This review is based on an uncorrected e-galley of this novel.

I requested this novel based on the premise of a look into the mind of a highly sensitive neurodivergent introvert, but I felt like this publication lacked focus at times. Despite the lack of focus, I felt that this was a thought-provoking look into the highly sensitive mind. I wish there had been more focus on the neurodivergent side and that there was an overarching point to tie all of the chapters together, but overall, this was a quick and fairly enjoyable read.

This book was unfortunately a DNF for me. It's more of a collection of short essays than a cohesive book, which is ok, but the writing style was just a little too disjointed for me. I struggled to figure out what the purpose of the individual essays or the book as a whole was. As an autistic, introverted woman myself, I was excited by the description, but the writing style just wasn't for me. Some people would probably really enjoy it, and Green definitely has some interesting things to say, but I just wasn't able to hang in there beyond about 50 pages.

Disjointed and hard for me to follow exactly what the point is. Definitely some useful things her but is just comes off as a mishmash for most of the time. There is a definite possibility that this will work for someone but that is not me.

As an introvert, I was intrigued when I saw this release. This is a wonderful telling of how highly sensitive neurodivergent introverts feel and how society views them. One of my favorite books is Quiet by Susan Cain. I highly recommend these two books. 4 Stars
