A great sci-fi book, an enjoyable read.
Other than some editing issues and some parts slowing down, it was a very good read, with an interesting story and well developed characters.

With space travel to distant exoplanets having become a reality, the most sought after question had finally been put to rest: are there other forms of intelligent life within our Galaxy? Short answer: yes. Not only does intelligent life exist, but it does so in great abundance.

Two strangers, unknown to each other, were mysteriously removed from there everyday lives. They were transported through an unknown black void and somehow wound up on a distant planet, one with 3 moons.

From beginning to end, the chapters screamed with nonstop action. It was an exciting read. The two main protagonists of the storyline, Detective Jake Wells and Paula Campbell, depended on each other in order to survive. Though they were complete strangers at first, they would soon need to work together to find a way off of the God forsaken planet. Would it even be possible? Little did they know, who, or rather what waited for them just around the corner.

4 Stars, Parallel Universe

UNEXPECTED HEROES: THE GALACTIC ADVENTURES SERIES-BOOK ONE
By Brian Bowers

Two strangers were unexpectedly taken to an alternate universe. Detective Jake Wells and teacher Paula Campbell meet under unusual circumstances. They don't understand what is going on. They find out that they are to work together and try to save the world from human-hating aliens.

The story is original and believable. There were scores of grammatical errors, words that ran together, or no spacing before and after a period. Religious exclamations were often, but it was refreshing not to have any religious profanities. Some of the descriptions were overly long, author's preference, I'm sure. I thought that it was perhaps this was the first novel for this author, but when I looked him up to get the details about the book, I found that he has written 14 other books.

The book had a conclusion, so it didn't seem as though it was a cliffhanger.
