Book two in this series follows Bobbi and Benjamin's love story. I loved the wedding setting with both our main characters involved, one is a wedding planner, the other a chef. They took their time getting together but once they did, boy were there fireworks! The storyline was sweet, both main characters likable, the backup Aunty characters were a hoot and I'm already hanging out for the next book in the series!

Tastes Like Shakkar takes readers deep into Americas Punjabi Indian community, where we are treated to all the glitz and glamour that is an Indian wedding. I found the amount of work and money spent on preparations for the wedding that is central to this story to be truly mind-blowing. Wedding planner Bobbi and chef Benjamin are the main romantic characters in this story, having been asked to work together to prepare the wedding of their friends. While these two certainly don’t get off to the best start, it isn’t long before we see a relationship building and the sheets sizzling. That said, I felt that many of the bedroom scenes were completely unnecessary to progress the story and frankly the kink and dominance portrayed in those scenes were not my cup of tea. Despite this, this book is certainly a cultural adventure and was mostly an entertaining read.

Thanks to Harper Collins Australia, Netgalley and the author for an ARC of this book. I am leaving this unbiased review voluntarily.

I haven't read Dating Dr Dil, which was the well-received first book of this series (aptly named 'If Shakespeare Was An Auntie) but I don't think it really mattered as this book is a stand-alone.

It's loosely based on 'Much Ado About Nothing' which I fell in love with in high school and binge-watched (the Kenneth Branagh version) all through my 20's.

We have Bobbi and Benjamin, a Desi couple, in the Beatrice and Benedick roles in this book. It's very spicy and very swoony - it's also an easy read. I recommend not reading while you are hungry. And frozen parathas will never taste the same again, trust me. There's also a little light kink so be prepared to have your socks blown off.

I have a feeling Veera's story might be my favourite and I can't wait for the next book.

Bobbi is a dedicated wedding/event planner who has taken on the task of planning her best friends wedding (who we met in the first instalment of this series - Dating Dr Dil). Her relationship with Bunty has been rocky from the start and they can’t seem to stop themselves from fighting every time they’re in the same room.

I love the representation in these books. It might just be my limited exposure, but I’m just not used to seeing Indian women being super horny in books/movies etc. and I bloody loved it. I love an enemies to lovers and their fighting and then their eventual hook up was entertaining and hot.

There was so much drama going on, from wedding sabotage to family drama to long distance relationships, there was never a dull moment. I can’t wait until I’m in my own gaggle of meddling Aunties.

Thanks to #NetGallery and the publisher. I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

**editing to add that the watermark that was across all the pages made the book very hard to read and it was really distracting. Especially with the already small front size**

Well this was unexpected - and great fun! Getting tied up in all the shenanigans between Bobbi and Bunty was absolutely delicious. These two are very busy and very grown up, navigating all the demands of their respective businesses and organising a big south Asian (Indian?) wedding for Prem and Kareena - who we met in Dating Dr. Dil.
Dominant Bunty is a big deal chef with new and existing businesses and he wants to get all bound up with wedding and event planner Bobbi.

It's busy and chaotic with both the families involved and a bunch of opinionated and meddling side characters. There's amazing food, and texting, and lots of communicating. Nobody is strung along and they find themselves roped in by their mutual attraction. It's steamy and kinky and not very swoony - no vanilla here - but great fun with shenanigans all around.

I could say it might not be for everyone but I really enjoyed this very fresh romance.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC.
