I was NOT expecting this book to be so good! This was so different from French Holiday, which was my first book by Sarah Ready, and I truly loved them both so much and so differently. The Space Between was absolutely heartbreaking in the very best way. Andrea and Jace were such lovable characters, despite their flaws. The family scenes and band scenes with Jace's family were just so heartwarming and I loved watching their relationships evolve and change. Andrea's family was an entirely different dynamic and I feel like both were so well written! This was written well, I was hooked by the storyline and the characters had great depth. I laughed, I cried, I couldn't put it down!
There were a couple steamier scenes, but the could easily be skipped if you prefer a closed door romance.
I switched between the audiobook and the ebook and truly loved both. The narrators were perfectly cast and they did a great job of displaying the emotions from the book.
5 stars-- Love!
Thanks to Netgalley, Sarah Ready and the publisher for the chance to read and review this early. all opinions are mine

I love Sarah Ready’s books and writing style so I knew I was going to love this one. But, I wasn’t prepared for the emotional roller coaster Jace and Andrea’s story took me on! It broke my heart and ripped it clear out of my chest! Yes, it put it back together but it was quite the journey! Andrea is from a wealthy family and Jace is an orphaned musician. This story spans throughout about fifteen years and is beautifully written. I absolutely loved Jace’s brothers and would love more of them! There is so much character growth, not only from our main characters, but also the side characters. This book pulled me in from the beginning and I couldn’t stop reading! It is pretty long but I feel it is needed for the whole story. It never felt too long for me. I absolutely loved Jace and Andrea and even though their story was heartbreaking at times, it is also beautifully told. I can’t wait to read more from this author!

This is a story that takes place in the space of 14 years of longing, heartbreak, first love, loss, death, adolescence, adulthood, maturity, and the act of fate.
Our heroine Andrea (Andi) Leighton-Hughes is a very rich young girl at the age of 18 years old. As Leighton-Hughes she had to always live by the rules of society. However, Andrea lives a somehow double life when she dresses like a normal girl and sits around Central Park, and that is where fate brings her to Jace.
Jace Morgan is a normal boy from a normal family who grew up surrounded by love and music. As a family, they were a music band and they couldn't be happier despite their poor status. One day, The 3 brothers lost both of their parents and all is left is their band and the promise to make it big and fulfill their parent's dreams.
So when Jace meets Andrea an instant connection is formed and somehow both of them knew they were their each other soulmates.
However, life has a different saying on the matter and them being together is not easy as it seems.
I loved this book so much and what made the reading experience way better is that I read and listened to the audiobook simultaneously🤩 Although I'm not a big fan of audiobooks this one was perfect, the narrators did an excellent job with it.
There were so many emotional parts I cried which doesn't happen often and that means I was deeply affected. The storyline was surprising every time I predict something a twist comes and leaves me speechless.
I could talk about it for hrs and it won't be enough. So I will just say, this is Sarah's best work yet and a MUST read😉.
Thank you to the publisher and @netgalley for granting me an ARC of #TheSpaceBetween in exchange for my honest review.
Xoxo

I was not ready for this book. I was on edge for about the first 40% of it. It's so beautiful and heartwarming and sweet that I was just waiting for something bad to happen. I was still shocked by the betrayal. The way this story plays out is so unique to the romance genre and I loved it! There is some insta-love which I'm usually not a big fan of, but it's such a great story that I'm good with it. Andi is such an amazing character, I loved every minute of her development. It's romantic and magical but still realistic with the complications the characters are handling. I've read a few other books by Sarah Ready. Josh and Gemma Make a Baby has always been my favorite but now it's this one. It's most definitely also going in my Top Ten Reads of this year. If you are a romance reader, READ THIS BOOK!

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
I really wanted to like this book because of its unique premise and reviews. However, the author’s lack of first hand experience in living in NYC was very disappointing for me. It was also too YA for me.
Dozens of details are just wrong. I cannot recommend this book.
3 stars

Jace and Andi's story was engaging and entertaining, but plagued with misunderstandings and miscommunication. We follow them through their initial meeting as teenagers from very different social classes until adulthood. It's an instant connection for Jace and Andi and at first, they believe they can weather any storm together, but of course life never goes as planned.
We get to see Jace and Andi fall in love, lose each other, and reconnect after eight years before falling apart one final time. They do get their happy ending, but the road there is more than a bit bumpy. I did enjoy their story but I felt Jace and Andi were a bit quick to forgive those who conspired to keep them apart. A lot of their later misunderstandings could also have been resolved a lot sooner had they just communicated more effectively.
The Space Between us was a roller coaster of a story full of ups and downs, time jumps, and angsty goodness with a happy ending. Basically, you're going to suffer, but you're going to be happy about it.

This was everything we want in a contemporary romance. The duel point of view was great, the timeline and pacing was good. I loved this story. The characters were likable with good development. The writing was very descriptive, you can feel like you’re there. Wonderful to read. The only downside was that made some things repetitive at times (for ex. Pink lace, cherry blossoms) but overall beautifully written.

Sarah Ready is a phenomenal author. I absolutely loved her book French Holiday so when this one popped up on NetGalley I immediately requested. This book was one of young love, heartbreak, rebuilding, second chances, and found family.
Andi is such a strong woman and powerful in her own right. Even when she is at her lowest, she is able to show up for the people she loves. Jace is broken and only music and Andi seem to put him back together. Their story starts off hot and heavy and then hits roadblock after roadblock. Each character, whether they were main characters or side characters were each flawed and broken in their own beautiful way.
The space between represents their time between being together and finding each other again and it was such a powerful novel. My absolute favorite part of this book was how Andi and Jace always asked each other for a song lyric to signify the moment they were in, I just found this so heartfelt and beautiful. There were multiple plot points that I didn’t see coming that immediately had tears streaming down my face. This was an emotional read that I am so happy to have been given the chance to read

I love Sarah Ready's books as they always make me feel so much more than I think I'm going to and in ways that I don't expect. Jace and Andi's love story is sweet and beautiful and heartbreaking and healing. Sarah took me on another lovely emotional journey that left me feeling like I lived another life and came through it with tears and laughter. Her writing style is transportive and effortlessly flows. Her characters feel real, flaws and all, and are very relatable. This story highlights a misunderstanding and how that can affect a relationship long term and Sarah brings it full circle with redemption and love.

Sarah Ready is quickly becoming an instant read author for me.
I absolutely love The Space Between us. I was instantly rooting for Jace and Andi. They came from very different childhoods but they still found common ground. Andi seemed like the best sort of people, who liked people for who they are vs what they can do for her.
I liked the brothers and band…until you’ll know what I mean when you read it. I won’t spoil here. After that I wasn’t a huge fan of them after what they did.
The second half of the book showed how selfless Andi was and I think it’s exactly what she needed because she wasn’t living the life she should have. I’m glad that Reid redeemed himself and brought back Andi’s fire.
I definitely will be recommending this one for a long time. Pick it up, you won’t regret it.
Thanks to Netgalley and W.W. Crown for copy of The Space Between in exchange of an honest review.

Sarah does it again. Gosh, what a story this is. Deeply impactful & emotional. Andrea (Andi) & Jace's story pans through decades. But told in 3 parts, this is a story of redemption, love, second chances, and found family.
This book is 400+ pages long but will get by in a blink of an eye; that gripping it was. Jace & Andi were fated lovers who every time found the right person but at the wrong time. I loved how every aspect of their relationship was shown & justified.
But most importantly, I loved the beauty of showing more than 1 form of love. Won't get much into it, but you have to read to understand.
Fans of Cocktail starring Tom Cruise & Love, Rosie/Where Rainbows End by Cecelia Ahern, you're going to devour this.
<i>Thank you Netgalley & Publisher for the arc in exchange for an honest review.<i>

I got lost in the space between for a whole day and didn't feel.guilty at all. It was witty, thought-provoking, sad, frustrating and showed that people do change - we all make mistakes.

What started as an insta-love story between two 17 year olds turned into an agonizing decade+ long journey back to each other. I was not fully invested in Jace and Andi's love story, especially running away and getting engaged as teenager, but I did like how the story wrapped up.

The first part of this book is a YA and the second part is a love triangle story (which was not my cup of tea). If you like tortured love stories, with characters' stories told over a long period of time, and with misunderstandings and intrigue playing a big part in the story, then this book is for you, otherwise not.

This one is up there as a top favorite book of the year so far. That’s right, 𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗳𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲.
Wow, this book. Every single character had such compelling stories. Every single character had such depth. The main characters were loveable and flawed and caring and broken- literally every emotion you can think of was brought to the forefront in this book.
I smiled, I laughed, I swooned, and I cried (ugly cried 😭) and it was a beautiful experience.
If you’re looking for a book with depth and soul, this is the one my friends.
Sarah Ready, you blew me away with this one. Thank you for writing such a beautiful and inspiring story 🫶🏻

3.5 Stars
The Space Between is a heartwarming coming-of-age contemporary romance book about Jace and Andrea and the ups and downs in their lives.
The story is told from two POVs. Jace and Andrea both come from different backgrounds. Jace is a musical genius who grew up in the Bronx and formed a band with his brothers and friends after his parents died.
Andrea is from a wealthy family and has an image to maintain. Andrea also goes by Andi when she’s not with her family or does not need to maintain an image. Jace and Andrea were head over heels in love with each other, but nobody understood their love. From the beginning, they were meant for each other. Their journey is full of ups and downs.
I loved Reid and Andrea’s friendship and Reid's character growth. The bonding between Jace and his brothers and friends is beautiful.
This book is about love, loss, grief, finding family, family dynamics, and overcoming obstacles life throws at them.
I'm not a fan of Insta-love, and they were just 17 when they declared each other the love of their lives; it was too much for me. At one time, there were so many things happening in the book, like a surprise baby, a terminal illness, and a wedding.
The plot has lots of drama, and the ending is satisfying. The author has beautifully captured the emotion of the character, and I loved the simplicity of the premises.
Overall, it was a great read.

This book had me 😡 fuming (at a certain character), laughing, smiling, swooning and crying like a baby.
The epitome of an emotional rollercoaster. I felt like I was right there on this journey with them.
Some people have said this was too long and honestly it's not. Each timeline gets the perfect amount of time and it never felt slow. Is 540 pages a lot, yes but the other option is a duet and this is just so much better.
This is my 4th book by this author and not only my favorite from her now but a tip 5 book for me this year (out of 168 books read this year!)
Thank you Netgalley and W.W. Crown Books for this ARC to read in exchange for an honest review!

I did NOT know what to expect going into listening to this ALC. I had never read Sarah Ready but she was recommended by a friend, so I was excited to give her a try. This book was a complete doozy of emotions - it broke me apart and then put me back together again.
Jace & Andrea were the definition of young love - coming from different lives and trying to buck whatever expectations were placed upon them. They fell for each other fast at a young age and tried to make it work despite the odds being stacked against them. When their breakup comes, it’s devastating - there was such a strong build-up for them as a couple. Their personalities fit perfectly from the start, and never faltered.
But then, after the breakup, that’s when the story really starts to hit. The years that go by for Jace and Andrea come with so many twists and turns - success, grief, growing up, surprises. I couldn’t stop listening once we hit that 50% mark…it felt like a love story that had to end well, but the road to get there was so windy. Jace became a beloved musician but he was ultimately sad, and Andrea had become a hardened shell of her former happy self. Both needed each other but it took time to find their way back.
I read this as a e-book/audiobook hybrid and it was super enjoyable. I’d strongly recommend going into this book blind but know that there will be a lot of sweet moments and a lot of tears.

Wow just wow! This book broke me. I read this book in one sitting and just wanted to read it again after I finished it.
The Space Between is a story filled with love, laughter, and gut-wrenching heart aches. It follows Andi and Jace as they navigate through life. Their love for each other never fades when they are apart for a while.

Thank you Sarah Ready, W.W. crown and Netgalley for this arc.
The only other book I have ready by Sarah Ready was French Holiday (I know, I will be fixing this error asap) so I made the assumption that she was a romcom writer and that I knew what to expect. Turns out I was pretty wrong about that, there is no com in this one but hold your heart and squeezes.
Jace and Andrea are from two separate worlds, rich and the poor if NYC. When they meet where those two worlds collide, Central Park, the connection and chemistry was instant. But when you meet the love of your life at 17, the road ahead isn’t easy and there is a lot of space between.
This was such a good read, I did find the first 25ish% a bit slow but once it the plot got going, I could not put this one down. It does have a duel POV which I liked but i felt like we spend too much time with each narrator at the time, I kept wanting to know what the other one was up to. I love New York and Central Park had a special place in my heart so I loved that so much of the story was set in places that were easily referenced and identifiable without stopping the momentum of the plot. I can’t wait to read the rest of Sarah’s catalog both books I have read of hers have been winners.
