Great book, lots of twist and turns, fast paced, your not going to want to put this book down, new author to me, would love to read more from them.

Great short and snappy novella which was interesting enough to keep me interested, and wanting to read more.
Great read from a new to me author.

I enjoyed this book and I found it very interesting. I liked the concept and the idea behind it. The problem I had is that it's so short - I didn't realise that before I started reading it. I felt like too much happened in such a short space of time so things felt very rushed. We didn't get to know enough about the characters and things just kind of jumped from one thing to another.

Overall, a good book but I would prefer to have more background.

I loved that this was a short story it really was a good refresh between longer books! I thought the concept was really good and maybe it could have worked a little better as the ending was slightly rushed but overall I really enjoyed it and I know that as a palette cleanser many other people will enjoy it too!

3.5 stars! This novella has laid some great potential for the future books already in the works. Super background story with so many places for the narrative to go. There are family secrets, criminal and legitimate business, murder, long lost family members, a huge estate with secret passageways and even a “ghost”! I did feel like some of the scenes could have evoked some more emotion in addition to what was physically happening. But I am still looking forward to seeing how it all pans out in the upcoming books. Thank you to NetGalley and FB Publishing for the eARC.

This was a well written prequel novella. It definitely did it's job of getting me invested in the characters and curious as to where the story will go. I liked the way the suspense around Dylan's biological family was built up and I was definitely questioning who knew what and how he was going to find out the truth. I'm looking forward to reading more about these characters in future books.

This book had me wanting it to go on and on! The twist and turns and the family drama! Don't let the short read fool you....the plot twist in this book....I did not even know the world around me existed! Page after page I was surprised!

A super quick read which still manages to pack in some great twists.

After his mum dies, Dylan discovers that her estranged family are very wealthy and his grandmother wants to see him. He is sceptical, but curious enough to want to know more and soon discovers deceit and lies in abundance!

I’m pleased to see that this is a prequel to the series as there are some great characters here that I look forward to seeing further developed.

A super quick read but it did pack a punch and leave an impact! It gave a lot more than I'd expect from such a short story but it did make it feel a bit disjointed and forced. I'd have preferred less going on or if it wad longer but it's definitely wet my appetite for the author and I can't wait to explore more of their work! If that's what they can produce ad a wee taster, I can't wait to read some full length adventures

This short book could have been so much more. I thought the writing was great but I just found the story really slow and rushed at the same time. I would probably read a full length book from this writer though.

I am just going to be brutally honest with this.
It wasn't what i have anticipated.. or .. I had high hope.
I liked the cover a lot, the synopsis sounded good to me. Fast pace, given its a novella and there will be more books after this. I did not expect depth, it would a long journey. And i accepted that.

The Story has potential, it was a good idea, but the execution was just not there yet.
There were some unforeseeable turns which i liked, but again, execution.
The writing is not mature enough in my opinions, i found the book is disjointed hence not some smooth transaction if I may say. Its rather jumpy, i found myself frowning (with a German expression: hää??)

I felt and understood that the author wanted to create that thrills between characters and chapter. There were a lot of hidden fact or very short explanations as if i would just understand it. It didn't work on me.

Only if the book was a little longer. to me its not a thrilling thriller.

I hope to see more work of this author, he obviously have a bright mind.

Well this was a great book! But it is definitely just a novella tie in to the series so it just leaves you hanging! but it had high suspense, intrigue, action, murder, family drama, and some crazy twists and turns! The storyline was very interesting and had me glued to my Kindle! Although I wish it was much much longer! Ill have to look into the series! It sounds really good! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!

An entertaining read which manages to get a lot of detail into novella length. Managed to build good characters despite doing so quickly.
