I think you’d be better off reading the series book 1 vs. jumping in. I liked the characters, the authors writing style and the narration.

You Can't Hide is a book with a tough premise. It has to do with human trafficking. Young girls are stalked and kidnapped. The audiobook was well narrated but the multiple POVs were confusing at some points. This is one of those books that rushes to the end And I was I had more time with it. I was left wanting a little more by the end as I felt some things were left fully lushed out and I needed some more answers. This was still a great listen.

You Can’t Hide I recieved the wrong book and even tho this was intended to be an audio review I had to obtain buy a digital copy. With all that said once I was able to read the book it’s a Vince addition to the series and is as always by this author a good read. Definitely enjoyed it!

I didn't realise this was part of a series. While I don't normally mind jumping in part way through a series, this was not one for me.
The premise was fantastic, as was the writing. This is my first by Willow Rose and I will definitely read any stand alone she writes.
The story about human trafficking was tough to read, but also a reality. Unfortunately for me, what let me down was the ending.
It's probably a 'me' thing and not to take away from an extremely clever thriller, but I cannot stand cliffhangers.
Many thanks to Netgalley and Dreamscape media for a gifted ALC.

When I received this book there was a slight mix-up. It was under the wrong author, title, and cover for the description. So I did not actually get to download and listen to this one before it was archived. So I don’t have an actual review, but needed to give feedback so it doesn’t negatively affect my feedback percentage.
P.S. My star rating is solely based on the book that I thought I was getting.

I ended up with this ARC by mistake but then decided I needed to listen anyway. It wasn't bad. It just seemed a little fear mongering. The target kidnappings are a creepy trope/urban legend. The stories of near abductions come up all the time on the mom groups. However, it almost feels like another way to keep us women home, protected by husbands, and never taking any chances. No posting online, no sports, no trips to target for shoes. It keeps us women in our place.
The truth is most killers are picking up lone women in places without cameras and they snag girls from the foster care system or the "rehoming" sites for kids (that is a dangerous situation but it is legal.). They aren't snagging us from target or our kids schools.
The "bad guys" were over the top too.
I don't know. It just didn't work for me.
I know a lot of people love these and I hope they grab this one!
It is good for the right people.

Another great read. I'm a fan of Willow Rose's books and I was so thrilled when this audiobook came up. The narrator did an excellent job of presenting the story in a great way. I used every moment to listen to the book. The story, the characters, and everything were developing at a perfect pace, which kept me engaged and interested throughout the book.
Since I own a Kindle copy of the book too, I have to admit that the experience of reading and listening to this story was equally satisfying.

I want to begin by issuing a cautionary note to all potential readers of this review: "You Can't Hide" delves into the unsettling realm of human trafficking. While it may be uncomfortable, it reflects the harsh realities of our world.
Having experienced the audiobook version of this story, I feel compelled to strongly recommend opting for the Kindle or paper format if you are interested in this book. The story encompasses a multitude of characters and unfolds through various timelines, which can be slightly disorienting when listened to.
If this particular narrative fails to captivate you, I wholeheartedly suggest exploring Willow's other work, specifically "One, Two... He Is Coming For You." Willow Rose is an exceptional storyteller whose prowess will undoubtedly leave you enthralled.

I was given this ARC as a publisher mistake but thought it was right up my alley so why not give it a go! I DNF for two main reasons.
1) The narrator. The most important thing for me with audiobooks it’s not that the narrator can do all the voices and accents (though I do love Jim Dale) but that they can sell me on the book without it sounding like the voice over of a commercial. Unfortunately, this narrator could not. While I’m sure if I had read the book I probably would have finished it, the narrator made it sound as corny as an Activia commercial. I was physically cringy 30 seconds in but really tried to last it. I think I gave up after 45 minutes or so.
2) I love multiple plot lines and narration, don’t get me wrong… but there were too many. And all with characters with similar names and stories? Maybe? I’m not sure. It was impossible to keep up with and difficult to sort through. Like, at one point we jumped to 1970s Vietnam before explaining any of the other story lines, and while I’m sure they’re all tied together, I don’t think it’s on the reader to do the work and keep track of everything while being confused and hopefully for an appealing storyline.
DNF 1.5/5

When the book starts a woman name Maria and her daughter Tara is shopping at target for a pair of shoes and a man seems to be following them and keeps making Tara laugh with funny faces. and soon after exiting the store Maria sees him again but this time he isn’t so nice and kidnaps her and her daughter Tara. After they wake up they see they are in a high rise apartment in a room with a locked door when the man comes in he informs Maria that he has paid a lot of money for them and until he is bored they need to make him happy or else? Now onto the subplot Mary Mills‘s son Salter wants to live with his dad who now has his new girlfriend living there which totally upsets Mary Danny gets arrested for trying to buy a trafficked 14-year-old girl and Chloe X married to bail him out. There’s a man named boxer going around Florida kidnapping mothers and daughters and selling them to rich men to use his toys but who is this boxer we get to meet him and his drunken brother and his sick mother there’s another POV with Bow and Ong, they live in Vietnam and it’s the 1970s and it’s Ong‘s 8th birthday when Gorillaz break in their home arrested dad and beat up their mom their mom says the bad guys are coming and they must’ve run away or Bow Will be made a soldier and on a prostitute and she begs them to leave but leaving or not save them from horrible people. There’s also dead fish in the river and it’s becoming an international story, there are many other parts of the plot I want to say but it would give too much away but I think it’s OK if I mention Danny tells Mary and Chloe a secret he’s been having that blows their mind and Mary isn’t done with kidnapped family members. I love Willow roses bookstore always so layered with mini POV‘s that all somehow come together in the end in the Mary mils Series it’s like an ongoing soap opera with serious and legitimate plotted stories to go with it. She always has so many twists and turns in her books and You Can’t Hide it’s just one in a list of mini grade books in this series in any book from her other series. I do want to say I listen to the audio version of this book and I found the narrator although she has a nice voice it leaves a lot to be desired because she will say things like “oh no“ she screamed but says it in a very monotone voice which doesn’t help set the tone for a great listening experience I think if she practice more and put emphasis into what she’s reading it would be much better. These books are high octane reading and to have someone reading it that sounds like she is reading a book to children just didn’t work for me I kept listening only because it was a willow Rose book but hadn’t been any other I think I would’ve DNF this book. I’m very sorry that’s just my honest opinion about the narrator. Either way as far as the Kindle book goes this is a definite five star read as far as the audiobook goes I would give it four stars only because you have to listen to the narrator who let me reiterate sounds like a nice person just not a great narrator. I received the stock from NetGalley and dreamscape media but I am leaving this review voluntarily please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.

Many thanks to Net Galley and Dreamscape Media for a copy of You Can't Hide by Willow Rose.
This has such a good storyline, but it was hard to follow via audiobook. However difficult the book was too follow, I did enjoy it. 4 ⭐️

Due to a publisher mix-up, this was archived before it was initially supposed to be, but the book has now been uploaded correctly, and I am looking forward to reading!
