The Guest is a fast-paced, domestic thriller. So many twists and turns and I was on the edge of my seat the whole time! I highly recommend if you’re in need of something bingeable!

This book was fantastic! It was captivating, difficult to put down and had some amazing twists and unexpected turns. I would strongly encourage you to read it!

While I love BA Paris' books, this one unfortunately fell more flat for me.
This book definitely had a slow burn for me. At first, I wasn't quite interested, but slowly I became more intrigued as we were introduced to more and more characters. Unfortunately, it just wasn't enough to hook me in and I still found myself struggling to get through it. I'm not sure if it's just reading it around the holiday season and being distracted or it just didn't quite hit for me.
Regardless, I will keep reading BA Paris' books as some of them are huge hits for me!

B.A. Paris used to be a go to author for me. Unfortunately, the past two books have been major misses for me. I couldn't not get invested in the storyline, I think because of all the characters and their relationships. I felt there was just too much going on. I stuck it out hoping the twist would be worth it, but in the end this story just fell flat for me.

An intriguing domestic thriller which finds couple Iris and Gabriel hosting their friend Laure for longer than they expected. When she comes to them and reveals her husband has fathered a child with another woman, Iris and Gabriel (who is dealing with his own trauma) are caught up in the mystery of why Laure's husband is refusing to communicate with anyone and why is Laure acting so strangely. This was a compelling read that reminded me of B.A. Paris's earlier titles.
Thank you for the ARC.

I'm sure this book will be great for the thriller fans out there. I wasn't feeling the writing style, as it felt pretty formulaic to the other stories in the genre. I own other books by this author, so I will be trying the other books to see if this author isn't for me, of if it just happens to be this book that doesn't work for me.

This one was not my favorite by this author. It was good but I usually love the books this author writes. This one didn’t keep my attention like the others. Still a good read. Thank you NetGalley for this advanced copy of this book.

The Guest by B.A. Paris is a thrill ride and let me tell you, I'm a sucker for a good thriller. B.A. Paris has been a go-to for me when I'm craving suspense, and once again, she knocked it out of the park. This book had me hooked from the get-go, and Paris didn't disappoint.
Iris and Gabriel return from a holiday to find their friend Laure chilling in their house. And from there, it's a rollercoaster of tension and surprises. I love how Paris weaves a tale of secrets and lies, making me question everyone's motives. The twists in this one? Pure genius. I was guessing until the end, and just when I thought I had it all figured out, Paris threw me for a loop. I found myself reading late into the night, unable to put it down. Laure's unpredictable mood and the unraveling secrets kept me on the edge of my seat, and I was here for every heart-pounding moment. If you love a thriller that messes with your head and keeps you guessing, The Guest is a five-star winner. B.A. Paris, you've done it again, and I can't wait for the next mind-bending adventure.

B.A. Paris always delivers a dark and twisty book...! "The Guest" was no exception to this rule. I still think "Behind Closed Doors" is the darkest and my favorite but I thoroughly enjoyed this one too!

The Guest is a tense, slow burn read that does a great job at creating a paranoid atmosphere. The chapters are short but that doesn’t make up for the plot proceeding at a slow crawl. The alternating POVs were confusing because it was difficult to tell which character’s POV the chapter was from. It was also confusing how quickly the chapters jumped ahead and I often felt like I had skipped a chapter because the flow from one to another was disjointed. Overall, the plot was interesting enough and the twists were good for a short read.

I will never turn down to read a book written by B.A. Paris, she is currently one of my favorite author. When presented with a chance to read The Guest, by her, of course I couldn't wait to dive in. Just like all of her novels, it was hard to pt this one down. The thing that makes The Guest stand out is as much as a guested at what was happening, I was never right! The characters were so likable and relatable. At times the story line felt a little slow, but it was all made up for with the last bit of this book! I would highly recommend this book!

Thank you for thr ARC! This one was intriguing but a little all over the place. All the characters were a little hard to like. I spent much of the book frustrated but it kept me intrigued.

First of all, thank you to NetGalley for allowing me to read the ARC and provide feedback! I’ve read a lot of B.A. Paris books and have thoroughly enjoyed them all. This one is no exception!
Iris and Gabriel return home from a trip to try and get their relationship back on track, only to find a good friend staying at their home. Their friend Laure has left her husband and needed a place to crash awhile. From there the problems just keep coming, right up until the ending which I did not see coming.
Secrets, lies, fast paced, always something else happening than what you expected!

Thank you, St Martin's Press and NetGalley, for the advanced copy of The Guest.
Boring. There was nothing that grabbed my attention and kept it there. Character development wasn't just not executed well; it straight up wasn't there. I'm usually a one-book-at-a-time reader, but I had to stop and read a different book twice during the course of TRYING to complete this one. The twist wasn't much of a twist, and you don't find out anything until the epilogue. I was ready for this one to end.

Thank you so much to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for this ARC!!
B. A. Paris knows how to keep a reader on the edge of their seat. While this book was more of a slow burn, you will not see the final twist coming and your jaw will hit the ground.

I was genuinely hooked on this one, devoured it in a day. Early on there were some subtle hints sprinkled in that really had my head churning. The pacing was good in my union. Sure, there were moments when things felt sluggish - the characters pretty much repeated the same day-to-day activities and were stuck on their specific worries, but I didn't find that too bothering. Speaking of characters, lol, what a messy set of people. I was eager for all their secrets to come to light. The major plot twist doesn't require much thought but I'm telling you the journey getting there is worth it. The smallest detail contributed to such a snowball effect. I'm very satisfied with that ending.
Thank you, NetGalley and St. Martin's Press, for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I was not a fan of this book. The build up took way too long and it was almost a DNF for me. I couldn’t connect with the characters but, decided to stick it out. Although the ending was exciting, the plot was not believable. Overall, I was disappointed.

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the opportunity to read the digital ARC of The Guest.
I have enjoyed several B.A. Paris's books and The Guest did not disappoint. I could not put this one down. The first half of the book really built up the characters well and you feel like you get to know them, but then you realize that you don't really know them at all. Iris and Gabriel come home from a holiday only to find their friend Laure staying at their home due to marriage problems she is having. Things get crazy from there.
There are twists and turns that I did not see coming. What a Thriller! The surprises and secrets kept me engrossed the whole way through. You really don't know who you can trust. 4 out of 5 stars from me.
Publication date: February 20, 2024.

The book was pretty simple and slow until about 85% through. I did not like the repetitiveness of it, I felt like after one chapter ended, the next chapter reiterated what the previous chapter said. There also wasn't much depth in the story. The twist was good, but I think overall the book fell flat for me.

This book felt all over the place. Like there were so many different stories going on at once.it also felt unnecessarily long. The twist at the end saved the book from being a lower rating for me.
