I enjoyed this story with all the characters that were within. The main characters were Sarah Webb and Brian Hawkins.

Sarah Webb leaves her boyfriend's apartment after a marriage proposal that has gone wrong. She is not ready to be married to him. She decides to stay at her friend's apartment. But she didn't expect that her friend's brother to be there. His name is Brian Hawkins. Her friend only has one room left. And he doesn't want to give it to her.

This was a fun action and drama story to read. There was quite a bit of giggles throughout. This book is the three in a series.

Get a Room is a romance about a best friend's brother. Sarah was proposed to on her birthday by her boyfriend, who clearly didn't know her, as he didn't expect her to say no. At her refusal, she gets kicked out and moves back into her best friend's apartment. Brian is also crashing at his sister's apartment, and while they can't stand each other at first, they quickly warm up to each other. It's an interesting romance and explores the dynamics of friendship and romance.

This book was a light and breezy read, perfect for when you need a break from heavy or complex stories. The writing style was simple and engaging, making it easy to fly through the pages without getting lost or overwhelmed. If you're into romance reads that don't require much emotional investment, this one fits the bill.

The story follows Sarah and Brian, two people who unexpectedly end up living under the same roof due to a shared connection—Jess, who happens to be Sarah’s best friend and Brian’s sister. The setup had a lot of potential with classic tropes like forced proximity, fake dating, and the best friend’s brother angle. I appreciated the dual POV format; it gave more depth to both characters and helped readers understand their emotional growth and perspectives.

While I did enjoy the dynamic between Sarah and Brian—their banter was cute and their chemistry felt natural at times—the romance overall felt a bit rushed and lacked the emotional build-up I was hoping for. It came off more youthful and idealistic than believable, almost like teenage infatuation rather than a grounded love story. The epilogue, in particular, leaned a bit too cheesy for my taste.

What stood out was how distinct all the side characters were; despite the number of them, it never felt confusing. Unfortunately, the character of Jess didn’t sit right with me. She felt self-centered and never truly earned her redemption. Her actions had serious consequences but were brushed aside far too easily.

The premise itself was intriguing, but the execution fell a little flat. There were emotional threads and personal struggles for both main characters, yet they weren’t explored deeply enough to leave a lasting impact. I also felt the story lacked a strong, cohesive plot—it was more like a sequence of events than a narrative with real momentum.

Overall, I’d say this is a sweet and undemanding read. Great if you're looking for something fun, romantic, and easy, but not the best pick if you’re after a more emotionally grounded or slow-burn romance. Recommended for fans of lighthearted rom-coms, especially those who enjoy classic tropes with a modern twist.

These down on their luck idiots are amazing together. The pranks were hilarious and I'm so glad that the awkwardness didn't get to the point of cringe. I thought it was a well done book.

Thanks NetGalley for the preview!

I struggled with the beginning of this one but it was sweet and spicy! I loved the nerdy Brian and Sarah was an interesting character. Jess made me a little frustrated but I’m glad it worked out. I also loved the premise of Sarah’s job.

REVIEW: Get a Room by Casey Dembowski

If you're into rom-coms with a side of workplace drama and a sprinkle of steam, this book covers you. Two co-workers can't stand each other and are forced to share a hotel room at a work conference. Classic enemies-to-lovers setup, right? But Dembowski throws in enough twists to keep things fresh and exciting. The banter between our main characters is top-notch. I'm talking snappy comebacks, sarcastic quips, and enough sexual tension to power a small city. There were moments when I was laughing out loud. Dembowski does a great job of developing the characters beyond just their rivalry. You get to see their vulnerabilities, backstories, and why they act as they do. It makes their eventual connection feel earned, not just convenient for the plot. The pacing is solid - there's a good balance of funny moments, steamy scenes, and character growth.

Now, it could be better. Some workplace stuff feels cliché, and some plot points are predictable. But honestly? I will forgive a few well-worn tropes when a book's this entertaining.

I appreciated how Dembowski handled consent and communication. It's refreshing to see a romance novel that doesn't shy away from these critical topics while keeping things sexy and fun. "Get a Room is a solid, entertaining read that'll leave you with a goofy grin. It's not going to change your life, but it's going to brighten your day.

Get a Room by Casey Dembowski is a charming exploration of unexpected romance and personal growth. Brian Hawkins, grappling with recent setbacks, seeks refuge in his sister’s home, only to find himself sharing space with Sarah Webb, his sister’s vibrant best friend. Brian’s gruff exterior contrasts with Sarah’s lively, colorful personality, creating instant friction.

As they vie for the single bed and engage in playful pranks, their initial antagonism gives way to a deeper understanding. Sarah's defiant charm and Brian’s reluctant vulnerability unveil layers of their personalities, drawing them closer. Their evolving friendship, marked by witty banter and heartfelt moments, transforms into a genuine romantic connection.

Dembowski crafts a delightful narrative where character development and chemistry shine, proving that even the most unexpected circumstances can lead to profound and lasting connections. This novel is a delightful exploration of love and personal reinvention.

For an enemies to lovers they fell in love way to quickly. I feel it could have been drawn out more, wasn't my favorite. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this book to friends so my review will only be posted on netgalley. Thank you to the author, the publisher and netgalley for allowing me a copy of this book.

This was a story of choice between love and friendship. Sarah has a true blue friendship that has endured the test of time. Until she falls in love with her friend’s brother. Then a choice has to be made according to her best friend, Jess. But is her friend only thinking of herself, as she has been deceiving her over a hidden boyfriend?

Thank you to Casey Dembowski and NetGalley for allowing me to read this book in exchange for my review.

I didn't feel the connection between the characters as much as I would've liked to. This was a contemporary "enemies to lovers" story between Sarah and her best friends brother Brian. Them being "enemies" didn't make sense to me. I can't remember if it was explained why they hated each other but if it was I have no memory of it. They also got over their years long hatred towards each other as soon as they were in a space together for an extended period of time which felt unrealistic. I guess I did like the book. I read it quickly, and it was so easy to read but it felt like there was a little something missing. Jess, Brian's sister and Sarah's best friend also annoyed me. The whole conflict involving her just frustrated me and it made me dislike her character instantly even though I had liked her for the rest of the book.

The story was fine. It was a fake-dating, forced proximity, brother's best friend, enemies to lovers, secret relationship story which wasn't incredible but wasn't boring. I read through it so quickly and it was a fine in-between book for me.

"Get a Room" by Casey Dembowski is a delightful contemporary romance that will sweep you off your feet! The story follows Sarah and Brian, who find themselves reluctantly sharing an apartment, leading to hilarious pranks, heartfelt moments, and unexpected chemistry. Dembowski's writing shines with its engaging banter and vivid character development. Sarah and Brian are both complex characters with relatable struggles and growth throughout the story. Their relationship evolves from enemies to friends to something more, and the journey is both entertaining and heartwarming.

One of the highlights of the book is the dynamic between Sarah and Brian. Their banter is witty, their chemistry is palpable, and their romantic moments are beautifully written. It's a story that will make you laugh, swoon, and root for the characters to find their happily ever after.

While there were moments that frustrated me, particularly with some of the characters' actions toward the end, I appreciated the realism and depth it added to the story. It made the characters feel more authentic and relatable, showcasing their flaws and growth.

Overall, "Get a Room" is a charming and enjoyable read that will appeal to fans of contemporary romance. Whether you're new to Casey Dembowski's work or a longtime fan, this book is sure to captivate you with its engaging story and lovable characters.

I absolutely loved "When We're Thirty" so I was ecstatic to read this one. Unfortunately, by 8%, I still hadn't connected with either MC, and I didn't feel invested. The writing feels similar to her other book, so if you like Casey Dembowski's writing style, give this a shot.

5 stars - self-publishing is hard.

Thank you to NetGalley and Red Adept Publishing for the ARC.

Get a Room is a charming romantic comedy that will make you smile throughout. The story follows Sarah, who is kicked out of her boyfriend's house after she rejects his proposal, and then she decides to go back and live with her best friend, Jess. The problem is that Jess already gave Sarah’s old room to her brother, Brian. In a new city without a job or acquaintances, Brian is having a hard time surviving.

Sarah is lively, helpful, and has a fighting spirit. It was wonderful to watch Brian gradually come into his own, make new friends, gain confidence, and more. I adored the entertaining conversation and fun banter between Sarah and Brian. The fake dating era of Brain and Sarah was great and fun. I did not like Jess a lot because I found her a bit unsupportive.

I appreciate reading romantic novels in third-person POV because I don't often do so. It was easy to read because of the author's writing style and simple language. I loved the friendship that Sarah, Brian, and Jessica shared at first. However, despite being enemies to lovers, there was less of an enemy part. I was expecting more details about their enemy stage and more enemy banter. But it was an amazing contemporary romance read. 💜
