WOW, what a great thriller!!

I have been wanting to read one of Freida McFadden's book for a little while now and of course had to jump at the chance when I saw this one!

I absolutely love the reading style. I started reading this late one afternoon and just couldn't put it down. I was reading off of my Kindle that was on my kitchen counter, while also trying to make supper.

If you are a fan of thrillers, definitely check this one out. If you've never read a thriller before, this one would be a great place to start, you will not be disapointed.

This was a crazy and fun ride, I will be reading all of Freida's books, I can guarantee that much.

This has to be Freida's best work yet omg!!! I had been in SUCH a reading slump but I binge read this. I read until 4 am just to finish this. Around 35% in, I was disappointed because I was CONVINCED I knew the whole story. I was not even close. This was an incredible read, I loved it. Natalie is SO unlikeable, but at the same time, you kind of want to be her.

I was intrigued by this book just by the cover alone. I thought the concept was pretty common in the fact that it can literally happen to anyone where you can come across a mean girl at work and I enjoyed the plot twist. I think it kept you guessing and wondering throughout the entire book to see who was actually at fault and what happened. The very ending gave me the satisfaction that I wasn’t crazy for disliking the character so much and showed that not everything was what it seems.

The Coworker revolves around Natalie who is being framed for her coworker, Dawn, going missing. It goes through their history on how it led to her disappearance and possible death and what is happening to Natalie in present day following her interrogations and suspicious things she keeps finding pinpointing it to her being the reason Dawn is missing. Overall a 3.5/5 stars for me.

As stated on the audio review, I did this one on audio and digital because I couldn't put it down! I love Freida McFadden and loved this new book. I can't say I was surprised to find that Dawn was alive after all, I figured she was, but I was surprised to find that Natalie's boyfriend was working with her. And to find out Dawn's background but I loved that the POV switched midway through! I will always read Frieda's books, they are always fun!

Another unputdownable twisty thriller from Freida McFadden! I’ve read most of McFadden’s other books so I knew to expect the unexpected, but I still couldn’t guess the non-stop twists and turns in The Coworker. A fun, easy read. Finished in one day because I needed to know how it would turn out!!

With the two female main characters narrating, we quickly learn that someone is not being honest. But who can we trust?

A must-read if you’re interested in suspense, revenge and retribution, murder mysteries, and corporate workplace drama.

Freida has done it again! I was absolutely mind boggled by the ending of this, which was amazing! Freida kept me on my toes for sure, now I believe I need to save the turtles!

I really liked that this book was unique and not the same ole same ole thriller! Part two had me like 😳 I really enjoyed this one as I always love Freida’s books! I really encourage everyone to give this one a try!! It had some storylines that everyone should read! This book was a great thriller but it also had some other things to it that really made it a great read! I won’t give away any spoilers though! Freida McFadden is quickly becoming a new favorite author. The Coworker is filled with suspense that will have you wondering how this story will end. I highly recommend book and anything written by McFadden

I was fortunate enough to get an ARC from NetGalley and I want to report that this read is a real treat and does not disappoint. Frieda has brought these characters to life and you will be shaking your head along with the characters trying to figure out what is going on. On top of the great characters, Freida touches on a subject of bullying and people that are sometimes dismissed in life and not given value in society. I also love the story of friendship and loyalty that is woven into the story and of someone that values friendships above all else.

Who hasn't had a coworker that you secretly wanted to get revenge on? This is a fast and fun read set in an office environment full of cubicles, expensed lunches, and lies. Surely, most can relate.

I just finished reading this Freida thriller this morning. I flew through the pages! Per usual, it’s filled with twists, turns, and a whole lot of “wth” moments. You just never know where things are going. There’s a lot of cat and mouse games happening but who’s the cat and who’s the mouse?

This book will have you rethinking your coworkers and is a good reminder that people are never what them seem.

Add this thriller to your TBR, I think you’ll enjoy it.

The characters are unforgettable. In thirty years in the workforce I've never had a coworker come close to the oddness of Dawn Schiff.
The salespeople, especially Natalie Farrell, at a nutritional supplement comany all seem to be hiding things.

Dawn works as the accountant. She is obsessed with turtles and has no friends at work. And is often the butt of jokes.

Dawn always arrives at precisely 8:45 a.m. for work every morning. When she doesn't come in one morning, Natalie becomes worried.

The twists and turns keep you reading. The characters are well developed and you want to read in one sitting!

Natalie and Dawn work at a company called Vixed. Dawn is a interesting person, and has some quirks. Natalie is beautiful and top saleswomen in the company, she seems to have it all.
When one of them is framed for murder, tension rises and suspicions are raised.
Only was it murder?
Someone is dead.
Someone did it.
But who?

I really enjoyed McFadden's The Housemaid, and had similar expectations for this one. I think it was similar in style, but it didn't hit me as strong this round. This is a true popcorn thriller.
The characters were all relatively unlikable and though that can be fine, I felt this made me care less about what happened. The key to reading a Freida McFadden book (and a lot of other psychological thrillers) is to suspend your disbelief and not dwell too much on the details or else the whole plot falls apart.
There were some clever aspects of this story, and I was entertained. I did figure out some of the twists, but not everything

Freida McFadden is an author who I heard about for the first time this year thanks to my friend Suna. I didn't know this author or her works, and although some of her novels have been nominated for various awards in Thriller categories, I didn't hear other bookfluencers talk about her books.

After hearing about the marathon that Suna did on this author's work, I knew I wanted to give it a try. I thought about reading "The Housemaid" first, however, the ARC for "The Coworker" came across on Netgalley and ended up becoming my debut read from the author.

This novel proposes a very intriguing plot: A woman named Nathalie realizes that something is wrong with her co-worker, who after leaving her an alarming message the previous afternoon does not return to her office. She is missing. Also, to add a little more tension to her situation, Nathalie answers a call coming into Dawn's cubicle phone, and as she does so, she hears a hair-raising couple of words “Help me”.

This is how Freida McFadden's most recent novel begins, a story in which Nathalie will be involved in a criminal investigation and, thanks to the details that we will learn as the book progresses, she will become one of the suspects.

This has been a good first impression of the work of Freida McFadden. I liked the pacing that the novel has. This is really a book that you can move quickly without losing the slightest interest in history. In addition, the secrets that we are discovering little by little arouse great feelings towards the characters that star in it. Characters that, by the way, are very real, because not everything is black and white on a day-to-day basis.

This novel has a couple of plot twists and moments of tension that have left me enchanted, on more than one occasion I found myself holding my breath, as a chapter ended in a scene that I did not expect to happen and from which I could not imagine how it would go on.

One of the details that I loved from the beginning of the reading is that this story takes place in Boston. You already know how much I love that city, the one that was my home for almost 4 years, and the one that I know very well. How gratifying it was to return to its streets and recognize the locations that Freida mentioned in the novel. Hopefully, her other works will also take place there, because this would make me want to read them all right away.

Anyway, The Coworker is a story that I really liked. The reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because I found the ending to be a little weak compared to the rest of the novel, but overall I really enjoyed reading this book. I recommend The Coworker to anyone looking for a Thriller read for an exciting weekend.

This book is fast paced and filled with plot twists. I believe one of our main characters “Dawn” may have autism (this is neither confirmed nor denied in the book), I thought this added a lot to her character as a whole. McFadden has this way of writing the creepiest scenes that just get under your skin, especially her last pages where things are always revealed to be not as you thought they were. This was my second McFadden book and I very much enjoyed the murder mystery aspects of it and it’s unpredictable!

Freida delivers another great binge worthy read!
I’ve read a lot of her books and they never disappoint!
The story definitely grips you in and has you guessing on who actually did what and when?!
Also queen of plot twist had my mouth on the floor!!
You will definitely learn about turtles reading this one.

There are two places you should feel (at least relatively) safe - in your own home and at work. A person should also not feel bullied or visibly disliked at their workplace either. However, for Dawn Schiff, Vixed is not a safe place. The reader follows Dawn's coworker, Natalie Farrell, as she uncovers the mystery as to why Dawn did not show up to work one morning - something unheard of for Dawn. As Natalie digs deeper into this mystery, the more confused and concerned she becomes. Without really asking for it, Natalie is thrown right into the middle of the chaos and soon all eyes are on her. What happened to Dawn? Where is she? Can you trust your coworkers or is there danger lurking in the cubicle next to you?

Freida has done it again! I will admit for the first 25% of the book I was confused as to where this was going and how Natalie was going to play a part in this. However, things quickly became chaotic in true Freida fashion. Like most of her other books, I read this one in a day! I could not put it down. At points, I even audibly expressed my shock - now MY coworkers must think I'm strange. Freida approaches neurodiversity and bullying in a respectful, but deeply real way. I really felt for Dawn as the book progressed. But, wow! Two unreliable narrators?! I'm still not sure who I believe and what really happened in my home state of Massachusetts. If you're a fan of Freida's, this is a must! If you are new to her work, this is a great introduction; welcome to the club in advance!
