Iris, as they find themselves in an awkward situation with an unwanted houseguest. Their closest friends, Laure and Pierre, are in the midst of a serious argument and Laure shows up at their doorstep unannounced while Pierre seems to be mysteriously absent.
The novel navigates the strange behaviour of both Laure and Pierre while throwing in a few odd neighbours to make the mix a bit more interesting. The final twist will be shocking for most, but the novel contains enough breadcrumbs to make it very plausible (a balance that is often hard to strike).
I took one star off because I felt a few of the side stories were a little rushed and the resolutions were delivered by one character explaining it all in one breath. The same can be said of the ending, which I have noticed is part of Paris' style of writing (just happens I'm not a fan of a drawn out monologue confession).
Overall another great read. Thanks to NetGalley and st Martin's press for a free digital copy in exchange for a fair and honest review.
